Gravity hammer has deals splash damage so if they are close but you can't see them they will still get hurt, and sword can lunge farther then the gravity hammer.  Also, I would like to 1v1 you, if you want to 1v1 me in Halo 3 or Reach add me nX Mist.

dude. the shotgun was NOT nerfed. they gave it waaaaay more range. shotgun in halo3 was pretty much melee distance or less to kill. in reach you can actually 2 shot a guy from like 6-7 feet away now.

25 and 12 isn't bad. You're not going to have the same KDR in Halo that you had in MW2.

Also, you were too far away with the shotgun. From the distance you were at an assault rifle would've been more effective.

Yeah Paul, you done pretty well, but remember to try and keep control of the bloom when firing your gun. Shotgun in Halo is completely different from CoD shotguns. You have to be pretty close for it to be effective. =]

in halo reach there is no point in shooting in close range since melee only drops shields. Why shoot then melee twice when you could bull rush and melee twice

needle rifle has a slower rate of fire but if 5 needles hit someone they EXPLODE

DMR has a higher rate of fire,b but not sploding. as for the assault rifle+ pistol thing I prefer using the covenant plasma repeater and the magnum. drain their shields and 1 hit em. the grav hammer has a larger blast radius and isnt a garunteed kill but the energy sword is a 1 hit kill and has a "lunge" ability. plus the hammer knocks people back tips include use grenades to drain shields and get CLOSE w/ shotgun

You've probably seen this already, but the main use of the needle rifle is to be a Covenant equivilent to the DMR. It takes 4 shots (3 shots?) to down the shield, and is an instant headshot after that. The fact that it allows for Supercombine explosions is far less important as it requires 4 needles in an unshielded opponent - by then, you ought to have killed them with a headshot. It's slightly less accurate than the DMR though, as you might notice on Spire...

The needle rifle is like the needler. You have to hit a certain number of shots in a row, without missing one shot for the needles to explode. If you hit every shot, i think it kills faster than the DMR.

Also, why do you back off when you've got the shotgun? It's range isn't like the spas. You have to be up close...

Also, that guy that was sitting in the corner was actually at a massive disadvantage to you lol. You had an easy nade on him, which means he's basically screwed.
