  • i got the 12 horse. runs like a champ. put a 2 and 3/4 pullley on the back and it does 45

  • I have a craftsman mower similar to those two gray 19 HP twin mine is a 1997 Craftsman 19 HP Twin with that one thing that was exclusively designed for craftsman Turbo Cool mines also green and one hood hinge is broken but my motor sounds just like your two 19 HP Twins in the video Lynol do you know anything or have you ever heard of Turbo Cool could you tell me what it is if you know I know my whole tractor shakes while running when I am not on it

  • you say junkard i say treasure cove

  • holy s**t i have a 12.5 hp briggs and stratton tractor thats so f******king cool

  • you blew the one at 6:30????

  • any 4 sale bro

  • did u remove the seat sensor on these mowers? if so how cause I have the same one, only a 12.5hp

  • Wow I wish I had an opposed twin and a bumper on mine! But I don't.. It have a 1991 Craftsman LT4000 with a 12HP I/C Briggs&Stratton on it :) I love it, it is so reliable. But it does have a 38 inch deck which is kinda a shame..

  • thank you for this awesome video! sometimes when I am completely shitfaced I enjoy watching people starting lawnmowers!

  • can you run these ok without a battery once you jump them? or dose it damage it at all?

  • i need help with my lt 4000 14 hp when ever i start it the engine surges when its running becouse the governor is opening and closeing how can i stop this. and also how can i get rid of the governor for more speed?

  • @elliot381 no you have to keep the govener

  • Where do you get all those and why dont you sell them?

  • you look like Adam Sandler alittle bit just saying lol.

  • are you selling any of them

  • my tractor wiring is done so to start it i hafto jump start the starter

  • i got a question i just got a free sears craftsman eager 1 riding lawn mower and i cleaned the carb it turns over but keeps spinning and i unscrewed teh bolt under the bowl and gas came out...do you think the float in the bowl is not good......idk whats wrong with it its eithere a 1966 or 1967 with electric start techmseh engine i think idk...but do you know what it could be?

  • hay ya a need a new or used hood for LT4000 15HP one could you help

  • y do u guys not take the decks off and sell them?

  • i,ve got a 14.5 kohler command w 6 sp. smokes a small amt in the beginning but other wise a great tractor totl investment 125 inc. the tranny belt. keep up the great vids.

  • god there is a really bad lagg with the video and the sound its way off

  • r you still saleing thome

  • I think it's funny the way they put monstrous gas guzzling opposed twin engines in puny lawn tractors when basically the same engine was powering high performance garden tractors ten years earlier.

  • @lobsterbox20 Yeah it is kinda overkill, but I guess "bigger is better" is good for sales.

  • @lobsterbox20 wait so do they have alot more power or no beacuce i used to have a 5hp honda that could tow anythin and now my dad just bought me a craftsman 21hp b&s platinum yt3000 does it have alot more power or are they equal?

  • what is the point of starting all of these lawn mowers i don't get it you should sell them and make some money

  • you really like that choke on, you left it on way to long

  • @mecurycapri On which one?

  • I could use a lawn mower. The motor became unbolted while i was cutting grass and it completely tore up the motor. Now when ever I start it sparks fly out of the exhaust.

  • man, you must have just been bored, but nice tractors

  • one of my mowers is a 15.5 briggs and the motor fills with gas when i run it (like the one that blue gas at you) what did you do to fix the carb ???

  • Carburetor probably needs a new float valve and seat. Pretty common problem on small engines these days. It's an easy thing to do, I usually don't even have to remove the carb to do it.

  • how do you fix the float valve and seal whare do yo get the parts ???

  • cool thanks o and tractor land is really cool

  • Can you recommend a snow plow attachment for the LT 4000 917 model? Thanks.

  • The Sears one is really the only one. You can still buy it from them. I've seen it in the store.

  • Do you reccomend a LT4000? I have one with a 38" Deck and a Blower (Chains and Weights) Please give me ballpark estimate and what your opinion is on these LT4000's.

