  • THE DONT MAKE HIGH QUALITY MOTION PICTURES LIKE THIS ANY MORE AS QUITE FRANKLY WE DONT HAVE THE TALENT ANY MORE...

  • Just a pure moment of cinema.

    There's everything.

Story, background, costumes, script, actors, directing.

    Everything.

  • Melissa i found this just for you baby , love you ha ha ha . Ole Josey Wales, Clint Eastwood, 1976

  • @davyboy176

    Lmao!!! I love you !!! !~~All smiles~~

  • Yes I am an Indian too. I am very proud to see the great Chief Dan George in the media. The Chief exemptlifies the character of some our elders. I have been fortunate enough to witness this mystical gentleness of many elders.

Without a lesson book of anysort, their actions teaches me to be grateful for the moment, forget about the past grievences (which I often find hard to do).

Perhaps it is the tone/intonation that are the spiritual aspect of culture.

    I Respect that.

  • Subtitles are always a crap translation of what they are actually saying........

  • This clip has endured more than 4 years and over 76 thousand views so far, and in the 11 "pages" of commentary it's garnered to-date, not a single syllable to disprove the one commentary it, and factually most all of Eastwood's movies, makes so plain. Conspicuous by its absence is the "sister" scene to this one, and maybe that's the best (worst? saddest?) commentary of all.

  • Come out! It's a good day to die!

  • @demibiz45 yatta-hey!!

  • only one comment. it's not lone. his name was lowell watee.

  • Always loved CHief Dan George's monologues. He certainly was deserving of his title. He had a storyteller's voice, one that you can listen to for hours as he would tell tales of days long gone. There was a quiet gentleness to his voice that made it sound so soothing. Rest well Chief, and be at peace.

  • Chief Dan George was in Little Big Man and Harry and Tonto as well as a great episode of Kung Fu

  • My favorite movie of all time. Dyin' ain't much of a livin' boy.

  • That's exactly what the politicians in dc have been doing to all of us for the last 50 years, "pissing down our back and telling us it's raining." There's just a lot more piss now and sadly, a lot people want to believe it is rain.

  • @badger305 +1

  • This movie is from a book by forrest carter. It is totally fictional. His political views may have been wrong but he was one great western writer.

  • Andrew Jackson put us in Oklahoma, why is he still on the twenty dollar bill? If there has ever been a racist and a cheat, Jackson over-ruled the supreme court, and still made the Trail of Tears. Put Sequoyah or Ocyoaoh on the twenty...Wado!

  • i love how the ending line is so easily spoken, "we declared war on the union." like its not a big deal or anything xD

  • Good the bad the ugly 1 Josey Wales 2.

  • i met the chief

  • I know a "CHILLY MacCINTOSH"

  • A pity that Chief Dan George made just two major movies. He had such a fascinating presence as an actor.

  • my parents named me after josey wales, haha

  • Josey Wales was a ficticious character.

  • double tounque' reptilian' masonics

  • 'It's sad that governments are chiefed by the double tongues

  • Everybody in the USA regardless of race should listen to what this clip has to say. We are all going the direction of the native american thanks to Obama's lies and his gang of crooks, and deceivers..sad situation.

  • Oh God, give it a rest already.

  • this is a greay movie

  • if you see a white man coming into your house, be sure to nail everything!

  • obama would rather lick camel ass///then make peace with the american indian///and do more for our people///like build some monuments ya son of a bitch!

  • @dogwillhuntt Build all the monuments you want. Who is stopping you?

  • Seems like we cant trust the white man.

  • ,,Hmmmmm, maybe the way to peace is the way of the evil white man, but only the white man can trust his own will of honesty.

  • lol

  • Maybe no one's right... maybe the only thing to do is to acknoledge a difference in opinions on many different topics and instead of bickering amongst ourselves on a Youtube message board like a bunch of kids with nothing better to do. I'm not calling anyone names here but please stop the flame wars on a "Josey Wales" movie board.

  • Off Topic..LOL

  • god I'll miss clint eastwood as an actor, i don't know if he'll made films as a director anymore, but i hope so.

smart, tremendous actor, a master in filmaking...

on hollywood bvd he don't deserves a print but a mile....

  • theres no excuse for drug abuse, but like they say, unless youve walked a mile in "THIER" shoes do not talk, and that goes for everyone acrost this planet

  • Chief Dan made the movie! This guy was great and is missed!

  • I miss quoted the line from 'Josey Wales'. I was recalling it from memory. The line is, "They took my horse and made him surrender. They have him pulling a wagon in Kansas I bet!" Still a great line!

  • This movie has got to have the best one liners of all movies, mostly spoken y Chief Dan George. My favorite is, "I did'nt surrender but my horse did. Bet he's pulling a plow in Missouri"

  • I like the part where the hillbilly says "Shut up lige".

