  • SO. AWESOME.

  • please excuse my lack of knowledge...but what ballet is this from?

  • @got2dance4fun sleeping beauty :)

  • @Bleaden94 thank you!

  • what i love about this is that the choreography and technique are very simple, and in my head, i'm thinking "i can do that." but then i actually try to do all those repetitions with that much control, and i'm like "what was i thinking."

  • Beautiful control

  • She's PERFECTION!

  • She goes realy well with the music.Amazing Amazing Amazing!!! if i want to watch ballet then i WILL watch marianela.my best dancer! :):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):)

  • all I can say is wow!!!!

  • Lilac Fairy is my favorite fairy dancer i had ever seen and i really like her because she is beautiful

  • Amazing strength and control... Beautiful!

  • she is absolutely gorgeus

  • it was like: " i'm a principal, and you put me in this role, might as well take advantage of this and perform my butt out to let everyone knows how i great i am."

  • @kkiimmiissiipp A Lilac Fairy can make or break a performance of Beauty. I never thought I would ever say this, but there is not one contemporary Russian ballerina anywhere near the stature of Marianela Nuñez. Not one, not Lopatkina, not Zakharova and not Osipova.

  • @Buondelmonte123 Each of the russian ballerinas you listed have their own charisma that Marianela doesn't possess, and all of them have roles that are non replaceable by others. But you are right, I love Marianela the most.

  • @nicolezly yeah, i really think lopatkina is really good in anna karenina. osipova is kitri. but i still don't know where to put zakharova, because i really think marianela is best in swan lake. i'll add cojocaru for sleeping beauty, rojo as juliet. but i still think marianela can also be anna karenina (hoping she'll get a chance to dance this), kitri, aurora and juliet and give a stunning performance just like those other primas listed. :) btw, i love nunez's cinderella.

  • I find this so inspiring! She has amazing control, grace, and musicality, but most of all, she has personality! not to mention the amazing pirouettes!

  • way too much ^^

  • Very impressive

  • This made me cry...

    IN A GOOD WAY!!!!!

  • i love her, not because i think she is the best dancer out there (although this is spectacular), but because her personality comes over so well on stage. you should also see her as lise in la fille mal gardée. she was fantastic. i officially fell in love with her after that.

  • She has extraordinary control and command of the technique yet she is so expressive! She has just became my favorite dancer!!!

  • lilac fairy variation seems to have been unpopular in the previous production, but Marianela Nunez seems to have entirely changed the popularity!

  • If you guys like this, check out the Paris Opera Ballet's version. This one is amazing but that one is even better.

  • I love when she plie's in arabesque during the turns her bottom foot turns out even more! Incredible control, line and beauty!

  • omg 0:44x

  • @somestreetsoul (several days ago): yes, it is just you. Her technique is nearly flawless. I should know; I've been on stage with her.

  • She breezes through a quad at 00:31. She is INCREDIBLE.

  • who is this woman! where does she dance! she has so much control...and artistry! aahhh!

  • @redmarker820 Marianela Nunez, prinicpal with the Royal Ballet, although when she danced this she was a First Soloist with the company

  • @emmsteemmastewart this is on 2006 right? she's already a principal in 2002. it was just shocking to me that they put marianela as a lilac fairy. and add to that, she's always in second lead roles such as myrtha in giselle (the best and horrifying myrtha ever), olga in onegin, gazatti in la bayadere (she's also the best gamzatti ever) and lescaut's mistress in manon. but past is past, and anywhere you put marianela, she can shine the brightest.

  • Really good, except maybe her neck and shoulders are slightly too stiff.. maybe it's just me.

  • I love how many people like this. Marianela is AMAZING!!!!! (Of course, I'm slightly prejudiced, because her brother is one of my teachers, but she's still amazing!)

  • 5 PIROUTTES holy mother

  • i was really proud of my version to this dance when i did it...then i saw this one

  • The pirouette she does at 00:30 amazes me every time.

  • seeing other lilac fairy variations uploaded here in youtube, i really thought this is the best variation ever. nunez has every move nailed perfectly without any sign of hesitation or awkwardness, plus she has those killer pirouettes other dancers can't do. wow!

  • How does she have 5 dislikes? Is her flawlessness just too much for some people to handle?

  • what is the move she does in 1:03? they were like fouettes followed by double pirouettes. but what kind of fouettes are they? they're not italian right? and btw, the pirouettes were done so slow which i think is so difficult. bravo marianela!!!!

  • @kkiimmiissiipp i think they are italian fouettes

  • fantastic ..

  • She is such a gorgeous dancer ♥

  • Preciosoo! Las piruetas muy pero que muy bien pero se va un poquito pero perfecto!

  • her pirouettes make me want to cry they are so amazing!

  • 5 people can't turn.

  • omgowsh AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • very beautiful!!! and her pirouettes... WOW !! ps. please watch my videos too (:

  • that was fucking amazing

  • holy fouettes......

  • great!

  • Her face looks like it's been injected with copious amounts of Botox...no real expression, just a cheesy smile :/

  • @Angelbaby233 the royal ballet

  • Yo!

