@musichistorynut Thank you so much for listening and for the compliment! I think Telemann wrote some truly beautiful music for gamba and I love playing his duos with Julia Veto, she is such a great gamba player.
@Gambaclaire I've always loved the gamba. I think what got me started was the film "All the Mornings in the World" I've since listened to recordings from gamba artists like Jason Paras. I am also a composer. I've written extensively for cello, but never for the gamba. After visiting your website, I am sure you are far too busy & professional to accept something from me, but it would be a dream come true to write something for, and collaborate with, a gamba artist.
@musichistorynut if you really want to write something for her why don't you compose a piece (if you're not sure about the tuning and range of the viol do some research) and send it to her in a formal letter with a neat printed score...? at the least she would look at it and maybe even try playing if it appeared compelling. can you imagine any self-respecting professional artist responding to a proposal for collaboration in the form of a self-prostrating and indirect youtube comment?
