You know i think the Asuka is there at the end because the boy wanted her to be there. It all makes sense the movie starts with him asking for her help. 1 thing i did not feel was a strong bong between Asuka and the boy. 2nd thing i don't get is her last sentence... "How disgusting" Does that mean she hates him for not killing her? Or does that mean she hates to be with him? Or does that mean she knows that he violated her sexually at the hospital.

End of Evangelion is the end of World 1. Afterwards it Resets into World 2.

World 2 are the new Movie series.

It's not the correct terms, but it should give most people the general idea of what's going on.

The movies are not remakes, they're the chronological continuation.

The movie is a (better) retelling of the last two episodes of the series. The last two episodes only really covered what was going on in Shinji's head but it didn't cover any of the other storyline elements which is why it left a lot of people disappointed. The movie picks up at the end of episode 24 with the SEELE infiltration of NERV and gives the show a more complete ending, though it's still VERY open to interpretation.

Sad Ending but still an Anime masterpiece. We can say it had a 'happy ending' but still unacceptable and weird the way it ends. the ending doesnt make it a bad experience. That's because the DVD's been out of print for a while, Mcbeast11. I just got a copy off eBay though and can't tell whether it's a fake or the real thing. If it's fake, it's in amazing condition. I'd go for a good quality fake if you can find one - genuine copies usually cost quite a lot.
