I just simply adore the film, the actors are amazing. I saw the film first and read the book after. and after having read the book I became obsessed with the film. Both the film and the book are true pieces of art. I just love that things (Norway, LGBT films) can work soooooo good together. Tore Renberg, jeg elsker deg, fordi du er veldig bra og fantastisk!

In reference to the question, "Can anyone tell me why "Lithium" was combined with this vid?" , of course only the creator of the vid would know for sure, but after just having watched the movie, I believe that it runs parallel to Yngve and his mindset. I dont want to be a spoiler for the movie, and I could be completely wrong, just my take.

And if that is the reason for Lithium with the vid it's brilliant because it captures several aspects of the characters.

This is the greatest video about Jargle and Yngve I've seen.

I've never seen this film, just some clips like your video but I come now to read a few pages of the book on Internet and it has nothing to do but I have been touched by the way the author describes as Jargle falls in love and therefore, I intend to buy this book as soon as my wallet will be filled... I love this movie! I believe there is going to be a sequel! I'm not exacly sure but it has Rolf in it and he is also playing a character named Jarle Klepp... The writer and the directors are sme also. Search "Jeg reiser alene" (I travel alone) on IMDb and tell me what u think! It's supposed to come out in 2011... XD

yes it will be another movie - Jeg reiser alene, premiere 18.02.2011. But Yngve is`t there. this new movie is about Jarle`s unknown doughter Charlotte Isabel. She was actually conceived that party night you can see in Man who loved Yngve!

@o0Basti0o The movie is based on the novel with the same name. And the author wrote the book with the plot and everything in Norway, 1980s. That's why you can see Jarle with old knitted sweaters and such. It was high fashion around that time.

Ja, sant det.. Var jo noen scener som var i boken som ble kuttet i filmen. Blant annet at de var nakne og klemte hverandre i garderoben etter at Jarle ga Yngve albumet. Også var det en annen scene som jeg reagerte på at de kuttet, men kommer ikke helt på hvilken scene det var i farten.. hehe.

Jammen også må du ikke glemme at nesten hele historien er forandre i og med at Yngve egentlig var scizofren. Det er greit at de må gjøre enkelte tilpassninger når de skal filmatisere en bok, men å endre på selve strukturen er å gå for langt... Elsker filmen likevel, men boka vil alltid være et lysår forran ;p

Ja, er helt enig! Jeg tror dessverre at det med at Yngve var schizofren ville vært vanskelig å få frem i filmen da Jarle kom og besøkte han flere år seinere. Hehe. Boken var uansett MYE bedre, så er enig med deg ja;) Ble skuffet over at såpass mye var endret, og at noen av de viktigste scenene var kuttet, men liker filmen uansett=)

åååh, dette er virkelig en fantastisk film :) eneste sjipe, som noen nevner lenger nede her, at filmen ender så deprimerende.. Men definitivt en av de beste norske filmene, om ikke den beste! :) og han som spiller Helge er utrolig dyktig og overbevisende.. men egentlig klarte vel alle seg veldig godt i karakterene sine, når jeg tenker meg om :)
