  • LOVED IT! truly original take on zombies, would be amazing to see what they do with a sequel!

  • I thought it was just a really pointless movie overall. There was no climax to it and there wasn't any jumpy parts or anything. :l Your review made it seem really good when it just really wasn't.

  • this movie was disturbing in many different ways. I thought the pace of the movie could of been faster. I was expecting different ending, still i was very satisfied.:)

  • "Is she gonna be in my room?" Looks like someone has a new sex slave

  • I just got Deadgirl on DVD. It's a damn good movie. Both disturbing and thought provoking.

  • The movie SUCKED!

  • the 'virus' the girl has kills men, like it did the one guy....but when women get the virus they also become 'deadgirls'.

  • I loved this movie too =) Really beautiful ending

  • i don't know if they reedited the movie when they put it on netflix but i can't believe how shitty this movie is. i literally just saw this movie and i can't believe how many good reviews there is. the acting is so bad and the characters are not believable. the movie is just bad, bad, bad, bad.

  • I dont get why the douchebag that hit the guys, died from his guts exploding. I know the girl bit his penis off but WHY did his guts explode? Please answer.

  • @Isificational He was infected. The Deadgirl biting his dick infected him, and he was becoming one of the undead. Him shitting out his intestines is part of the transformation.

  • thumbs up if you kept on watching

  • I'm not a big fan of horror flicks but even after all these months I still think about it regularly. A very good point the reviewers made is that this movie is very layered. I imagine not many people would care about a deeper storyline in a horrorflick but this movie really stuck with me. If you are into controversial and mindfuck movies definitly check this out.

  • I thought this movie would be stupid too, but it was fantastic!

  • Blametruth and Seth Rogen haha!

  • "He will haunt my dreams...." Lol

  • I actually wanted this a few days ago...and I loved it!! It was quite terrifying though...And Shiloh Fernandez was great in this movie!! :D

  • The movie scared the shit outta me! Bt I have a question...What happens to the the people that got bit by deadgirl? Did they die or what? An What happen to The original deadgirl when she escaped? SPOILER QUESTION!!!!! lol

  • @OoRaHDaWg21 They basically become like the dead girl, aka they become undead. Its like a mysterious infection.

  • i saw movie she bit jocks dick off

  • That movie was fucked up. Two dudes find a dead naked girl in an abandoned mental asylum instead of doing something normal they continuously rape her. Then kill her...but she doesn't die...hmm.

  • Hahah good review :P

Meh, I thought the movie was pretty good.. Was just a little gross - the way they actually USED Deadgirl.

Other than that, it wasn't too bad - and yeah, the intestines scene was.. wow.

  • Hey i was thinking about watching this with my girlfriend.....should i?

  • Hey i was thinking about watching this with my girlfriend.....should i?

  • @Reedh13 Depends on how long you have been dating and if shes cool with scary movies. Just like any movie. . .like that.

  • @Reedh13 Dont, lol. It will be awkward.

  • Didn't get to see the part where the deadgirl runs in the woods, but the movie was just sick. My friend and I were gagging when she was spewing the green crap out. Actually my first zombie flick, liked it a lot.

  • it was a flat out porn haha its just about a girl that gets raped a lot and then kills you...thats pure shit

  • it was a flat out porn haha its just about a girl that gets raped and then kills you...thats pure shit

  • I missed the intestine scene as I got hungry and went out of the room for a sadwich :(

has anyone found it on youtube?

  • Agreed.. Music was so good. Awesome soundtrack. Very original weird movie. Definitely not for everyone.

  • just watched the movie because of this review, and I thought it was awesome.

  • the movie is fuckin stupid, nuff said

  • I dont understand. Is it a comedy, or a porno, or a horro or wtf???

  • I thought the movie was very original and i was intrigued. Not everything in a movie has to be explained. You can use your own imagination to determine deadgirl's origin. The acting was way better than most mainstream hollywood actors and it gave several relatable morals.

  • about to watch it.

  • the original score sounded almost identical to donnie darkos. not that thats a bad thing.

  • dude on the right, your hair is awesome. :) lol

  • Man, this movie like totally sucked. Man. Maaaaaan. Like. Man.

