  • Great...

  • I miss real rap, and yes I do know what I'm talking about. You wont find this on B.E.T. Just sayin',,,,,,,'Guru' rest in peace.

  • pretty much the same shit going on in boston today, like just yesterday, 4 dudes got shot outside and 2 died, rip

  • Just found this Song im not black but love this song :)

    Note P.S.: Haters don't reply

  • Anyone have any idea where the brass (trombone/trumpet?) comes from on this?

  • @ArchangelBoab I've Been looking all over for this sample too!!. I think it makes the song even more deep.

  • MAD PROPS TO MR ED

  • damn this shit got me teary

  • One of the greatest, and most underrated, rap songs of all time. I LOVE this with all my heart. This shit is so real and so touching. It's Gangsta Rap hard and touching at the same time. It deals with shit we all deal with on the streets. I've lived in Boston and Memphis. I know East Coast sound and Dirty South sound and this shit is as real as it gets. MAD props to Ed O G

  • Great song...

    Thanks.

  • hip hop with a message?? what is this ?? wheres the cars, girls and bling ?????

  • @hiphopdontstop420 haha thats wat kids these days would say..well..the ignorant ones

  • Damn this is profound, speaking of a social message. Back in the day we had a balance, social, street, and stories. These cats now are not even close. They're too one dimensional, not to mention lyrically wack.

  • @thecj29 good point we had a balance back in the days their was street shit but there was stuff with messages too..thats all you need a balance...

  • true words! sad story! ... just don't understand people that do not recognize the value of life ... material things can somehow be replaced but life is gone forever and so are dad's, mother's, friend's, beloved one's ... is that REALLY worth it?!

  • Eddo musiq real. Good humble man too.

  • There's only 2 words that can describe how great this is. Real Shit.

  • me and my niggaz used to boogie to dis yeah boiii

  • I live this song. the vid looks more modern than when the song came out. Vevo sucks. Guillermo from Jimmy Kimmel is not funny.

  • uhoh vevo got another one

  • why censoring the word nigga.. now thats racism !

  • @p0seyd0n

I don't get why black people call each other niggers considering it was used to degrade black people back in those fucked up days?

  • 0:01 to skip adds (fuck vevo)

  • Whats interesting about Ed O.G, is that he sounds a lot like Diamond D but his lyrics are more like Common. What more can you say about this video. Real life shit! You aint gonna hear this on the radio anymore.

  • @gotflava1 diamond d produced this

  • SEX TUM tag on that bridge. & Yeah awesome song and times...

I can picture when you went down just like a ?becks? Here one day and gone the next We all make mistakes and these are the breaks but I'm sick and tired of goin to wakes and seein an end, to my friend So we kicked it to the L to get some brew and gin Nobody said nothin everyone was pissed
  • What comes out of Boston now? Hopefully anything will be better than New York or Los Angeles, even Atlanta.

  • ed og and da bulldogs, kudos cos ur flow and lyrics keeps me goin and reminds me of tha real hip hop way back that's ever the best. that`s da real shit guys.

  • its tru love comes & goes

  • dope

  • OG = Older God

  • @lari861

    OG = original gangster

  • Jamhal73 word.. I too truly thank for this song. Such a reminder of the divine nature of life. There is a better way to walk these days.

  • @aaltoiz

    I agree with you

  • What's the OG?

  • @MrMatoune original gangsta

  • I think Ed OG and da bulldogs are the truest rappers ever. This group were able to give us wisdom through hippop. No group has matched this kind of wisdom. Respect goes to Paris as well. This days, we have criminals rapping and everybody is following their footsteps. Anyway, on this earth, evil will be popular but the truth will reign supreme. Thanks Ed OG.

  • @jamhal73

thats not an incredibly brash statement or anything...

don't get me wrong this song is dope but chill with that "no group has matched this kind of wisdom" shit

  • @ryanspanger

lol. Ok man, but tell me what other group u can think off that gave us pure wisdom? I am not talking about the ones rapping about bullet wounds that came from trying to rob little kids their bags of cookies. On a serious note, what other group do you think can match Ed O.G?

  • @jamhal73

the entire zulu nation could out-wisdom ed o.g.

tribe called quest, de la soul, the list goes on

  • Comment removed

  • @TheyFeedingULies

From the groupes u mentioned above, I could only see public enermy and pete rock and cl smooth spitting knowledge. Don't get me wrong, the rest just do fun music. There is nothing actually to learn from Wu tang clan to be honest with you.

  • @jamhal73 you're wrong as hell saying this about sunz of man my friend, I can tell you with all I know, that killah priest is all about wisdom...

also, to go on with his list: lost children of babylon (you may not agree with everything they say, but they teach you a lot stuff), canibus has lots of wisdom in his rhymes, not stuff like this, a lot more abstract, more philosphical. Sage francis rocks the wisdom thing, I can't forget about Deepspace 5, you can't possibly NOT name P.O.S. in this =]

  • @YoungDirtyCwalk

Ok, ok, all these groups has spills wisdom but I have not heard of them. U should understand that I am not even in the United states. I knew about Ed O.G. all the way back in Nigeria. The artistes u mentioned are only known in some part of the U.S; so if Ed O.G could move impact knowledge in other part of the earth apart from the U.S, no doubt they are the numero Uno knowledge bangers.

  • @jamhal73 gotta disappoint you man, I'm from holland, which is europe in case you don't know =]

but I gotta admit, Ed OG has made it all over the world as a legend, but that doesn't mean the others aren't as good at the wisdom thing. on top of that, some of the MCs I mentioned actually are internationally known but ah well, I don't think fame should be a factor in comparing MCs

  • U are right, fame shouldn't be a factor. Other MCs are good as well but their outreach base is what I am talking about here. We can go on and on arguing. Lets leave that and enjoy the good works that everyone of these knowledge pushers are behind. We need more of these guys, Ed O.G, killer Priest, or what have u. We need more positive hippop artistes more than these gangsters fools polluting the mind of our youths today

  • @jamhal73 word =]

  • Comment removed

  • @jamhal73 @jamhal73 Brand Nubian, Da La Soul, Sunz Of Man, Tribe, The Roots, Pete Rock and CL Smooth, Public Enemy, Dilated Peoples, Wu-Tang spit mad wisdom on many tracks... Those were groups, I can name solo artists if you want.

  • @TheyFeedingULies

Yeah, the roots are good. Now, that's a worthy group. I respect where they are coming from and I believe in where they are going to. Wisdom is their motto.

  • And dont forget Guru, Jeru the Damaja or Scarface.

    Peace to you.

  • @jamhal73

Guru/Gang Starr also had the same kind of wisdom in their songs bro=)

  • @shaolin89

    True. R.I.P Guru

  • @jamhal73 That's word, bro! No one has ever done it like Ed OG And Da Bulldogs..

Keep it real all day, til the end!

  • @jamhal73 Most are sold-out corporate owned criminals. Fake ass punks who sold their words for a paycheck.

  • A CLASSIC! 5!
