I AM 14 YEARS OLD AND AM INTO GRAPHIC DESIGN, I THOUGHT THE PERFECT WAY TO GET STARTED IS TO GET ALOT OF VIEWS BY DOING IPAD PAINTINGS AND IT WOULD BE AWESOME TO CHECK OUT MY CHANNEL :)
Brilliant video. Endless possibilities. Once you've exhausted all the Adobe Logos you can always change the colors, and your little logo will look oh so unique. Lol :P
WHAT?!!! You just go in the logos folder in symbols? All this time, I have actually been sketching and revising when all I had to do was go into the logos folder. How could I have been so stupid ? The time I spent learning the pen tool and taming the bezier curve is a testimony to my naivete. Why was I even playing with that pathfinder tool? I know better now.....
This shows you how to work with stock images, not how to 'create' a logo. Im not bagging on the bro in the video, just trying to dissuade the persons thinking its that easy to be a graphic designer. Creative design is much more tedious, sometimes riquiring 2-3 or even 4 programs running simultaneously (i.e. lightroom, CS5, Illustrator, Bridge, etc.) Just Sayin.
as i see in the others comments, man this wasn't a good idea for a video huh? They are right, you can't say that this is the process of creating a logo because its not, you should name this video differently as someone said before or just erase it because for most graphic designers this is insulting.
This video (no matter how well intended), makes what we do look simplistic, and gives clients the entirely wrong impression. It can sometimes take days, weeks, or even months to develop a good logo, because logos are one of the most difficult graphic design jobs, period. This is like showing a canvas and brush, and smearing a couple of blobs paint on the canvas and saying "that's how to oil paint." You have shown some basic tools, but this is not the logo design process.
Here's a few I like: 1) The Big Book of Logos (this books doesn't explain how to actually "make" a logo, but it gives you several hundred good logos to study). 2) Letterhead & Logo Design (Rockport) 3) Design it Yourself Logos/ Letterhead Step-by-Step (Chuck Green) 4) The Little Book of Logo Recipes, David Carter (I do not have this book, but I have all his other books which are great). 5) Logo Design Workbook (Morioka). 6) Logo Design Love (don't own this but it looks good.)
That's not how to make a logo. It's how to make something you can't use as a logo. Most people would want to trademark their logo. You can't doing this because the EULA for Adobe clearly states "you may not claim any trademark rights in the Content Files or derivative works thereof" (clipart is defined as a content file).
Also of course, you can't claim any copyright or ownership to it as well since the entire piece wasn't created by you.
Do what is right - hire a real professional designer.

Pointless, something missing in this tutorial. overall a nice tip shared to use clipart instead of creating a fresh artwork :)