  • would a guy really want to rape a corpse? like are guys that desprait

  • @Mmmkay41 wow idiot it's a movie....

  • omg hahahahahahahahahahahaha i totially look like mike accept i have acne and he dosnt =( im sad now that i have acne and his voice is deeper

  • great review guys :)

  • I actually loved this movie. The ending suprisingly had a lot of emotion. I was totally speachless at how the one guy acted when his friend was telling him that she would never love him and he still knew he needed to get her out of there. It probably sounds stupid the way I am explaining it but I felt the ending was way deeper than the ending to any other zombie movie.

  • @sarahlangerify i totally agree, but you still had to suspect deep down that he would make the decision to turn her in the end. i mean come on, they were setting it up perfectly.

  • How could she break down that big metal door at the end but not the little ropes holding her?

  • Best line in the movie, BY FAR was "Fuck your love"! And the spitting blood in the face just adds more insult to the insult. One thing I was confused about was how girl no. 2 became infected. Overall I'd have to say a goodish movie but a better synopise would have been two boys find a girl in a basement and one of them rapes her, over and over and over.

  • You missed what was my favorite part in teh whole movie. *SPOILER ALERT* When 'first' dead girl flees the scene, though a zombie, she shows a glimmer of humanity not chewing on the only person that trated her 'nice'. I interpreted it as a 'Thank you for not raping me; I wont chew your flesh.'

  • @Rawny indeed. i noticed that and appreciated it too. which in retrospect, sucked a bit because of what his ultimate decision at the end is.

  • @ralphjb That didn't even cross my mind but you are COMPLETELY correct. Good catch.

  • Not sure what was scary?? O.k film. I got bored at the begining. But turned out a good film. Bit confused at how well they turned the dead girl round and shifted her about. But you need to see to get my confusion. Do watch. A bit gutted its from producer of Heathers and Hellraiser. They're my all time fav films. But won't knock it fully. Well worth a watch! :-)

  • I Subbed

  • @QueloGua401 He doesnt use this channel anymore

  • guy on right sounds like seth rougne<---- spelling?

  • i dont care about spoilers

unless i really really want to see it

  • dead gurls comin over danite......IM DOIN A SHOW WID HER... FUK I HAVNT EVEN WATCHED DA MOVIE YET SO DIS HELPS ME OUD WID MY INTERVIEW WID HER... fuk i hope she can talk since shes dead.....ughhhhhhhh

  • wasnt scary...like at all, but i really did like the movie.

  • I didn't think it was scary at all. It was definitely an interesting take on a zombie film but for me it was just ok. There was not one likeable character in the movie. They were all annoying headcases. It's pretty bad when a zombie girl is the most interesting character in the movie. I would like to know more about her and what happened to her after she escaped.

  • Oooh.... It Was As Scary As Sasha Grey's Music Projects.

  • film majors suck.

  • @L10Nh its there oppion get over it

  • @L10Nh I'd rather be a stupid teenager and enjoy things than be cynical and bored. :)

  • it was fucked up dude o.0

  • Hahaha fave vid ever! Eric love ur reaction to talkin bout the poopin of the intestines scene. U shoulda mentioned the creepy scene where Ricky's fondling his no-no area and imagining Joanne then sees the dead girl do the snappy teeth thing! that scared the pants off me! In a completely normal heterosexual way!!! Shiloh fernandez was awsome as was everyone else! Loved the movie loved this vid!

  • just got done watching it....this movie is crazy. loved it....the woman was creepy as hell. I love it when horror movies freak you out more than say a "jump scare", but this movie did the best of both freaking you out and having some really good jump scares. some of the acting wasn't the best, but the main characters were really good.

  • I saw DeadGirl the other day and I enjoyed it

  • no movie like it, ever, exactly like you guys said. it was sooo messed up.

  • jump scares are like the cheapest form of scare.

  • @ScholarlySquirrel, in your opinion.

  • @TheMasterchief323 your account is named after halo. your opinion has no validity.

  • @ScholarlySquirrel, its called freedom of speech bitch! i can say whatever i want, and just because i made this account when i was into halo doesn't mean "my opinion has no validity" so you can go fuck yourself.