  • Another good part with the chief is when he is talkin and Josey falls alseep on him!

  • The Chief Rocks!

Someone needs to upload another good part from this movie, you know - "don't piss down my back and tell me it's rainin'."

The greatest part about that quote is that he's talking to a Senator.

  • @cometepiace type in clasic line #63. that is the 30 second scene don't pisss

  • I love the chief. He makes the movie.

  • Chief Dan George steals the movie.

  • @zodiacbluesbaby naaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

  • This is cool. But it's really quiet, please make it louder.

  • Excellent clip! Best western movie ever made!

  • Chief Dan George was a great actor. I think he sometimes gets overlooked. He was also in Little Big Man. This movie is one of the best ever made.

  • i agree completely...little big man was awesome......and this movie was great....chief dan george was great...i quote his film lines all the time...and nobody gets it....gretins......lol

  • Great clip,great movie.Lone Watie and Clint are amazing.Awesome!

  • lol he fallz asleep!

  • The Greatist westerns ever.

    1. The outlaw Josey Wales

    2. The good the bad the ugly

    3. Unforgiven

    4. For a few dollars more.

    5. Tombstone.

That's 4 out of 5 for Clint, sheesh what a talent.

    Just my opinion folks.

  • is million dollar baby good? never seen it. but yea the good, bad, the ugly is very good!

  • Million dollar baby is very good...not a western tho. BTW I should have writen: My top 5 greatest westerns.

  • Great list (and very similar to mine)

    1. Unforgiven

    2. Outlaw Josey Wales

    3. The Good, the Bad and The Ugly

    4. Once Upon a Time in the West

    5. Tombstone

    6. For a Few Dollars More/Fistfull of Dollars

  • Yeh, to be honest, it often depends on what movie I'm watching at the time so it can move a bit. I wouldn't argue against 'Unforgiven' being at the top for instance.

  • It's hard to come up with a list of really great westerns as there are so many out there. My list is similar to yours and bazonics, except I'd have to include 'Tom Horn' with Steve McQueen. 'Culpepper Cattle Company' with Billy Greenbush and Gary Grimes. Best line in that; Kid "That's a nice horse. What's his name?", Cowboy,"You don't name somethin you may have to eat"

  • Gotta love Chief Dan's voice... He was perfect for the role

  • haha

  • Hello Josey3

  • LOL!

  • this is one of the greatest movie speeches EVER. Thanks....." and when we thought about it long enough.."

  • Thank you. It's three movies in one, the best movie Eastwood ever did in my view, and he made a lot of great ones.

  • One of the GREATEST movies of ALL time!!! A freaking masterpiece.. Clint owns!! Humor, action, drama and political as well.. I can never see this movie too many times.. This scene RULES!!! "White man has been sneaking up" on EVERY culture, countries and nations for years! Free Leonard Peltier, NOW!!

  • I think we all know what floats in a pool.

  • Interesting to see some ignorant and fearful statements regarding the American Indian. I'm Alaska Native and am not surprised at all :-)

  • "shit-floatpool, you may go in peace".palefaced twotounged twofaced snitch

  • "And when we'd thought about it long enough, we declared war on the Union." LOL! Classic line!

  • float pool, fuck you . they lived off the land and gave back to it. they tried to share land with white men...OOPS, WHITIES SHOOT THEM AND TRICK THEM ON TRADING DEALS. the native americans were not perfect, but they were not persecuting, land taking, earth destroying idiots, like you obviously are.

  • go to any rez and see what great stewards of the land indians are. the reasons indians were nomdic was because they trashed their living areas and moved on to the next. that's how artifacts are discovered by digging through their trash. now go back and live in your free government car, or I'll cut off your tax dollars and medical care

  • the indians did what they had to to survive, which included slaughtering alot of animals for food, and using the natural resources, just like we and everyone else does. We still screwed them by driving them off their lands without due compensation, as well as slaughtering them.

  • No, the reason that reservations are so "slum-like" is that the American government forced them off of all the good farming land, killed off all their game animals, and destroyed their culture and spirit and then forced them under pain of death to live on crappy patches of land where they cannot live like their ancestors. And since most people are racist idiots like you, they can't get jobs outside of reservations.

But like jackasses like you always say, the only good indian is a dead one.

  • I've worked in healthcare on the rez..I'm not seeing to many abused kids being beaten by the evil white man. I'm not seeing drunken white men stabbing the poor helpless indians. I'm seeing other indians killing each other, apparently they their motto is the only good indian is a dead one. Just like the murder trial I was a juror on, where a drunk cousin killed another drunk cousin on the Navajo rez. I guess us evil white jurors should have let him go free and jailed some white guy.

  • Wow, way to completely miss the entire point I was making.

I would like to see a bunch of caucasions being forced to live on a barren patch of earth against their will, have their entire culture and way of life ripped out from underneath their ancestors, and be surrounded by people who hate them and slaughtered their ancestors...

