  • Your video always impress. Great work!

  • Trung, I wish you would get hired. You can do some amazing stuff.

  • so this prosthetic limb/android hand can actually feel? like touching a spike and you feel a prick?

  • You could try to do some money selling hands and leg prothesis made in good and cheap aluminium and rubber. Enzo Ferrari said he manufactured cars for rich people just to get the money for maintaining his formula 1 team. What sensors do you use in your arms? where you buy it? is amazing how with less funds you did the same what NASA made with their robonaut and million $.

  • @AZURA888 COMBO BREAKER! : p creativity have no bounds or limits

  • turn it around on the table and make it crawl!

  • Hello ,I´m really interested on this...can you give me some way of contacting you?email or something.?From Montevideo,Uruguay.E.Eng.

  • i would put it on a table at walmart flicking people of saying welcome to wallmart get your shit and get out

  • This is absolutley amazing, the way you can build these things..Your a genious, and Aiko is amazing, the way she can read and solve math, and feel. Its just-wow...

Aiko has to be my top favorite robot yet, and you do so good at creating things :)

The hand can help people so much, its brilliant~!

  • you sir are a genius!!

    are you selling these?

  • you sir are a genius!!

  • i know this is stupid but you should shown sticking the midle figer out.....but other than that its awsome.....

  • Trung. Aiko is amazing

  • Now if someone would like to buy, how much would be the cost?

  • how many weeks did you build that? so cool! XD

  • wtf

  • if i ever lost a hand id totally would buy this right here!

i have small hands to begin w/....

  • Now THIS is more like it! Awesome!

  • Excellent simple dexterity. If you are that far along on a hand, how far are you on working legs for Aiko?

  • Is there any protocols so that the hands do not damage soft objects like fruit or ... like a baby kitten :P

  • this is amazing it blows my mind

  • Le trung is a genius!!!

  • WoW Your so Unbelive, Great, Weiter so!!

  • Hey Trung,

Awesome work there, I like the way you cross your work in robotics with prosthetics. I was wondering if you built that hand yourself or if it was an off the shelf model.

  • @4r4nd0mninj4

Build it myself. You can't build off the shelf artificial limb hand. It will never be the same as the original human hand, but it is a start.

  • hey awsome job...did u use myoelectric sensors???...or someother sensor?,,,,please tell us what u used...also if u did use myoelectric ones please can u tell where u got it from?....been trying to get some for a while!!! thanks

  • How much money would I have to pay you, so that you can replace my real arm for a cool robot arm, Really tho no joke

  • Make it pull the finger!

  • If this works and relatively cheap, a "LOT" of war victims (combatants and non) and a whole lot of people are going to be able to get a portion of their lives back.

  • @norc24601

it would cost ALOT, and its a prototype, it still prob has problems

  • @mirokumasta Sorry to break it to you but these types of things are already being used.

Blind people even get digital eyes.

I knew a person a long time ago that had a mechanical hand replacement. Damn their grip was mighty strong!

  • @PieJesuG

accually no, they arnt..and i know for sure

digital eyes dont exist yet..the best they have is mech arms and hands that they can attach to people..which is EXTREMLY expensive..

  • @mirokumasta Are you sure? I swear I saw a video of a dude using a video-camera to cure himself of some eye-related thing.

And I swear I knew someone that used a simple open and close mechanical hand. It could only open or close. I even had a dream that I was using one.

  • @PieJesuG

    videos a usually fake

thing thing you saw was a hand using hooks attached with mussels..which are good

    dreams arnt fax lol

  • Try using a silicone based skin instead of the fabric you are using. It will probably give it a better consumer appeal...

  • if you don't don't know what it is its that red bottle

  • Why is there a bottle of nitro on the table

  • will you be able to move the wrist?

  • @Hemitris

the censor is in the lower arm, so probobly yes

people with missing hands can already move most of the wrist anyway

  • You are a beautiful man. Really.

That is so sweet of you to make mechanical hands for people who either lost them or were just born without them.

