OK, this was the second song I heard by this artist and I misjudged her. Totally. I think I was influenced too much by the background music in this song and the many fades at the end of lyric lines. Mechanical and gimmicky is not her style AT ALL. I just listened to her cover of the Led Zeppelin's "Ramble On", a song from the same time period as White Rabbit. She blew my socks off. I'm still looking for them. I'm going to shut up about this now.

There's a difference between trying to use one's talent to own and dominate a song on one hand and letting a song express itself through one's talent on the other. Listen to the video by melodicgrace "Paint It Black-Rolling Stones Cover By Mary Jo Roberts. The rhythm, the mood, the meaning , the flow of the song takes her over and she delivers an impressive performance, even though her voice cracks at one point.

Sorry to say, but it sounds mechanical and gimmicky. I don't hear the earnest sincerity of the song, for example the step up in pleading and passion that should occur with the line "when the men on the chessboard..." just doesn't seem to be there. Just an opinion. I love your song "Waiting For", however, its absolutely fabulous.
