You do realise that the photos of Coney Island you have in your video are not the Coney Island that Van was talking about, don't you? You have Coney Island in Lough Neagh whereas he was talking about Coney Island in County Down.
@richjl73 Don't think the quality or impact of your video is affected in any way.At least Coney Island in Lough Neagh is still in Northern Ireland and not in Brooklyn!
@richjl73 Don't worry too much mate. If you can change it great. If not then folks need to go and see the beauty of the place rarely known outside of Northern Ireland. Was there recently and it's stunning. Time you shared it with the rest of us.
I can't believe that this clip has over 17,000 views to date! Thanks to everyone who has left a comment and I am glad so many people love this track as much as I do. Peace and love to yo all x
I saw him a few years ago in Malvern. He played 2 gigs that night. Apparently the first gig early evening and he was excellent. Second one we were at was poor. Very little engagement with the audience. In fact the highlight for me was his brass section and "Here Comes The Sun" a tribute to George Harrisson (who had just died). He did that with the person who wa sthe support act, but in my opinion was better that night, a guy called Chris Farlowe £28.00 up the Swanee and tainted my opinion of VM
@mugwamp4 Yeah he did that on that night. It was excellent. Though I always loved Rod Stwarts version as opposed to Stereophonics (who I think are great by the way)
@john4316 yeah rod's version was good but amazingly only charted at around mid 20's ..it was written by mike d'abo one time lead singer of manfred mann,
This is one of the most beautiful pieces I have ever heard in my life.Even though the place is foreign to me It still reminds me of the time I felt the same way about a day with my late wife Nancy. The place was different but the feeling was exactly the same. I have been waiting a long time to hear this song on Youtube and I thank you richl73 for posting it with your lovely video.
Yeah it's my fave Vm song ..great to see it posted here at long last..thanx...the vid isn't that bad but I think Spielberg can sleep easy for the moment..thanx for posting this
Thanks for the comments, I have many of the same feelings about this song. Never wanting certain days of my life to end, wishing perfection could last forever. I am sorry the video is a bit rubbish, but i realised after loads of searching that this beautiful song was missing from youtub so i had to knock something up!! I am so glad you guys, or girls, have enjoyed it.
The video may not be perfect, however it is fantastic. Great song, which I play just about each morning. One day I WILL visit the places mentioned in the song.
Love this VM track, one of my favourites - every time I have a moment or a day that feels perfect and I don't want it to end, this is the song I think of - thanks for putting it up :-)
Very pretty. Made me long to be back at Strangford Lough singing to the seals. Definitely a VM classic. I hope you don't get the vid muted due to copyright probs. Thanks for the post. Regards, Pete.
Thanks. Been waiting for this. This & Cypress Ave are my fave 2 Van tracks. Dissapointed when I paid to see him locally, think set was 68 minutes, he hardly engaged audience. However, this one track always stuck in my mind. Evocative and emotive. Makes me think back to when I was a kid & what that felt like, never wanting a good day to end. What makes some things special is, you can't keep them & you always somehow know that . You have to appreciate the moment & have the strength to let it go.
@cpcnw If you know Van Morrison you will know he is a moody git but there is times he will get the fans going just depends on what nite you get him and you got him on one of his moody nites ( would hate to be backstage when he is like this)
Southport Theatre. He played with the support act Lonnie Donegan and no one took much notice [ie people werent in the theatre yet, or in the bar] I think he took exception to that somehow - or maybe terry is right, just got a bad night [that cost me 22gbp - thanks Van that was hard earned]
You cut out the best bit at the end!!!! The long pause, then the GORGEOUS violins!!! Aaaagh!

@guildster1 Unfortunately I did not know, and now feel I have soiled a few peoples ideas about northern Ireland. I feel a little foolish now.
