oh, I assume that AC power was not available. If it is, than get an AC adapter, set it to three volts, and wire it to the battery clips. Look for the end where the two batteries are hooked together. Hook the 3 volts to the two clips on the OTHER end. You could use aligator clips.
@stevenrobertpace This particular camera does not have an external connector. It runs on batteries only. I could get an adjustable power supply from radio shack. Then it could run indefinitely on AC.
Actually, You CAN record off USB power, just not charge off USB power. well, first you turn on your camera, plu ig in, it says disc, or camera. chose one, then after your computer recognizes it, click the menu/select button, and then the back button. now you can record and what not off of USB power! but this video would come in hady also.
Theres a certain trick to it... plug it in, it will turn on. flip it closed. flip it open and i think push the back button or the power button or something and you can actually film and use the camera while its plugged in. and to know it was running off the USB power, i had no batteries in it.
That might be the trick i forgot, and it was an accident anyway.
You could try attaching the battery packs to the camera, or lengthening the wires so you could wear the battery packs.
In my case, the extra batteries are fastened to the tripod that the camera sits on.
It's not convenient by any means, but it's a method that can be used to extend the battery life for about 10 bucks (provided you already own a soldering iron and some solder).
Same way I attached the other batteries. The harness needs to be 2 batteries in series making 3 volts. Then each harness would connect in parallel with the camera.
2 harnesses and 4 D cell batteries. Each harness would be a series harness making 3 volts. Because they connect in parallel, two 3 volt sources will still be 3 volts. Actually, you could connect as many as you want, or go with bigger 3 volt sources. Or get an adjustable power suppy from radio shack that can be set to three volts.

why not rig up a connector to the external battery pack, and connect it to the ac adapter plug?

I ran the camera for over an hour last night using the extra batteries, and it only depleted about 25% of the battery.
Next weekend I might make another trip to radio shack and get some D cell battery harnesses and extend the life even more.

how would you hook up the D cell harnesses, 4 batteries?

i understand how you attached the other batteries, im asking simply exactly how many D cell batteries / how many D Cell harnesses would i need.