And yeah like no unemployed alcoholic white person living in a trailer park EVER murdered anyone *eyeroll*.

  • So Rodshark, what are you doing for the "poor native victims? I provide them with healthcare without prejudice..you sit on your fucking computer and pontificate like most commie libs..I guess bleeding your heart out for them is less messing than patching their stab wounds, or dialyzing their failed kidneys. Another worthless lib chimes in but doesn't DO anything.

  • Ah, I was wondering how long it would take for you to call him a communist...

  • youre all fools, how many whites are unibombers and serial killers, how many blacks shoot one another in gnag fights with the cubands and peurto-ricans, not the only people with issues, and what you think causes em, how you feel when youre nothing but an honored slave i think id drink as well, besides youre no one to talk you fucking priviledged child, like your hands will ever have calouses

  • Iburntitus:

What the hell are you talking about? What did I say to set off that tirade?

  • Yeah, it didn't take long at all did it?

Thats their standard response to everything.

If it is a minority, they are lazy, drug users that don't deserve to live cause he "treated their wounds caused by their nature"

If someone sticks up for a minority, they are immediately a bleeding heart liberal commie that isn't as good as them cause THEY treated their wounds (I feel sorry for any poor person THIS asshole had to treat)

  • Hyperbolic rhetoric does nothing but break down any chance of serious dialogue.

    "Bush is a Nazi"

    "Obama is a communist."

It's no wonder America is so polarized.

  • Well, besides try to convince racists assholes that not ALL native americans are unemployed murdering drunks that are supposedly worse than ghetto trash. And I am soooo sure they got compassionate care and a good bedside manner from the likes of you *eyeroll*

Well I suppose you would say the same if you worked in the inner city as well.

Commie Liberal? *lmao* Whatever, nice base assumptions without any evidence. I consider myself to be more of a middle of the road American.

  • Great Clip,Movie

Where can i get this clip in wmv format.

  • muy buena pelicula josey wales el fuera d la ley

  • "We thought about it for a long time...Endeavor to perservere". "And when we had thought about it long enough, we declared war on the Union".

Classiccly subtle comedy like this in all of Clints movies.

  • Can someone please post the ending of this movie, including the scene in the saloon with the rangers and Fletcher and then, of course, the classic confrontation between them. Thanks

  • To longbillxx and tsalaghi, don't get so smug with your Indian victim rants. A couple of simple facts. Indian tribes where wiping each other out long before the evil white man. Just ask the Anaszis..wait you can't they're all gone. Fact 2, if Indians could have invented M-16 rifles and Abrams Tanks there would be no white men here. Your ancestors weren't that good of inventors.

  • M16 and Abrams tanks are modern inventions you dumb ass.Neither is over 40yrs old.

  • wow, not only do you miss the point, your ancestors were probably owners of black slaves. check out the tribes in Oklahoma. Yeah the trail of tears victims owned black slaves. gee, you're right indian slave ownership was better than the whiteman owning them.

  • Shit man. Your right. Except with the whole Anasazi thing. They just got up and left. Moved south towards mexica, or along the Rio Grande. There is no evidense of them being killed. Just of them leaving and moveing out. Drought and hunger drove them out. But yeah lol we killed each other alot and if we did have those things we'd most likely kill every ignorant fucktard white. Notice I said the ignorant fucktard one, not all of them.

  • Hell I think we might even have crossed the pond and take over there if we could. But hey we didn't. And I feel sorry for every Ignorant fucktard Navtive who blame the the children for the the sins of the parents. Puts a sour taste in my mouth.

  • that doesn't change the fact that white men were the invasive species of N america.

  • And the Cheyenne and Sioux invaded the Blackfeet..but that's ok..right? Now how many slaves did your family own in Oklahoma?

  • It's okay, everyone makes mistakes, even white men. Just accept it and move on.

  • My third favourite western of all times after "The good, the bad and the ugly" and "For a few dollar more".

  • "Endeavor to Persevere"

    LOL

  • The States' problems all stem from a too liberal immigration "policy" by the American Indian (from a former presidential candidate, Pat Paulsen, if only he'd won).

  • Yea, my ancestors and others made the mistake of thinking the Europeans would treat them as equals and believing the U.S. Federal Government's promises.

  • A tragedy. Your people were stewards of the land for 1000's of years and took only what they needed. The later immigrants overpopulated and raped the land of it's resources. The net result of their "economic" overconsumption is excessive global warming, pollution and misery.

  • I really like when Eastwood says "You be Ten Bears". And the reply in perfect English, "I am Ten Bears". A western where the best characters are American Indian.

  • There is iron in your words...

  • Is it possible to post the scene between him and Ten Bears. Thanks!

  • Type in Ten Bears and it is right there.

  • my fav western movie
