  • Does the results come with '80's synth music too?

  • I just found I'm haplogroup A but I can't see the video of Doctor S. talking :(

  • @mandragoramia same here I came out as Haplogroup H but no talking doctor.

  • it would have been more interesting if you showed a picture of "jay"

  • the highest frequencies of J2 is South Eastern Anatolia, Northwestern Iraq, the Mediterranean and among Palestinians living in coastal Israel

  • The Phoenicians were E1b1b1-M35

J2 is the marker of Mesopotamian farmers, most J2 in the Med Sea is rather Greco-Roman J2a4 & J2b all J2 originates from Iraq-Turkey

  • Spencer wells do not confirm what you speak, check the 2004 oct issue of National Geographic!

  • Spencer Wells is on Arabid payroll, so he can go back to Lebanon to make another video about how J conquered the sea by camels, garlic sauce & prayers

E1b1b1a-M78 Somali Pirates raiding ships 1000s of Miles away from the Somali shores on primitive ships is DNA speaking my friend, Arabids J2 farmers or J1 bedouins will not last 1 day in the sea, the sea is me I can go in the oceans for years because of my DNA

  • "Spencer Wells is on Arabid payroll"LOL lets see you prove that in court, and genetic markers, like linguistics, don't, nor have they ever mapped along ethnic lines. Unless YOU, yourself, are a geneticist whose done field work all around the world like Wells, or not, your not to be taken seriously. Regards.

  • mtdna haplogroup k predicted k1a, from which country/tribe do I come from?

  • Its sad the true Coastal E1b1b were denied the true Phoenician Legacy

All of Coastal Greece, Italy & north Africa is E1b1b, J2 is not found in North Africa & only inland Greece & italy those are farmers not Sailors, but this is Lebanese politics not science.

  • Your insane, LMAO! A phoenician Somali, ROFL!

  • I have the DNA results to back it up, crazy is J people claiming to be Phoenician lol

Bedouins & Neolithic farmers got on ships all of a suddden lol!

  • LOL! And what haplogroups do you have, I have I1b.

  • "J2 is not found in North Africa"

LOL! It is found in Southern Egypt at over 20%.

  • J1 is in Southern Egypt, anyways you are a typical Arabid liar. Tunisia (Carthage has zero % J2) while E1b1b is 50%

You have no culture to be proud off thats why you want my history pathetic Arabid, your ancestors were J2 farmers or J1 Camel ppl, they would have never ever lasted 2 days in my sea.

Come step to my sea pathetic Arabid, then you will see how much a fake Phoenician you are

  • I am not an Arab. I1b is NOT found outside of Europe, genius. So no I am not an Arab, related to one or have seen very many.

  • Well good for you are you some Turko-Bosnian or something like that

  • LMAO I am not a Turk and not from the Balkans you racist prick. I will give you a clue though. The specific subclade that I have is M-26.

  • Sardinian same thing be proud of your I2 cousins

  • Im actually not Sardinian but close.

  • Migration but originaly not north africa.

  • Recent migration.

  • when i get my results can i see if im from phoenician descent?

  • Perhaps, the thing is the "Phoeician marker" [J2] is found in many people, some who do or do not have phoenician descent. It all depends where you are from, if you do have J2 you could be the descendent of a Greek or of Neolithic farmers.

  • Yes J2 means you are Iraqi congratulations. Iraq is the heartland of J2 30% of Iraq is J2, that means 10 Million Iraqis are J2 compared to 1 Million Lebanese Phoenicians.

Doesn't make sense, ofcourse because J2 is not a Phoenician gene only in Lebanon you can rename the sun a moon :)

  • Thanks for posting your results so that we can get a look at what the Genographic Project provides!

  • Would you recommend this program for the genetic tests? Do they give you a login to a panel to compare to other people in that haplogroup? I think Familytree DNA does that.

  • Um there are more groups than just Arabs or Jews that resided in the middle east ya know. Greeks, Assyrians, Mongols (when they invaded), Persians, etc. etc.

  • What's the name of the song used for this vid?

  • John Carpenter: Escape from New York

  • CIWS, does your results match mine?

    Mine is:

    HVR1: 16069T, 16126C, 16193T, 16278T

If it does match, we could have a common ancestor, 52 generations ago.

  • Unfortunately it does not appear to.

    16069T, 16092C, 16126C, 16261T

  • You can take a higher fidelity test through Familytree, its one of the links at the bottom of the results page...

    Fathers r1b1 Brythonian

    mothers fathers I1a Viking/Visigoth/NGerman

mothers mothers D Native Meso American

    Mothers mothers fathers j2f1 Trojan/Adriatic

Genetcs, Culture are not the same, sans my ability to drink beer, fight and shoot like a Barbarian!

  • @CIWS

You both have 16069T and 16126C.

  • Mine is: J1b1: 16069T, 16126C, 16145A, 16172C, 16222T, 16261T, 16519C

  • BTW, On your National Genographic results page, there is a link to transfer your results to Family Tree DNA. Your results could match with people living all over the globe!

  • My Haplogroups Are:

    Y-DNA: R1a1

    mtDNA: J2b (A Sub-Group Of J)

For males, you can even have both DNA tests done here at Family Tree DNA. There are also upgrades for genealogical purposes. I've got Y-67 markers and Full mtDNA sequence results.

  • I spent money on the "DNA Project" out of Canada and it was a complete waste of money. They basically said that I was a white man of European descent. Several hundred dollars for something I already know.

  • That's unfortunate. Some people may not care for this test as it doesn't start "looking" until at least 10,000 years and then back. Some people are simply interested in more recent information.

  • This project is very interesting. I took the test myself and I am very happy with the results.

  • @CIWS... What is the info based on? mtDNA, Y-chromosome and/or autosomal? And it says nothing of ancestry within the last 10,000 YBP? It doesn't give percentages that might be East Asian, European, sub-Saharan African, Native American, etc?

  • @Gerkinstock As listed in the video titles and the description section it was a mtDNA based test. It does not speak to the most recent 10-15K years, but then that was made clear from the outset when they started the project. My mother wasn't too happy about that because in such a case it didn'tl show the Native American ancestry in our family. I'm sure as such data gathering and testing improves that will become available as well for those wishing it.

  • @CIWS... Sorry, missed the mtDNA part. mtDNA doesn't yield much information, so you might want to look into having an autosomal test done. Really, the last 10,000 years is what matters most because that's when the modern ethnic groups began to form. It's also when Europe began to be repopulated following the Ice Age. It's just a matter of finding reputable company that tests the maximum number of markers. Family Tree DNA does up to 67 for Y-chromosome testing.

  • You just don't quit, do you?

  • Well I'm glad your happy but I was not impressed with the Canadian "DNA Project". Since Whoopie Goldberg was traced back to a certain tribe in Africa why couldn't I be traced back to a Celtic Tribe? My results said that my DNA traced back to the modern humans who entered Europe. Pretty vague considering all white people are descended from these people.

  • I don't know which test you took, but the Genographic Project reveals what your genetic haplogroup is, so you know who share similar DNA with you and where the mutation first occured.

  • Haplogroups like R1 don't really give much information other than they are modern man.

  • My R1a1 haplogroup is of eastern european origin. My surname is german but I could have some slav ancestors in countries like czech republic.

  • You can take the markers and match with others. Ancestry. com has a database. You can also enter your results at Mitosearch. com at mitosearch you can compare markers with other people.
