  • love from space !

  • To me this comet is like an speeding angel with blue and white wings the way the tail splits. its like a godess traveling through the cosmos looking for her lost mate . haha i know this sounds cheesy but thats my personal myth.

  • I remember watching it from the beginning when you had to get up before dawn in February, 1997 to see it and then later in the spring, I think, you could see it just after sunset. I watched it the whole time we could see it, and I was always so excited to see it. I miss it. I haven't seen anything that beautiful since!!

  • This was an awesome and amazing comet. I watched it each evening for several weeks, stretched out across the western sky. It was brilliant and captivating.

  • I remember seeing this comet, amid all of the light pollution of Dallas Texas and was awe-struck by the beauty and magnitude of it, and that is was so bright even the bright night lights of the city could not dim it's beauty.

  • Long live the Great Comet of 1997

  • This comet reminds me of the peak of happy life.

Under this comet my life was pure adventure happiness, love. Me and girl

were stranded on a small Island off Algonac, Mich, While we were stranded we looked up at the comet before things got interesting. 1997 and were the best years of my life.

  • We looked at Hale-Bopp on its approach to the Sun as well as it's departure to the Kuiper Belt, all the while marveling at what amounted to the kind of evaporation you see off a ice cube on a frigid day. Amazing that so slight a change in state could hold such beauty to it. Even though it was virtually next door compared to the outer planets and in our laps compared to the nearest stars, it seemed so distant and yet so beautiful..

  • How can this be disliked by 5 people? what's not to love about this video?

  • @wvufanngarner Guessing some folks just don't like it, Tom. )

  • Hello Suzzee, I had to see it again, well, I have seen it many times, but wanted to say hello this time :-)

    Sweet Appalachia, always home.

  • @wvufanngarner Hello Tom, you are so very kind. Thank you! I'm glad you enjoy this video and thank you, always for your friendship and lovely comments. Suze

  • I remember I was working 2nd shift at a strip mines in KY. when hale bopp came through. It was so bright. I remember it like it was yesterday. I couldnt wait till sundown so i could see it. Please never take down this video....it's so beautifull !!

  • @Dever33 Thank you, AC. I appreciate your kindness and also your support for this video. Sounds as if you had a response to Hale Bopp that was similar to mine. I roamed the banks of the Potomac River taking pictures and just sitting and gazing. Was out til all hours of the morning, sometimes not in the safest of places. I could not stay away. I know you understand.

  • Something keeps drawing me back to this beautiful yet haunting video. I feel a mixture of joy, sadness, pain, and awe when watching it. I feel certain your mom knew your heart when you created this video and her soul was touched. Also, wanted to say what a lovely poem on your homepage. Katie must be very special to you.

  • @TheRustylog Very lovely of you to return here. Thank you for your wonderful comments here and on the main channel. The people in my life are everything. It's who we love and how we love that, in the end, matters most. Thank you again. Suze

  • @skiffy08 Thanks so much for your lovely post here. It was very interesting to be on the river bank night after night as this comet made passage. I was never the same after again, and I'll always consider her passage to be the highlight of my life from the natural world. Suze

  • This music breaks my heart everytime and reminds me of the Documentary Earthlings.....

Wow this is a touching video......you brought tears to my eyes too...sorry for your loss. Your mother will always be with you.

  • Thanks for such a beautiful comment. I appreciate it so much. We are such motes in the light, you know? So tiny, so temporary, always shining. Time spent with this beautiful visitor changed the course of my life. Peace always ~

A beautiful and heartfelt dedication my friend,...just beautiful.

  • Thank you so much! It's a joy when this much beloved comet can bring its beauty and wonder to friends such as you. Thank you. Suze

  • This is still one of the very best & touching videos ever. It has been one of my favorites and always will be.

     Peace --:)Rod

  • Hi Rod, Always great to hear from you. Glad you still enjoy this video. The times spent with this comet were unforgettable and will always be tied to my mom. Hope you and your family are doing well. Suze

  • So glad I stumbled upon your vid. Your vid just reminded me of so much memories... It was this comet back in 1997 when I first started to use computer and internet. I used to go to the library and research on this comet and print tons of pictures out of this comet... It was this comet that sparked my interest of Astronomy...Still remember those days... It was truly once in a life event that I dont think I'll ever forget...For people who missed it, gotta wait till 4300 A.D. Neways Thank alot.