  • OMG her pirouettes !!!!

  • I saw Marianela at the ROH in the very same production a few years back. She is the best Lilac Fairy I've ever seen.

  • what company is this?

  • @angelbaby233 Royal Ballet

  • this is plain amazzzzzzzzzing best lilac fairy ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! she makes it look sooooooooo easy im doing lilac fairy this year but the other version

  • that was perfect!!

  • I don't like this version at all !! Bravo Marianela !!

  • I've seen this video like 20 times and just can't get ebough of it.. :D

  • she has a textbook perfect arabesque at 00:16

  • @huixue

i know I'm using it to check what is wrong with mine hahaha

  • @huixue and perfect pirouettes!

  • That was amazing!

  • Lovely!!!

  • Lovely!!!

  • absolutly stunning!!! how could you NOT love it??

  • PERFECT!

  • magnifique

  • she is simply beautiful!

  • she does the entire turn in and spin thinge tho :S amazing as she is! that is a big nono! Lol

I love her tho! Defs 1 of my favs

  • Amazing!!! She can do a quadruplet pirouette!!!

  • its almost painful how good she is....

  • The 5 people who disliked this have never done ballet before.

  • I love her feet and legs.

  • She is sooooooo straight when she turns! PERFECTO!! BRAVA!!!!!!

  • linda d+

  • amazing dancer but i preferred her in la bayadera

  • what a beautiful dancer.

i haven't danced in a year so seeing this is quite breath taking.

  • O

    M

    F

    G

  • So controlled! So stunning! She takes my breath away!

  • She is a master of her art and this is was beautiful. I would like to see more "dancer" vs "athlete". She has the gift of poetic arms, and enjoys what she is doing, but the choreography did not let that flow as well as it could have. Then again, I know nothing about ballet other than how it makes me feel when I watch it.

  • she is so calm and perfect!!!

  • I love love love how she smiles the entire time. You can tell in her every move how much she loves dance.

  • how could that have 5 dislikes!!! its the best lilac fairy I've ever seen!!! bet those 5 people are fat jealous ballet dancers with no futures!!! butholes.....

  • Her arabesques display such a physical strength and beauty...my favorite lilac fairy for sure.

  • Saw her live in London absolutely OWNING the stage. Video does not do her justice. She is ten times better close up. If you can imagine that. I know, rather impossible based upon the perfectionism displayed in these clips. But, there is a vulnerable aesthetic to her artistry which is lost in technological translation. If you're in London, don't miss any performance of hers @ the Royal Ballet.

  • woowww that was amazing!!! her dancing just made me smile!! this choreography was really cool, but I didn't really like it along with this music....amazing though....shes soooo good

  • her transitions are so clean! I love her!

  • Wonderful. I love how her pirouettes look so effortless, I wish I could do just one or two pirouettes like hers, wow.

  • Comment removed

  • Wonderful!!!! I am speechless it is so good as all her techique is there

  • THE BEST LILAC I HAV EVER SEEN JUST THE TENDU AREBESQUE AT THE END WAS ENOUGH TO SAY WOW AND SHE DID NOT DO 4 TURNS JUST FOR THE SKAE OF SHOWING OFF IF SHE HAD DID LESS THE MUSICALITY WOULD HAVE SUFFERED

  • this is the beat version i have seen!!nice!!

  • well this is the perfect example of how unnecessary hyperextensions are. and that comes from a dancer who loves svetlana zakharova. nunez got perfect balance, clean technique and she's so musical. her movements are not just a row of steps but all smoothly connected. i just recently started watching her videos and the more i watch them, the more i like her. fabulous dancer.

  • such strong pirouettes.... esp at 0:45, i mean.... wow!!! from pirouettes straight into an arabesque?

  • Marienell exudes so much stage presence , her technique is so on POINT. !!!!

this lilac fairy definitely can thwart Carabouse from casting her deadly spell .

    Love , Love, her !!!!!

  • geeze her neck is so stiff...and her smile looks like its glued to her face almost like she has has so many facelifts her smile is plastered there

  • She is the most talented, amazing, and most effortless dancer i have ever seen! She is my fav dancer of all time by far! incredable!!!!!

  • @balletgurly in your opinion,i prefer osipova, bussel, cojucaru, vishneva.for me there is no one like osipova, she is the most outstanding female dancing of this generation

  • that girl from blue bird?

  • beautiful.

  • Wow She Is My Idol In Ballet! I Love Her!!!!!

  • so amazing!

  • although this isn't the original lilac fairy, i am IN LOVE WITH HER.

  • I just love how it's not all about extensions, but truly quality.

  • @mseriiiica i completely agree. this is the reason i love her. i despise those dancers like somova etc. who dance like they're contortionists without any musicality or interpretation.

  • She has the most gorgeous & contagious smile. She makes me smile :)

  • This is a perfect example of why she is my ABSOLUTE IDOL!!!!! She doesn't just have the strongest standard of technique on the planet, she is so intelligent with her interpretation. TRULY THE GREATEST DANCER THIS WORLD WILL EVER SEE. thankyou god for letting me be alive in a lifetime where there is MARIANELA NUNEZ!!!

