Remember buying this in late 1990...god i think everyone in the uk around 20 then were on drugs...Dole check thursday...dealer thursday night, broke friday...lol....spacemen3, loop, swervedriver, mbv etc....then SPIRALTRIBE in 92...lord have mercy, thank god I made it with my brains still intact!
Thanks for posting, the best song of theirs I've heard so far. Shame it was never on any of their albums. They should have been up there with bands like MBV and Slowdive.
If anyone knows where I can find the songs To Kill a Slow Girl Walking, Kick the Wall and 7th # Disaster I'd be extremely grateful.
I totally agree! What passes for "druggyness" in music these days is that drum & bass bullshite, or redundant, irritating techno (as opposed to good electronic music). And then what about pot-influenced music? *stops to wretch* 311? Excuse me while I decapitate myself.
The best Creation band best ban on an indie label for a while in early 90s; had the courage of their convictions to do things their way they could have been so big
@paulg104 I was at that gig aswell in 1991 - remember the super-loud music vibrating right through my body - was a bit deaf back at school 6th form for the next few days :)
Yeah I have it as well on 12". I have all there stuff. I'm working on booking a show for them with Fuxa at the Empty Bottle in Chicago in the up coming months. I can't wait!
I felt, and feel, exactly the same way. Only I was nearer mid-teens. And Jo looked at me. Sort of. I mean, I was in a crowd and she glanced in our general direction. I felt closer to heaven for a moment. Where DOES the time go?
I thought I knew a lot about shoegaze and britpop music until I heard The Telescopes and that's when I realized that whenever you think you've hit a wall in thinking you've heard everything out there, there's always a rare gem of a band that was overlooked and through time stands up against their contemporaries and current bands.
Budweiser is popular, with its rich "beached one aging process", and so is American Idol. Shoegaze music is for people who can think and discern. Great to see the old stuff!
That's a good way to put it. Subtleties, paradoxes, ironies. These things seem more a part of this scene (or what it was)that any 'scene' going today..cool one moment..snatched up and marketed (destroyed) the next.

There just isn't enough druggyness in music these days. Even with the funkyish beat thats some damn fine psychadelia going on there.

I remember watching this at the time. Bass line got me straight away.
Happy days when all we thought about was the weekend, taking pills and dancing very silly.

As soon as I saw Jo Doran of T'scopes back in my late teens, I remember developing an instant crush. Jesus, where does the time go?