    Bless you. <3

  • @SweetPrinze

accually, thats not why he made it

he made it for the this robot building program, not for humans, though eventually it could be used for humans

  • man . with the battery on her back+ extra component to support walking , I afraid Aiko will become a FATBOT ... :( . Unlest we invent a new battery technology like whut we did with memory mini sd card :)

  • why not put it in her stomach. She doesnt have to eat anyway.

  • Maybe with a radio nuclide battery with its high energy density it could be possible!?

  • You can show fuck off , on other end off the world if there hawe that robot hand Or other doo ) LOOL

    okay sorry awesome 5/5

  • luke skywalker hand?

  • I'd like to see the iner workings with out the glove. Would be a great magic trick! hehe Good job, Soon one day we will have a robot that looks and acts just like a human.

  • The hand lagging .Mayby you have a bad connection?

    "please reconnect to xbox live"

  • now we can have free handjobs yeah!!

  • She's quite impressive, although she still needs legs, wheels or some manner of locomotion. She needs more naturalistic skin - tone, too. I wouldn't wait for them to be mass - produced, though.

  • OMG!!!!!!!!! High tech!!

  • The creater of this robot must have ordered the doll from yumesakikuro

  • yes this could be very useful for people who lost a hand

    awesome!

  • If this was incorporation into full body suits, the military would use it for "muscle suits " .

  • i don't think so, i went into a craze about Exoskeletons, military suits, and the leading brand uses hydraulics to move about, they reduce physical loads to, i think; 0.5%, wow.

  • LOL that's it ? Hahaha, I thought they had more going than that.

  • Little more than .5% and by a little, I mean move that decimal point over to the right two places.

  • no you misunderstood, it reduces the load TO half a percent of the original say you lifted 100 lbs, to you it would only feel like half a pound.

  • Now this I find impressive !

  • i know,it was crowded

  • He was at CNE today. Aiko looked pretty....

  • is it strong? and hot? or just warm?

  • haha that's like irobot

you know how the main character (will smith) got a robotic arm.

    DUN DUN DUN! irobotic-ness!

  • I saw that too ^^

  • AWESOME! these hands can be used for poor kids who don't have hands. DONATE every 1 !

  • That is what I am hoping to do in the future.

  • @aibot21

    this is amazing

  • @aibot21 remember the possibility of these things being built man like 7 feet and 300 pounds loaded with weapons and being used in wars and against the citizens of our country by our own government. Check out my website mayabell (.com

  • @Tibly I agree! I really hope someday Traung can get sponsered by a huge company so he can someday help man kind as much as he has the potential to do.

  • That is so awesome!

  • Hi, this is really cool.

What do you call those electrodes that pick up nervous impulses?

  • would that be usefull to people who have "symbrachydactyly" ?

  • I'm not sure if I lost my previous post or not, but have you heard about memristors from HP labs?

  • that could also be a hue step in the science of prosthetic limbs...pretty cool

  • damn! this guy is a genius! funny thing is he lives down the street from me. i hope i bump into him and his robot girl one day.

  • ask him if he can let you tab that robot girl :)

  • That is simply amazing! Congratulations!

  • nice system you got for the hand with yust cardboard etc,

    hope you get thouse 10.000$

  • why not make a better limb? start of with a hand like that just to gett juste to it and then have some better hand/limb

  • Can not do any better without funding. The hand in the video is made of thick cardboard. If I did have the money it would have been made out of Titanium

  • @aibot21 Man, did you ever get any funding for this magnificent project? this was 2008, and since then it has generated a lot of views, surely some body has managed to get you funding?

This could really help a lot of lives. Its just a shame the governments will happily fund a war for money, but they wont help a brilliant mind carry out a dream that could help so many people.

  • @aibot21 if I make more money I fund you not just with money, but with a multidisciplinary team from Osaka, Waseda and Tokio University and even the Kitec of South Korea, with electric furnaces for melting a resistant magnesium or titanium bones, a carbon fiber, UHMWPE, and aramid polymers department, high tech brushless motors, walking technology patents, voice, text, sound, face and objects recognition programs, powerful microprocessors to support all that, facial expresion array and so on

  • weird...