  • this is perfect!

  • are her legs hyperextended? just trying to identify, thanks :)

  • ohmygosh...she just floats. and that quadruple!

  • This is the most perfect version I have ever seen! :)

Around 0:31 I held my breath, such a clean and controled quad :O

    Simply amazing!

  • PERFECTION! this is the cleanest lilac fairy in existence. i love the arabesque @ 0:55, its so pure and she speaks with her back! (as my teachers would say) what i love about her is that there are no freakishly high lanky legs or extensions, its just all perfect placement and lines with a delightful interpretation. Love it

  • this is the best lilac fairy iva ever seen it looks so effoertless

  • i think this is the best version.

  • who are the four people that didn't like this?!!

  • Wow.

Where did this version come from? It is so incredibly difficult!

Marianela is such a wonderful artists as well as a beautiful technician. Not many people could pull off a variation like this in such a pure way.

    Brava!

  • @emmsteemmastewart Actually, I'm quite sure this is the Peter Wright production? I know Ashton choreographed the prince's solo in act 2, before the vision.

  • @issyballet95 the production was done by monica mason and christopher newton after the original royal ballet staging by ninette de valois and nicholas sergeyev, but it does include the solo by ashton which was not in the original production...

  • Does she loose her center on those pirouettes? The last two times she did I think?

  • Amazing! Her turns are all so slow and controlled. I am so jealous right now.

  • This is breathtaking. The dancing, the music, the costumes...sleeping beuty is one of the most beutiful ballets ever performed. Marianela is the absolute perfect ballerina for this role....poised, perfect technique, and simply they best personality. All the role could ask for :)

  • UltimateStarlight I agree.She is.Great grace and smile.

  • wow...she is dancing lile a real fairy..so beautiful!

  • she has so much control!!!!! omg her pirouettes and arabesques!!!!

  • This is how the lilac fairy's role SHOULD be danced. Why, oh why do companies always seem to make it a mimed part now? It's so very much better this way- and shows the dancer to much greater advantage - and with Nunez that is essential.

  • I have only learned the first 30 seconds, but wow; so much harder than it looks.

  • beautiful, controlled, elegant. best i've seen.

that arabesque at 0:54 is specially breathtaking.

  • Her understanding of music is trully astonishing!

  • Everything is so clean. Even her quadruple in the beginning. All of her turns are smooth and effortless. Thumbs up to Marianela! The best I've seen so far. =)

  • OMG!! WOW! One of the best i've seen youtube for this variation!

  • She fills me with confidence on stage... everything is so calm and controlled!

  • what a beast! she is sooo good!!!

  • Comment removed

  • @syd453lm at her level 4 pirouettes shouldn't be .......

  • she is so calm in everything.....like she's having a walk in the park...

  • Oh my goodness! Shes amazing! She holds everything so well and has controll over EVERYTHING!

  • her pirouettes are so darn controlled!! its so amazing.

  • very very very beatiful

  • my favorite dancer

  • Paloma y Marianela... Las mejores.

  • best lilac ever!!!!

  • HERMOSOOOO!!!!

  • i hate dancing this variation......

  • OMG i never saw something so good

  • AMAAAZZINGGG! THOSE TURNS!!! and those fouttes my my!!

  • I swear I held my breath during the turn at 1:10... pure perfection

  • my god me tooooooo, AMAZING!

  • omg love you mari, think u'r the best!!!!

  • THIS IS AMAZING

  • she has very good technique and physicality, but some of her movements were kind of abrupt. But she was still great!

  • beautifull, its very good and prety

  • omg that was so hard! she did very well

  • i'm learning this dance atm and its so so so hard!!! i hope i can one day be as good as her!!!

  • break a leg :)

  • that was great!! she had amazing pirouettes, with a smile the whole time:)

  • Wow! She did a quadruple on pointe! She is very beautiful.

  • @gwynneio I know!!!!! My mouth was seriously opened when I saw that. So controlled and elegant.

  • @gwynneio On the Gazmatti wedding variation she does 5 pirouettes :)

Look it up: It's La Bayadere Marianela Nunez.

  • @gwynneio:

Doing a quad to Marianela Nunez is so easy! It is incredible!!

  • @kyntae411 I know, I want to be Marianela Nunez when I grow up, specifically her, that is pretty impossible.

  • @gwynneio:

Have you watched her amazing performance of the Black Swan in Swan Lake?

  • @kyntae411 Yes. All those turns.... she is so graceful and light!

  • @gwynneio Actually it was a quintuple, LOL :D

  • oh my goodness i love this variation and she dances it so beautifully... i never get tired of it! :)

  • what a shame..

    oh well your loss

  • Ive never seen anyone who has nailed that ending on stage like marianela! Everything she does is so smooth and effortless.. she should be the definition of inner strength.

  • WOAH! INCREDIBLE!

but maybe her jumps could have been a bit higher?
