Those people saying emus are black? What are you on? They are grey, but darker than female ostriches. The easiest way to tell them apart (except for size) is the head/neck. Emus have blue necks and part of their face is blue.

Female ostriches are grey, and the males are black and white.

Male emu are the ones who have the vibrant blue or green feathers. Female emu have dull brown (sometimes grayish-brown) feathers. Sometimes Emu do have black feathers mixed in, but it is not in the same set/pattern than that of a ostrich. Faces are also slightly different as is size of the bird.

Female ostriches can also be brown, not just gray. But generally they still look different, because size and feather is different (notice ostriches seem to be fluffier or thicker-it's hard to word this)

It's an Ostrich. Emus are Australian, Ostriches are African - just like the giraffe is African.

Easy way to tell - Ostriches are white and kinda naked on the neck, Emus are black and have more feathers. Are a lot more freakin' aggressive, too.

Also, look at the context - why would they have an Emu in an African area of the zoo? That would make no damn sense.