  • Thank you so much for your lovely, heartfelt comments. I don't think anyone who was in the presence of this comet will ever forget it. It was the most awesome experience of my life to stand with her, night after night on the banks of the Potomac River, cameras in hand. So very glad you lived during her time, so very glad you took time to get to know her. Peace, love and light always to you - Suze

  • Suze,

  • i remember watching this comet in amazement. me and my friends used to go to a local park outside of town and view it. it was beautiful. i would have been 20 years old. its crazy how time goes by so fast. just wanting to say that this is a intriging, and beautiful video. thank u for posting it. it brings back many memories

  • Thank you so much for your wonderfully sensitive comment. I'm always so pleased when someone writes because they remember this beautiful visitor. It remains deep in my heart and changed the course of my life forever. Peace and love to you ~ Suze

  • i had to see this again, and have shared this with everyone i have seen today. i lost my father not quite two years ago to cancer and many other family members as well. this will be posted on my facebook page with your permission and i will re-dedicate it to your mother for being the beautiful influence she was to motivate you to make something so wonderful and painful, yet healing. my brothers cried and i knew they were thinking of dad. thank you suuzzee. tom j.

  • Dear Tom, so very sorry to learn of the loss of your father and your other family members to this terrible disease. Please feel free to post this video on facebook and share it with anyone to whom it may bring comfort. May God bless and keep you and your family, and may each of you have a lovely Christmas. Suze

  • 1997 was a very trying time for many of us, my condolences to you and your family. if she traveled with that light she will never be in the darkness. second to my child that was the most beautiful thing i have seen while on this earth and that was a very peaceful thing to behold. i wish the entire world would think back to that time and figure out we all shared that no matter which dirt you stood on when it was here. it makes the world feel a little smaller. god bless and keep you.

  • I appreciate your heartfelt comment so very much. Have never seen anything more lovely than this comet, and being in its presence changed the course of my life and also changed me as a person. I share your wish for the world to experience great beauty and to be aware of what the gift of it means. We are all travelers, not owners, and we need to mind our manners and be respectful. And may God also bless and keep you and shine his light upon you.

  • My sincere condolences to you on the loss of your mother. Now she is in heaven watching all of this glory.

I live in Central Maryland, not too far from D.C. where I lived and worked for several years. In January 1997 when Hale-Bopp was visible, I was out there every night to see this wonder. Froze to death, but I knew I would never see anything like this again. At 1 a.m. this morning, I will be out there watching the meteor showers.

Bless you dear one. Thanks for posting.

  • Thanks so much for leaving such a lovely, heartfelt comment. I appreciate it so much. You had the same view of the comet that I had and yes, it was extremely cold some nights but I was just like you described.... I couldn't stay away either.

  • I know pictures and video can never do such things justice. What you saw and felt must have been beyond such descriptions, especially with its connections to your mother. I did quite enjoy this video though, thank you. As a child, I too dreamed of being an astronomer, and I don't think ever stopped. I wish you the best in the future. The Leonid meteor shower is approaching, I will remember this video when it does.

  • What a lovely, personalized comment! Thank you so much. Haven't seen a meteor shower for quite awhile but they are lovely, aren't they! Hope you got to see the Leonoids. Thanks again... very nice to meet you. Suze

  • this is beautiful

  • Thanks so very much!

  • Suze, this is gorgeous. I cried the entire time. Thank you for sharing this beautiful tribute to your Mom. xxoo Liz

  • You are so sweet and kind...always. Thank you, Liz. Am so glad you connected with the images and music in this video. 1996-1997 was such a bittersweet time.... it will forever be one of those memories that feels just like yesterday. Much love to you ... Suze xx

  • i always wondered why this was your avatar. A wondeful tribute to your mother. Glad I came by for a closer look.

  • Hi Jason, so glad you got to see this vid. Thanks for stopping by! The vid is almost two years old, and I kept the avatar because of its beauty and color, as well as its significance. I just like looking at it. Certainly better than my own mug.... lol You're doing some mighty fine work over there in audionautixland.... Hugs... Suze

  • is it true that this comet has two tails? please respond

  • Thanks so much for your interest. The comet actually had three tails. The two that could be seen with the naked eye were the blue gas tail, which always pointed away from the sun, and the white dust tail, which curved away along the comet's orbit. The third tail I never saw... it was visible only with very powerful telescopes and filters. It was a very faint sodium tail estimated to be 50 kilometers in length.

  • thanks for the quick answer well I must assume the hopi prophesy is real :)

    thanks again God Bless You

  • You're welcome. Glad I could be of some help. Peace, love and light always to you.... Suze

  • Thanks so much, DB. So very glad you enjoyed this video. I love this music and these images and take no credit for anything other than bringing the two of them together. I think my Mom would have liked this video very much. :)

  • Beautiully moving.

    - D.B.

  • I never saw this in the time I've known you. I cried. For the beauty of it and for your Mom. And for mine, she told me last week that her cancer came back. 15 years ago, she beat it. I know she will again. She's Norwegian, for Christ's sake! We don't go down easy.

