Ok, now practical applications? I mean, the wii has purpose. Just sticking tracking dots on anything isn't all that useful. But proof of concept is something I guess.
You like the Wii, How about playing your tennis game with your own racquet. More importantly it is used in lots of professional applications where 3D interaction is needed. (tracking a pilots helmet, 3d design, medical imaging)

glovepie (incase you havent heard of it)
i find it the best program for emulating imput with other hardware :D

acually the IR lightning is not seen (experienced) by the user and is in the video an artifact of the video camera used to record this

Lol too bad you have to wear sunglasses to keep that fat array of IR-leds from messing up your eyes.

whu using strange objects with dozens of markers for 3d tracking, when you need just THREE markers? ;-)

Occlusion. When you block part of an object with your hand or you turn it around the tracker still operates as it only needs to see a few markers.
