I completely agree with you. I am in my 40's and the 80´s for me, and many others including you, it was the best time for us musically. As you have written, today's music is nearly all computer generated. At least we had the artist performing decent songs. Remeber TOP OF THE POPS in the 80's. @83Brokenwings I agree, completely with you, I cry as well hearing and viewing 80s, the music, the people, the atmosphere was just better somehow. Today's popular music is so empty and nasty and all about one upmanship, cruelty, cheap sex, some of the less well known stuff today is alright and I like Coldplay and a few others but apart from that, it's all pretty ugly music!

@MiggleMuggle I'm sorry. But I view eighties music as the last decade relatively powered by the strength of a live performance. Last I checked, Mr. Paltrow couldn't hold a note to save his life. I will admit that he at least does perform live, most of the time. But, It never comes close to the studio rendered version.