    Love yuhs,

    Lee

  • So sorry to hear that your Mom is facing down cancer again. Yes, she will beat it again, you know it!! You just be sure to take very good care of yourself so you can be a support to her. The hardest part of being a family member... is the feeling of not being able to do anything. You sure do have your plate full right now... Hugs.... Suze

  • Didn't mean to be negative or anything, hon. Wanted you to know how much more we seem to sort of have in common- good or bad. All will be good. I guess I should have PM'd all this instead, but I really needed ya know how amazing this work is!

No bigger fan than ol' me,

    Lee

  • Well, it's kinda hard to be positive about some things, ya know?! :) Besides...when good friends feel that they can share the bad things in their lives as well as the good, then I truly feel gifted with their friendship. You're very real, Lee. And that's just one of the good things about you. Suze :)

  • I came across this video last year, the 20th anniversary of my mother's death. She too died of cancer. The images and music are so beautiful and touching and stirs up a myriad of emotions for me I come back to it periodically. My son was born after my mother's death, so he never knew her. There are times we stare at the starry night sky and I feel her presence and her love. I hope through this shared experience, he may also come to feel some connection to her.

  • Love is such a wonderful thing...it outlasts everything else. Your son is so fortunate that you want him to know his grandmother through you. And what a wonderful way to keep her memory alive! Thank you for your kindness and I'm so glad you feel a connection to this video. It has a lot of my own mom in it... Peace, love and light always to you ... Suze

  • I've been watching this clip many times now and this evening something happend. I started to cry. Crying is something I rarely do, haven't happen in a year probably. I thought about my grandmother and my cat's, all who are in the afterlife and I just want to thank you, it makes me remember the once that are now gone and I am very happy about it. This movie is touching in so many ways and reading about you'r mother battling cancer was tough for me. I wish you all luck in life

    /romagranada

  • Hi Romagranda, it's so nice to meet you! Thank you for your lovely comments. I am glad this video touches you and helps you release some of your feelings. There is a way of remembering with love and joy, and I am thankful every day that I remember my parents in this way. It lets me know that love doesn't die when the person or pet dies. Your grandmother and cats will always be in your heart because of love. Here is a big hug just for you... Suze

  • Great Vid!!! And a very interesting and well written intro.

  • Thanks so much, Max. Lovely of you to stop in and leave such a nice comment! Suze

  • So beautiful!! I too was in awe of Hale-Bopp. I watched it when it was in the dawn skies in Feb.'97 and then when it

was in the evening skies later in the year!

You did a beautiful job! The music, the photos, I got chills! God bless your mother! I know she rode with it and God bless you for sharing this! I've saved it as a fave! Princess Diana and Mother Teresa

died that year also. Like the comet was

    a sign, but so beautiful!

  • Dear Marlene and David, thanks so much for your lovely, heartfelt comments. Being in the presence of this comet night after night was the most amazing experience of my entire life. It changed my life and brought me back to the mountains where I grew up. It was time for my mom to go, she had battled for four long years and she was ready. We could not have asked for a more beautiful escort for her lovely spirit. Thanks again for your kindness. Suze

  • wow suze , remember i used to ask you for this cos i liked the colors ...how strange ...seems like so long ago ...so many emotions later ...

  • I remember! :) It's an odd feeling, all this time and space....and emotions. How many times did you send your video files to me, Rich? I never even got em once... lol You were sooo patient... xx

  • É como se fosse uma Divindade espalhando paz sobre nosso planeta.

  • I am not a Visitor From Outer Space.

I am your friend on Mother Earth and I agree in what you are saying, It was a wonderful moment and also a reminder, how small we are in Universe.

I know and You, We never will see it again, but I think, someone will listen to our Music when Hale-Bopp return again around the year 4377.

    Very good video Suze !

5*, but I give it all the stars in Universe !

If I only could ??? *smile*

    PEACE !

    Urban

  • You are ethereal, Urban ... you are my warm friend made of air currents and beautiful music!! It's amazing how our video images and songs touch other people from such great distances...but they surely do. Your music brings so much to my life...and I am happy you enjoyed this video. Hale-Bopp forever changed my life and I am thankful every day to have been alive during its journey here. Peace, love and light always to you... Suze

  • Thank you very much for posting this.. Big memories. I was only 10 when I saw this, and I am still thinking about it very often. I watched it every evening. From the day it arrived to the day it dissapeared. Comets have always fascinated me. There is something very unique about them.

    Regards from here

  • Thank you for this lovely, heartfelt comment. I am so glad you were able to watch this comet.... it was quite something else, wasn't it? The beauty and wonder of it changed my life and brought me back to the mountain where I grew up. I did exactly what you did...watched it every evening from the day it arrived until the day it disappeared.

We need to ask ourselves,if he universe is indeed billions of yrs old...then why are we still seeing the remnants of it's creation?

(I'm not going to debate that, just a question to ponder...).