  • @TheMasterchief323 freedom of speech? i apologize, i didnt realize i was arguing with an american. that explains the bad taste in entertainment. alright, take your jump scares and your halo and go listen to justin bieber.

  • @ScholarlySquirrel, 1. im italian, german, hungarian, and czech, 2. justin bieber is gay, 3. entertainment means nothing to me unless it's horror., again, go fuck yourself.

  • @TheMasterchief323 also you dont seem to understand freedom of speech, otherwise you would realize that under freedom of speech i have the right to tell you i think you have bad taste and your opinion doesnt count for anything.

  • @ScholarlySquirrel, haha, 1. opinions are not fact, they cannot be proven correct or wrong. and 2. idc what you think of my entertainment taste, its MINE not YOURS.

  • @TheMasterchief323 look bud, im a film major. i can tell you that jump scares have just about the simplest formula of anything in film. the most braindead, newbie director could pump out a jump scare sequence in hour. its for idiots. and no one comes away from a horror movie going, oh man, i sure had nightmares about that jump scare! no, when people go home at night, they remember the psychological horror. and it takes a much smarter person to torment a persons mind than trigger a quick scare.

  • @ScholarlySquirrel, somehow i doubt you're a film major, and again they're not the cheapest scare in MY opinion, not YOURS.

  • @TheMasterchief323 well youre opinion is a terrible and uninformed one.

  • @ScholarlySquirrel, omg, you are so fucking retarded. OPINIONS ARE NOT FACT!!! they cannot be proven right or wrong, and im probably more "informed" than you when it comes to horror. i was born loving horror movies and i know what scares MY family and friends, NOT YOURS.

  • Hi guys, I was very excited to see the movie since you guys talked so positively about it but I have to admit that I was kind of disapointed. Some of the shock moments very good, the atmosphere at the beginning was tense but I thought it lost a lot after the first half an hour. The score was very good though. I thoought the movie was alright but far away form being great. And what´s with the dog? Not scary at all. Nevertheless I liked you review but if you are into real horror, watch "Martyrs"

  • That movie was honestly one of the scariest movies ever.

  • this review was very fun hahaha i thought the movie was pretty good, very original

  • Honestly, this has to be one of the greatest indie films EVAR. So unique and, as of right now, one of a kind. And VERY well done. I really can't believe it's an Indie, that's how great this movie is. You really have to give it a chance though, and if you've heard or seen spoilers, it totally f***s it up for you, so I'm very sry if you have. This movie is downright f***ed up, deranged, creepy, but very humanistic at the same time. You can hate on it all you want, if yr slightly ignorant.

  • "theserf" said it best... The scariest part was the depiction of human nature. This movie ended up being better than I expected, and the acting was a lot more natural and realistic than most movies these days. What went down in that basement was stuff that most humans are capable of acting out, given the right situations and state of mind. A "human nature horror" film. I give it 3.5 out of 5 stars. Would give it a 4 if they would have shown the aftermath of the zombies running loose.

  • im about to try and finish watching it... had to turn it off when she was staring at the camera. I have NEVER been that freaked out lol. Its something about her face that is so freaking scary. You have no idea how scary it is people, you need to watch it.

  • I hope this is a joke because this movie SUCKED!!!!!!!

  • Can we just talk about how when I close my eyes your friend on the right sounds like Seth Rogan? Hot.

  • @lunchbox189 not at all.

  • Just like u guys, i had sort of low expectations and got kinda supriced! I thought it was very good. Deep, yet simple and entertaining. Had a sweet semi-scary feeling all throughout the film. Both Shiloh Fernandez and Noah Segan (richie and J.T) did a very good job! 8/10

  • ugh, its sucked. suck a stupid movie

  • I thought about Joann. I know what he saw in her. I think most would. But she was a bitch. If she was as nice as some might think, why would she be with a guy, assaulted people? A REAL nice girl wouldn't!

  • I enjoyed the movie. I guess you could say it was a zombie movie with a twist. I thought it was original. Extremely disturbing, but the disturbing part was all dealing with what certain people are capable of. The scariest thing about the movie is human nature, and I would guess that was the intention. Has anyone seen "Tooth and Nail" from Afterdark Horrorfest by the way?

