@eimb1999 I think you'll find our government debt is under 20% of GDP and we're heading for a surplus next year, our unemployment is 5% and our economic future is one of the best in the world according the WTO and the OECD. People in my country have jobs and a future. The same cannot be said of the US. I'm looking to finish my studies next year and don't have any worry i'll find a graduate position in my field, principally because there are enough jobs to meet the demand.

BEFORE the recent extensions in unemployment benefits, SHOW ME a single person who actually "was on unemployment for years on end", much less a SINGLE year! I'm pretty sure IT DOESN'T HAPPEN, as the pre-Obama restrictions were somewhere in the neighborhood of just 26 weeks (half a year). Of course, SOME other programs may be a little more generous, but I'm not so sure ANYONE on a welfare program can use it indefinitely.

Our banks and credit providers and nationally regulated which is why they were virtually unaffected by the sub prime mortgage crisis. I fail to see how any of the above can be seen as "evil". People in my country have jobs and a future. The same cannot be said of the US. Nationalism turned the "state" into the ultimate focus who's needs were above that of the individual. BEFORE the recent extensions in unemployment benefits, SHOW ME a single person who actually "was on unemployment for years on end", much less a SINGLE year! I'm pretty sure IT DOESN'T HAPPEN, as the pre-Obama restrictions were somewhere in the neighborhood of just 26 weeks (half a year). Reagan inherited the same horrible economy from Carter, and after unemployment rates topped out at 10.6%, businesses and people alike began preaching the power of American made and our country grew out of the recession. Today, many things are different. Business is good, but now they have the leverage of shipping jobs overseas. This wasn't the case during Reagan. No WMD's found, which was the initial reason for the invasion. Next was to liberate the people, but millions more have been killed in the Congo and Sudan, so why not help them?