  • i bet canada is proud of you

  • you are a genius. It was said before but you should sell this as a seperate product for the disabled. If I had won the jackpot i'd sponsor the shit out of you. fuckin impressive! like said, you should make a donating website so that people could post a dollar. I certainly would! but you should make a 'normal wife' 'horny wife' switch (and definately an 'off' switch) somewhere in her back :D

  • Whoa.

My favorite part of this is that people needing mechanical limbs will be able to flip others off. Seriously awesome.

    That aside, really amazing work.

  • Truly amazing :)

  • can fingers move sideways? i guess not?

  • Next version the fingers will move side to side

  • Nice work. You should sell this as a separate product.

  • Is there some way that we can donate to you? I know you don't have incoming funds or anything but I would like to donate so you can keep continuing what you do. Please keep up the good work.~ ^^;

  • Bleh, nevermind, I found it. x3 Sorry.

  • is aiko still unable to walk?

  • Aiko can not walk, I don't have the money to make it walk. Still looking for sponsor

  • whats the estimated amount needed for the legs?

  • My estimate to make Aiko walk to $10,000.

    That is my dream.

  • Getting Aiko to walk will make history. First humanoid bot to walk.

  • was my dream to not aiko though heh but if it helps cordless power screwdrivers can get for like £5 drills £7 secondhand we talking peanuts this is for the motors that have enough torque, liquid plastic varys can get for very cheap but you get what you pay for so may be very toxic too, liquid rubber say about £60 for a nervious system i used low freq mics and tilt switchs which cost me 99p the most expensive parts was the servos as i use them as a switching system to drive the 18v motors

  • though i suppose it depends on method but im sure you can numbercrunch it down to a 3 digit number just incase you not thought about these things

  • This is very amazing

    keep it coming!!

  • were you giving us the finger LOL

  • This is amazing.

I look forward to seeing more about this and Aiko.

  • Yes, you will see more of Aiko very soon.

  • no matter whats in you way, do not stop completing this project, this by far, is the greatest thing I have ever seen, please keep posting up these videos of this android, or others, I am extremely interested in projects such as this, you are in fact a genius. this is our near future.

  • Yes, I will continue this project until I go flat broke.

  • This is incredible, better than the last video!

I would like to know... Can the sensors for this hand be used for neural stimulation a la brain mind interfaces. I have always had this idea for video games where our mind can be jacked in to the game. Like in the Matrix movies. This should be possible with your sensors as you can now make the brain control the hands in a video game so you don't actually need to act out the game physically but only direct your thought to move your virtual hand.

  • It will be hard, but in theory yes. I would need a proper medical lab to test out the theory to incorporate into the nerve.

  • hehe, 2:58

  • Yes, I did.

  • lol sry, but the grip is very interesting ^^

  • looks like the grip is weak. is it? AMAZING job man

  • Version 3 will be even stronger grip. Should be able to carry laptop.

  • great job

  • You've made great progress in a short amount of time yet again. Good work man

  • Still more stuff to build for Aiko

  • That is astonishing!

  • Still very impressive!

Are you planning to send the sensory feedback to the nerves? In that case, how? some kind of induction or some (not known to me) way directly to the nerves ?

  • I would need a proper medical lab to test out my theory. Yes it is possible.

  • I know it's possible, there was some commotion about a couple that had connected they're nerves together electronically so they could feel what the other one felt.

I'm very interested in how your planning to "code" the impulses that will be transmitted as "touch" etc.

As far as I've understood, it has something to do with the speed of the impulses, more or less like how it is with the muscles ?

  • I guess I am use to it, so I don't feel anything. But my father say he feels a bit of "shock" running down his arm. It would be nice if I have more volunteers.

  • Nice

  • This is great.... did you give the finger at the end or just me.

  • Lol at 2:56, you gave us the middle finger :P.

Your smart and funny man :D

  • awesome ;3