  • @theserf

I've seen it. Very weird depiction of when humans become primal.

  • The movie was more creepy than scary and with an insane story. There are lots of crazy characters in this movie. A depressing movie which goes wrong. Thats my thoughts of this movie.

  • Liked your review, but... You misjudged some pretty vital things. This movie is very memorable and gets big points for originality. However, the dialog and acting were pretty horrid. Good story, BAD execution. And you guys gave props to the editing..? Please. About 15 minutes into the film I couldn't believe when they came upon the well lit room that had supposedly been abandoned for years. All the lights were on, but the hospital had been abandoned for several years.. makes sense to me!

  • This movie is just a time killer. It has some of the worst dialog I have ever seen, unlikable characters although I think thats the point, and it wasnt scary at all. It was original albiet, but the ending was predictable and upsetting.

  • Candice Accola <333

  • am i the only person here who thought dis movie was super over rated.......honestly i wish i could that hour an a half of my life back

  • DeadGirl was the most disgusting movie I've ever seen. And I loved every minute of it.

  • @30InSeattle I know right? I feel bad even mentioning to other people that I loved that movie. but I don't feel bad for loving it.

  • @30InSeattle ehhh. this movie isn't that scary. go watch Audition! 10000000x weirder creepier & more entertaining! :D

  • Not a fan of the whole "shock and awe" rape scenarios...but I LOVE a good zombie flick.

Also, the whole underlying message about misogyny and the objectification of women was interesting.

  • dead girl coochie stank up the whole basement.

  • Deadgirl is awesome

  • i like you guys. your fun!

  • I loved this movie!

Definitely one of the best horrors in the past few years!

  • Man if you think thats a jumpy movie you should watch Drag me to hell or the crazies - If there are any good recent horrors those are definatly 2 of them. About to see this one - curious like hell lol!!

  • it was scary! I was like 0.o

  • OK. See, I thought from the trailer that it would be about the two guys finding a dead body of a girl they knew, freaking out, a serial killer theme, etc. Then the whole necrophiliac plot idea sneaked up on me while reading comments on the trailer. And now you guys say it's a zombie movie (which is basically awesome!). I think the trailer sets a nice mood, but leaves everything (like the plot) up in the air. Now I know I want to watch it, but they could have made it easier for me, you know?

  • omg i hate watching that movie

it was the scariest movie i've ever watched in my whole life

  • i thought it was too much of a zombie prono. also people in the movie didn't act like they would in real life. Like when the guy got his freaking arm chopped the hell off he was just like "Hey, what was that for??" i mean... really. But, i liked the idea. id give it 6.5 out of 10

  • the one on the right sounds like seth rogan

  • Acting not always the best, but extremely terrifying in a way that is much deeper than gore and shock value. I don't even want to start thinking about all the underlying themes in this thing, but wow this is one fucking disturbing, depressing, incredible movie.

  • i totally agree with your review.

the subject matter is absolutley sickening but once you get into the actual story, it's well put together and thought out.

great movie on so many different levels. defintily not for the faint of heart.

takes the "genre" to a new, terrifying place that's never been taken on before.

I'd reccommend to only true horror fans.

  • One of the worst indie movies made in history! the acting is like they were holding their invisible scripts and acting in the same time and they still sucked! The idea is the sickest of all; raping a dead girl who was insane! N guyz shitting their guts out....worst wasted minutes of my life!

  • The funniest part is the end of the movie when this good guy is starting to rape the girl he is in love with. He dress her up and makes ready to sleep with her after she became a zombie. This movie is very original and sometimes a bit scary too.

  • Wot?

  • the plot ain't original. Anyone who thinks this is original is an idiot. the plot is stolen right out of one of Richard Laymon's novels. A book called "Resurrection Dreams". Maybe if more people could read, they'd know that.

  • Apparently this is a new genre of movie known as 'Zombie Feminism', i personally liked the movie, the cinematography was well done, the characters were compelling (evil and weird but compelling) and the plot was original. Great review guy you did it justice! :D

  • scary? no. imagery? very good. plot? wonderful. overall? one of my favorites :-)

  • Comment removed

  • hahahahaha awesome

  • This movie breaks the cliché of the zombie genre. It doesnt have zombies taking over the world or a handful of survivors living in a shopping mall. This movie is totally unique. It is truly disturbing and might seem repulse for some people. NOT A DATE MOVIE!