    Thanks

  • The LT4000's aren't too bad. They're not the best built tractors but they do most things well and without problems, and they're cheap.

  • those 19hp twins are sounding nice! good job!

  • do u have any murray lawn mowers u wanna sell

  • Yeah check out my latest video. The tractor that's second to last is actually a Murray, sold under the Craftsman brand. Murray made a few tractors for Sears in the 70's to early 90's.

  • Hi I was wondering if you have a carb for a craftsman lt4000 12.5 hp tecumseh motor.

  • Nope, sorry. Don't have many Techumseh parts.

  • The sound f'd.

  • Yeah after like 8 months on YouTube this videos sound went out of sync for some reason!

  • That's because youtube is Junk!

  • hey man i have a green lawnboy riding mower with a rear engine, the problem is i don't know the model, do u know? please reply

  • That might be hard to figure out what model it is. It must have had a model number on it somewhere, did you check all over it?

  • if you sell; any let me know too by btw do you have any toro's

  • Yeah, actually I have both. Take a look at my Tractor land August 2009 videos... all the stuff for sale is there with prices.

  • ok because I need a 1995 toro wheel horse trans-axle

  • Rear engine or front engine Toro?

  • front

  • Sorry, only have rear engine Toros right now. Do you know brand and model trans you need? They are usually interchangeable with other tractors.

  • hey if you ever want to sell any if them, let me know..

  • Gas in the oil.

    Piston rings?

  • Nope, bad float valve in the carb. The ethanol that's added to the gas ruins these carbs.

  • from 2:05 to 3:13 in the upper right. is that a john deere?

  • Nope, that's a Weed Eater. They do use the same green and yellow though, lol!

  • I've seen a 16hp kohler do the same thing as that briggs at 6:32

  • i have problems disengaging the deck on my 94' crapsman. How do i fix that?

  • A lot of times that happens because stuff rusts up and gets stuck. You could try greasing all the moving parts on the deck where the pulley and metal plate that moves back and forth to engage the belt is.

  • I found that the blade brakes were sticking and not allowing the deck to disengage. I just removed them and it works fine.

Otherwise you will need to disassemble and grease all the components on the deck.

  • The EPA and Al Gore sure will love that.

  • at 1:42 i have the same one, minus the deck.

  • man i love the sound of those twin motors.

  • i just got one of these yesterday and got it running after sitting for many years. i really enjoy your videos, thanks

  • im assuming that the tractor that smoked in between the boxes had the messed carb?

  • Yeah, a stuck float.

  • at 3:14 the sound is off. but when it first was on youtube it wasn't off until like December or January.

  • Yeah I noticed that a few months ago. It worked fine for like 8 months, then all oft he sudden the sound sync goes off. WTF, youtube!?

  • wow this soud is really off

  • I have a LT4000 that Im working on right now, It has the dreaded 12.5hp with the bad rods, Ill have to open it up this summer, seems to be running fine so far though.

  • Forgot to add, I want to put a 18 or 20 HP opposed twin to put on it when I get the money, I am doing a pulley swap this summer, and it should go about 40.

  • haha i just threw away a 12.5 horsepower one today

  • you can always depend on your briggs!

  • hey wut kind of jump starter u use.? how much r they? and where can i get 1

  • It's hit or miss with the jumper packs. We still have our old Coleman one, which works awesome, but we bought two other Coleman ones -the same model too, and they sucked. We bought a DieHard one from Sears for $55 last year, and it's OK, but not as powerful or long lasting as the old Coleman, but it does the job for the tractors.

  • every tractor i have has a dead battery rite now

  • Hay I have a ? a 90's Noma otherwise known as the shit tractor anyhow when i put it up for the winter it was acting funny. it kept sputtering around an when i had the throttle all the way up to high it would go then the engine would sound like it was just about to shut off any suggestions?

  • Could be something with the fuel pump f it has one, or the carb could be messed up. Might need a cleaning or rebuild.

