  • i hate this song and they won't allow amhran na bhfiann(national anthem) at away games and that in any country would lead to anarchy i think but we irish must take it on the chin and not say anything. i think a split is in order and let the north have their own team like in soccer. that would solve it

  • Guys i always thought this song united Ireland in a sporting context, sport is not politics! Sad to read the comments.

    A Welshman

  • i <3 this song im British and i know all the words to this. i sang it in yr 6 @ a school called holy trinity

  • Is it time for for a Northern Ireland rugby team to start???looks likely they don,t want a prod about the place GSUQ

  • this song is terrible we werent allowed to sing a soldiers song because of occupying unionists

  • @Gillespie4100 yes 100% the boxers is united team and they use soldiers song so why is different in rugby and we can't use the flag either

  • what a moron of a song! my 3 year old cousin could write better than that..... its simple lyrics make irish people look like drunken fools blathering while trying to sing.

  • @johnofthethorntons its a fucking nursery rhyme simple as that i hate it. i refuse to follow irish team over it... it doesn't work. let them have their own culture and let us have ours simple as that.. nothing wrong with that. any otehr country there would be uproar over this issue

  • awfull shite altogether

  • PROUD TO BE IRISH!!!!!

  • Get the audio from this song at speedyconversion doht cohm.

  • ulster is basily northern ireland national team plus tommy bowe and no south african

  • north south catholic or protestant your still fucking Irish a religion dose not make a nationality so listen to the lyrics

  • Ulster is free. No Surrender. Still undeafeated.

  • well why not give us (northern ireland) our own international rugby side , and u's can sing what ever tickles ur fancy at the start of all ur matches......

  • Ulster British by birth British by the Grace of GOD I love my origin

  • @saintbryn .Ulster was born irish centuries ago lol, 6 counties out of its 9 are occupied by the british, thats all. Still is irish, always will be. The way u speak suld mean that im british wen i live in belfast. Hm, my irish passport wuld like to differ.

  • its tha best vid evea

  • Да здравствует СВОБОДНАЯ ИРЛАНДИЯ !!!

  • i like amhrán na bhfiann better but i like ireland s call i had to sing it when i was in 3rd class

  • Ireland!! Ireland! togheter standing thall!

    Shoulder to shoulder

    We'll answer Ireland's call!

  • Beauty music.

  • You know what Paul, as much as i agree with you, how about the other sports that us northerner's paricipate in at an international level, wearing green and white anve to walk in respresenting "Northern Ireland "as Catholics from Belfast and Derry and listening to God save the Queen! Thats whats disgraceful, forget the prods what about us catholics?

  • The Red cross looks very well

  • I agree with you \paulBarnes but at the end of the day is a great rousing song which non galic speakers can join into! Also we want an Ireland which is fee from borders and it is a rare site to see us united in this day and age! Up the RA

  • fucking disgrace were irish and we have to sing this stupid fucking song if prods from the north want to play for ireland the national anthem is Amhran na bhFiann its an insult tat we must sing this shite realy why are we the catholics of ireland being descriminated against again to keep them fucking prods happy this goverments just a fucking joke

  • i think its a rubbish song too, but keep the bigottry back abit, we don't want to drop to the level of those murderous loyalist bastards.

By the way whats with that flag, the tri colour is way better it shows unity between all, if thats what the west brits at the irfu are looking for

  • @willywonka12345678: If you're not sectarian, I would try something that merges both anthems like the canadian Vice regal salute, something a bit like this:

    God Save our gracious Queen

    Long live our noble Queen

    God save the Queen.

    Soldiers are we

whose lives are pledged to Ireland

    Some have come

from a land beyond the wave

Le gunna scréach faoi lámhach na bpiléar,

Seo libh canaig amhrán na bhFiann

  • @kanenkitten No offence but thats jus silly. I think irelands call is gud, jus needs to be sung in irish for at least half of it. ''God save our gracious queen''...We have no Queen

  • Check out Emerald Army a new song for the Ireland Rugby Team. Please comment.

  • That was good, we need to get ride of that so called irish anthem, the greatest prick ever made it up in a pub

  • this was made up in a boghole ie toilet

  • the four-partitioned flag represent the "four proud provinces of ireland"

the cross with the right hand for ulster, three crowns on a blue shield for munster, an eagle and an armed hand for connacht and a golden harp on a green background for leinster

  • @ kingofkings173: think of the beat as a synthesized bodhrán.

Anyway, though this is an unorthodox version of this song, it still gets my blood boiling.

  • @sligo74: is that because this one's a rugby anthem - probably why its not yours ha, ha!!

  • No Surrender

  • Not my anthem I can tell u!

  • Ireland ireland hahahahaha we won the rugby whho

  • what the fuck is with the beat it ruins the song

  • they do play both songs. they play both at home but away they kan only play 1 so they play dis 1 4 away games

  • read ya history :L am scottish thats like sain wit does the lion do with scotland :S

  • could someone tell me what or why does a Harp Represents Ireland!

  • The harp has long been a symbol of Ireland. Perhaps the legends of it's magical powers comes from the time when the bards would sing and tell stories of famous events to the Irish kings and chiefs.

During the early 1500s, under the rule of Henry VIII, the harp was first depicted on Irish coins. That tradition is carried on today and the harp is also used for other official duties such as the Irish state seal, official documents and uniforms.

  • fuckin pathetic song, and the irfu flag is a fuckin joke, rarley see the musnter players singin this shite,

  • if they really want to be neutral, then why not play both Irelands anthems and leave this out

  • GREAT!

  • J'aime !!!!

  • proud to be Irish i am!!! xxxx xxx Erin go Bragh!!

  • @xxkikixxmwah

I didn't know that Yoda was irish.

  • love this. and every time i hear it i feel like bursting with pride that im irish through and through!!!

  • i like that man thats why i love the rugby unites all the people of ireland for one team jersey and nation

  • im english and i love this song. i bet it makes you very proud.

  • Ye its a catchy tune alright but thats about it, its not the irish national anthem Amhram Na bhFiann IS!!! im fairly sure that the unionists in the North would prefer to listen to God Save The Queen! I am not trying to stir up shit here, i love irish rugby its the only sport in ireland where nationalist and unionist can sit side by side and not try to kill each other. Play the two real anthems at the matches and be done with this silly little jingle!!

  • Would it not be better if Northern Ireland nominated a new anthem for there country? And play both Amhran na Bhfiann and (e.g) The Derry Air instead of this? Nationalists in the North are not fairly represented by GSTQ?

  • Ye maybe, its all about a bit of give and take isnt it? The IRFU would have to sit down with the ulster rugby union and work it all out. I would imagine that the unionists would prefer GSTQ and with the unionists being in the majority in the north then the IRFU would probably go with that. But hay who knows how these things will work out!! IRELAND FOR ANOTHER GRAND SLAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I dont disagree with you mick, but the Ulster Branch covers nine counties, and unionists certainly dont have the majority in all of Ulster. I really dislike this compromise. I play Rugby, go to Lots of Ireland games. I think the North needs to nominate an anthem that represents both communities.

  • I love the fact that this represents the entire island.

United we stand, divided we fall.

  • I'm Scottish with absolutely no connection to Ireland in any way. I've never been and have not a single relative from there. However, this song is such a fitting anthem that even I find myself proud of the country and wanting to support them. Even got it on CD in my car it's that good.