  • the guy on the right sounds alot like seth rogen, which is cool

  • I watched it last night and afterwards was laying in bed telling my gf about it and then I realized how creepy and twisted it sounded.....that's 'cuz it was!! I liked it a lot though.

  • SLAP! DOH!

  • I'm going to have to say that I didn't like this movie. The girl may or may not be a zombie, but in either case, this isn't a zombie movie. It's a movie about what teenage boys would like to find in the basement of some abandoned building and building what-ifs off that that. The ending could have been better -- A lot of things about this movie could have been better. I rated it 2 out of 5 on netflix. The dog reminded me of the dog(s) in resident evil.

  • Yeah, it was geared towards suburban, male adolescents. I didn't really care for it.

  • the soundtrack reminds me on donnie darko!

  • I just want to say that I thought the movie was Brilliant. It was absolutely original, and extremely scarey and disturbing. I saw it just last night and I still cannot stop thinking about it. Like they said-- this movie is NOT for everyone. If you can handle movies like Hostel with no problems, then you MAY want to see this. If not-- do not even come near it. It WILL scar you. lol.

Overall-- really great movie, very realistic [once you get past the beginning], and a movie you WILL NOT forget.

  • i love eric podnar.

    :)

    in fact, were bestest buddies.

  • The movie was pretty good...but they should had a storyline for the each character or at least an in depth one of the main character.

  • i just rented this movie on itunes and have not yet watched it but i dont know if i want to now i mean i like scary movies but this one sounds more like a fucking porno or sumthing

  • this movie isnt... a horror movie, more like... A Comedi

  • definitely is shocking and orginal.. kept thinking about the movie for a while lol but didn't scare me tho

  • cool review, I´m going to watch that movie right now. I´m a horror/spookey movie fanatic so if it´s not good I´m gonna be really disapointed

  • it seems to me that the guy on the left is trying to eke out attention and keeps off the right guy from speaking...

pretty funny to see that XD

  • Comment removed

  • this movie disturbed me sooooo much

  • In my opinion the movie wasn't good. Me and my friends wanted to watch a scary movie so we choose that one renting it off rogers cable. Bad idea choosing a movie you know nothing about. It was very scarey but the amout of sex oh my god.

I understand if you like it but let me put it like this two 16 year old girls, and one boy friend not a good movie to get. It makes things EXTREMELY AWKWARD!

  • I know! I hated that factor. I actually stopped the movie because of that.

  • lol. poops out intestines....

  • Great review guys lol

  • What a weird movie! I really liked it but it was so different from what I've seen before. I was like wide eyed through out the whole movie and like WTF, screaming, haha. Great movie. I reccommend this movie.

  • I hated it. I LOVE most Independent films, but I felt it was really grotesque. To much nudity. To much profanity, I just hated it.

  • you = queef

  • im suspecting the guys are trolling us

  • @diedrich901 why?

  • Well, Erick, I gave the movie a 1, because it is called deadgirl, but it wasn't about her at all, and so couldn't have any layers to her.

It was like a porno where it stars in the grass, bang, and he leaves.

Are you suggesting secret code initself or one that leads to a metaphor? I'll watch zoppie strippers or Jenna loves bella, when I need originality and layers with my fetish. I stretch really slow after waking up, & got creeped. "ah, moving like deadgirl."

  • what the hell are you talking about, the movie wasn't about the dead girl? The entire damn movie was about her. And if you think there weren't any layers to her, you should not be watching or reviewing movies. The movie is absolutely brilliant, and definitely better than the rest of the crap the horror genre has been producing for years

  • it was about boys who found a dead girl.

Go ahead, if you be so kind what the deadgirls' thougnts were? her life story? what were the layers to her experiences?

How did she develope as a character? Let me think, and not complain that her point of view wasn't handed to me on a platter. Here i go: I'm wrapped up in a hospital? Do I have awareness? Am I even able to ponder what what my zobie like states means about life? Why are these boys here? Oh will any one help me?