  • Yeah I can't even front. This is beautiful stuff. The pics, the music is relaxing. Everything about it just made my day, and I was a little upset over something N school.

    :^)

    Just.... nice. :^)

  • Thank you! You're very kind. Am so glad this video was helpful to you...relaxing and calming. Sometimes we just need a little something from outside our normal daily world to help us get our focus back. Hope today is a better day for you!

  • I lie here on my bed with a little black and brown dauchsund who is begging to eat my dinner. Her name is sugar and though she has only lived in my house for a little over a year, she has been a part of my family for a while. She belonged to my grandmother, my nan-nan, who i miss with all my heart and soul. Cancer stole her away from me, I wish everyday to give her one last hug and tell her I love her. This video is so amazing to me. Your love for your mother shines as brightly as the comet.

  • Hi Mark...I'm so very sorry about your nan-nan. My grandma helped raise me and I know how devastating the loss is. If you open your heart, you can give her that hug and tell her you love her. She'll receive it and will give you a sign of some sort... if your heart is open to that. Maybe that sounds flaky to you but it's happened to me so many times that... hey, I'm a believer! My friend John O'Donohue said that when we die, we go to just on the other side of the air... isn't that lovely!! Hugs!

  • oh suze, i am reading your story and watching your beautiful images, with tears in my eye! that has got to be the most honest, beautiful and touching story i have heard in quite a while!

  • Thank you, Sarah. Your sensitive comment is the most beautiful and touching one I've encountered in a good long while. Thanks so much for just being you and for adding so much beauty to the world. xoxoxo Suze

  • In Watching such an amazing natural phnomenum, such as Hale-bopp it makes you realise how large and powerful the universe is and how insignificant we are, YET it still cannot compare to the power of love!

I am sure your mother still watches, guides and protects you, just as she always did!

This is avery lovely tribute to your mom and its really very beautiful!

    Take care S x

  • Thanks so much, Sarah... this comet always does make me feel both big and small at the same time. Small because of the vastness of the black night skies... and big because of the love that goes through me. Both Mom and Dad are right where they have always been ... in my heart ... Thanks again... Suze :)

  • the music and reading what you wrote is reallysad to me

  • There was sadness in my mother's death... but now all that remains is the beauty of her life. Please don't feel sad... The comet touched and changed people's lives...everyone's life, not just mine. It was eerie and very beautiful.

  • So beautiful *sniffs*

  • Thanks so much.... *smiles*

  • Hi Suze, my son came to live under Hale Bopp: last third of Pregnancy with him, his birth End of August `96, his first year happend under the star. It was a long time and alone with him even a hard time. All time I felt us under a good star. Your mother gone and my son came... Thank you for your impressive subtle video. All the best to you. Suzanne from Dresden

  • Hello Suzanne ... You have written of such a beautiful thing--the birth of your son under the kind aura of the comet. I always felt that my mother had suffered for years with her illness and that the comet helped her move to the next level of her life. The night visitors have a special song to sing for us if we just open our hearts to them a little. I see also that you live in a beautiful place in the world...perfect for such a spirit as yours... Hugs!! Suze

  • Hi Suze, I've been looking at your beautiful potery and videos again. You already know I like this one because of the love and beauty it holds.

This is one that touches me every time. --:)Rod

  • And your sensitive comments also touch me, very much in fact. It's especially wonderful when someone really likes the comet video because that was such a difficult time in my life and yet a time filled with great wonder and beauty.

  • When growing up all I heard about was Haley's comet. But that sighting was disappointing compared to the beauty of the Hale Bopp comet. The story about the whack jobs boarding the mothership behind it was an added bonus.

  • Hi Stourley ... The thing about Hale-Bopp was that almost everyome who saw it developed an intensely personal relationship with it and also had intense feelings toward it. It absolutely altered the course of my life but in a good way. I suppose if the nut brigade hadn't used the comet to fulfill their dreams, they would have used something else. With those folks, it could be a dandelion puff... you just never know. :)

  • Nice video. Its nice when people tribute whats out there in the way you have. Nice touch.

  • Thanks for watching and for leaving such a positive comment. Glad you enjoyed the video and got what I was doing. LOVE your channel name... lol

  • I am touched by your story. I saw Halley's comet when I was six years old. I'll never forget that. My Dad holding me up to see through the telescope. You have created a beautiful work.

  • I'm so glad you stopped by...you're very kind. Thanks so much for sharing your Comet Halley story. You never forget the wonder and awe of these amazing travelers. That's so special you got to share the experience with your dad. :)

  • Hey. I remember when Hale-Bopp was here. I was only 11 back then, but I wish I could see it again. As you said, it was the most beautiful thing I've ever seen. I kind of mis it. Greetings from The Netherlands.