  • i wish i lived next to i would by one of your craftsman tractors.

  • when i heard that engine squeak at 5:04 i thought it had no oil in it.Never would have suspected gas in the oil. Either way something bad was going to happen.

  • Yeah. Better a flooded motor than no oil. The flooding was caused by a stuck float valve, it just dumps loads of gas into the engine. It always makes that whistling noise when shutting down though.

  • hi if you live in canada ontario in ottawa would you sell one of your lawn tractors for $250. Please reply me back.

    Thanks

  • where do you live

  • is the 19hp vtwin at 2:05 still for sale for $300

  • yup.

  • 5 16 oh no

  • i need one for a tractor pull

  • have you thought a bout making a racing lawn mower

  • Yeah, now that we have more time it's on the plate for next spring for sure.

  • lol it got pretty smoke baked in that shack at 5:02

  • why dont any craftsmans have 17 hp engines on them i have i a 2000 there about craftsman lt1000 that was green. its the only 17 hp craftsman ive ever seen

  • my friends tractor wont start and i put a brand new battery in it

can you help and try to tell me what is wrong?

  • Well if it won't even crank at all, you might have a dead soleniod. Pretty common if the tractor hasn't been used in a while they freeze up. (i think 2 tractors in this vid had bad solenoids) Try jump starting it directly at the starter's terminal and see if it cranks, if it does at least you know your starter is good, and you can trouble shoot from there.

  • where do i put the jumper clamps?

  • You put the black to a ground and the red clamp to the red wire on the starter.

  • i wish i lived there, i got a lawn mower to, 11hp briggs got any tips to make it faster? im stumped

  • how much for the 19 hp twin?

  • The one at 2:05 is for sale; $300

  • Pimp you lawn tractor!

  • hay you should make a vid of ur craftsman's

  • cool

  • the 15 horse

  • does the grey craftsman move

  • Yeah they all run and drive (except the one that blew oil all over the place!)

  • Is that what the rebuilt 15.5 did at 6:03? It sounded like it scared the sh*t out of you!

  • Yeah that would be when it shot a geyser of gas & oil all over.

  • OK, and to make a correction, I meant rebuilt 15 HP, not 15.5 .

  • wow

  • how many tractors do u have

  • About fifty.

  • nice man

  • dont shut them off at full throttle like that it aint good 4 the engine

  • I usually throttle them down low before shutting them off, but for this video I just didn't care. With the old motors you usually have to or it will backfire...

  • Hey, if you ever sell one of them twin cyl tractors, let me know I could use another one!

  • I'm not sure, but when you are filming the 12.5 hp I see some kind of craftsman GT in the background. OR something else powered by a Kohler Magnum?. I am dying to find one of those things where I live, they're sooo nice.

  • Ahhh.. that ones not a GT but it does have a hydro and an 18hp Kohler Magnum on it.

  • why do you leave the engines at full throttle when they're cold. i was tought to warm engines up

  • Good question. Answer? Two reasons. One: ambient air temperature is above 32 D F., so the oil has not been thickened by low temperatures. No need to warm up.

Two: most of these small engines use an oil slinger akin to a paddle wheel to 'throw' oil around the inside of the engine. Running a small engine too slow can cause engine failure due to lack of lube b/c the slinger is turning too slow. This is why most (modern) Briggs engines aren't designed to idle below 1750 RPM.

  • well then he should just idle them once theyre started. what about ma=etal fatigue, clearance, and the oil getting thinner as the engine heats up?

  • Usually I let the motor run a minute before putting any load on it, but for this video I just shut them right off.

  • Okay. I'll try to explain this as best as possible. Metal fatigue in any engine occurs with heat, generated by friction. The best way to minimize metal fatigue is to maximize lubrication. Remember, oil does not posess that icky 'sticky' property of grease. Therefore, gravity causes most of the oil in an engine to drain back into the sump after the engine is shut down. IF the engine has been sitting for several hours, oil has drained back into the sump. It needs to get to the main bearings...