  • Okay Daniel, since my questions as viewer weren't answered, since deadgirl was treated like a thing instead of a main character. It seemed like the boys were the main characters. I' ll go back put myself in deadgirls shoes & see if i get more than, I'm a discusting thing, don't care about these boys drama.

Starting with the questions I listed in the 2nd part of my response. " think, don't complain that her pov wasn't handed on a platter.

  • what do you expect from a "character" that has absolutely no lines? The dead girl is, in a way, a descriptor of the male psyche. Okay, so you might be right that the majority of the movie is about the boys. But that story absolutely could not be told without the dead girl and all the different metaphors she brings to the table

  • The opressor can't exisist w/o a slave. I should have read the reviews before watiching. I was looking for a "interview with the vampire" type that explores the metaphisical instead I got a metaphor fo the developing male ego, her lack of lines is indicative of that.

I'm glad you got where I was coming from, Daniel.

  • some of the score was taken from donnie darko.

  • my fave:)

  • I LOVED This Movie. It Was Just Sick & Twisted & Unique & Amazing. Haha

I'd REALLY Love A Second One. As Either A Sequel Telling What Happened To The Deadgirl And Joann & Ricki, Or A Prequel Telling How The Deadgirl Came To Be. I'm Like REALLY Curious To Know What Happened To Her & How She Ended Up In That Asylum.

  • FD3/Daniel)Thats why I said that the movie wasn't about her, because it focused on the boys experience and offered a quick possible of how she got there. I got alot out of what it would be like to be a vamp from Interview with the vampire. living vicariously through dead girl, leaves me with, " I'm a discusting" it was about the boys' coming of age.

instead of hers. What boys would do if they found a dead girl in stead of showing her life ? (parly a response to Daniel.)

  • This movie has the LAMEST website.

  • god damn!!! what a movie!!! since the zombie crap movies, i haven't seen bigger peace of shit.. wannabehorror. trash, dont waste ur bandwith on downloading :)

  • one thing i do not understand is...what the hell is she? a zombie? experiment? alien?

  • This film is available on Netflix, just so others know.

  • when did it show Deadgirl running through the woods at the end?

  • I was not only disappointed that she didn't make it out alive, but I'm pretty sure she said "Fuck you. Grow up." So she didn't even like this guy at all even though she's dying. And then this guy who was against the whole raping a dead girl thing from the beginning decides it's okay now that the dead girl is the girl he likes. Kinda feels like he lost his morals.

  • I was trying to figure out what she said too... still cant say for sure.

But I also agree with what you said about the ending, I kinda figured it would play out where she'd end up becoming a deadgirl and he was going to change his ways. But I find that thats a total switch of character, personally I felt it was a bit stupid that they dropped his morals like that (as you also stated). I love zombie movies and I liked to feel to the movie I just was very turned off from it at the end.

  • she said

    "fucking grow up"

I couldn't tell what she said so I turned on the subtitles

  • Kinda? lol

  • Okay, he pretty much took his morals and threw them out the fucking window. Then doused them in gasoline and dropped a match on them. Then had the ashes pecked up by many chickens. Then set fire to the chickens...... I could go on for a while.

  • u r so my type lol

  • The ending is where I get the prequel view.

  • I basically see this movie as a prequel to the "zombie apocalypse" genre. All in all, I thought it was an awesome movie for an indie film. Well shot, just enough gore to get the effect, I agree with the F-bomb fact though. Other than that, I'll definitely recommend it to someone looking for a new, original movie. :)

  • I Think they should make a Deadgirl 2 cause they should show where the dead girl went And i think the deadgirl didnt go for Ricki cause he didnt do anything to her and he tried to set her free.

  • This movie was sick , shocking, and awesome! Definitely not your traditional zombie, but it was original, I've never seen anything like it.

There were 2 things that left me curious though...

    1. wtf was up with that shot of the plant growing in the basement? I'm all for symbolization and whatnot, but they never really touched on it again.

    2. why didn't anybody else excrement their intestines after getting bitten? maybe they just didn't show it in the other victims for fear of repetitiveness?
