i do remember sylvester stallone saying in an interview that all the Rocky movies except for that very last one Rocky V the punching sound effects where just TONS of different sounds thrown together such as glass breaking, car crashes etc. to make a 'punching' noise.

@WyattDeS Most hollywood-level and below movies do, it's called folley (the act of recreating sounds in post) or ADR (automated dialogue replacement), sometimes called dubbing

@nFnBjR *Foley. Just one 'l'. And actually most dialogue is recorded during filming, because ADR is a pain to get looking right (I've had to do it before, it sucks). But everything else, 'foley' as you said, is recorded afterwards. About that you're correct.

No matter what it is I'm making, I go through that process of my headphones, my car, a shitty sound system I bought for this very purpose, and anywhere else I can just to see if it's going to sound good to everybody, not just me. Anybody trying to get into sound, whether its music, film, or recording of any kind, this will be one of the most important things you do.

@KYami51 Hey, sorry if I missed something but I'm almost 100% positive that that program is Pro Tools. We have BOTH programs, unless Soundbooth has a different layout that makes it look almost exactly like Pro Tools, it's definitely Pro Tools. Plus, Pro Tools usually comes as a default program for running the Mbox which is what Freddie is using.