  • Continuing... Since oil needs to be up in an engine's main bearings and valvetrain for proper lubrication, it is important that you stir up as much oil as possible in as little time as possible when you start an engine that's been sitting. This is why it is a good idea to start and warm-up an engine (above 40 DF or so) at half-throttle or more. It ensures that the engine recieves proper lubrication during start-up. Also, most engines have a little trouble idling when cold...

  • As with any rule, there are many exceptions. This is just a general explination, and I know circumstances change with different engines. One notable exception: NEVER start an engine and run it at full throttle in cold weather . Oil at temps below 32 is thick and will not flow well. The oil must flow before it can lubricate. Here, you should let the engine warm up below half throttle. This is why many snow blowers used to be two-stroke. There was no oil to thicken and force a 'warm-up' wait...

  • As for the 'clearance' issue, metal-on-metal contact is prevented on plain bearings because there is a thin film of oil in between. Bearing clearance allows oil to get in. Bearings score and fail when they wear to the point that oil is forced out faster than it can come in. This is one reason why engines throw rods if run too fast-Oil gets forced out of the Big End bearing, it overheats, melts to its journal, and inertia does the rest. The crank continues to try to spin. It can't. Boom!!

  • Very informative! thank you!

  • The tractor at 3,18 sounds just like a mower i drove before . A REAL SOME OF A B**CH TO COLDSTART : And if you ran out of gas and poured new in it would take 30-45 seconds of cranking before it started again . I love the tractor at 5, 30 that won`t fire up untill along a lot of crannking . THat`s how thatmower souned when you coldstarted it . Once i cranked surely 10 times before it started when i pumped the chocke .

  • Good Video I also subscribe :)

  • it worked out really good but its so over powered you can turn the deck on when its idling and the motor has no trouble at all

  • yo i got one of them re-powered with a 25 hp V-twin not the opposed and its a beast. i also got a GT 14-----SWEET

  • How did that V-Twin swap work for you? I've been thinking about that for one of ours.

  • The LT's are very common. Don't you guys ever get any GT's?

  • i would KILL for a GT, but they were so expensive new, not too many were sold. And I generally won't pay more than $300 for any used tractor.

  • how do you use all of those tractors

  • @ 73rx3, very carefully!!!!

  • sweet............

  • Do you seal any bumpers like whats on the first mower?

  • Seal them? How do you mean?

  • I ment do you sale any of them?Like the first one you sarted up do you have any bumpers like that ?

  • No, I dont sell them, but Sears does. That's where I got all mine. They're $50, most Sears locations have them in stock. They'll fit any tractor made by Roper/AYP from the early 80's on.

  • Thanks ill check them out

  • what kind of jumper boxes do you have, they seem to be pretty damn good.

  • Coleman brand jumper packs. But the two really good ones we have are not made anymore.

  • why do you have a lot of tractors and to i am looking to buy one

  • We fix them up and re sell them.

  • I had a stupid 15.5hp wizard with the same exact problem as your craftsman. It to kept getting gas in the oil, so I finally got rid of it after 12 years of good reliable service. I shure hated leaving it at the dump un-defended.

  • Yeah. I think the float is sticking so I'm gonna try rebuilding the carb.

  • i had one the damn thing rolled over me and caught fier

  • Ouch. How did that happen?

  • i used 2 hav a 19hp craftsman twin

  • Hey- i have a weedeater tractor just like the one behind the 19HP in 2:10.

Just goes to show y cant kill those briggs motors...

  • Good eye! only a tractor collecting pro would be able to tell that it was a Weed Eater!

  • Heh I miss my LT4000

  • You had one too?

  • yes...made it into a racer and blew the tranny!!

  • LOL! well, we didn't even race our first LT4k, and STILL blew the tranny. You know who makes the tranny don't you?.... TECUMSEH.

  • Tecumseh...putting the Indian's name to shame...

  • i thought dana/spicer made the trannys. the one under my buds lt4k is a dana/spicer.
