The S4 though is nicer, has two more cylinders, one more turbocharger, and can easily put down over 500 hp in stage 3. Not to mention ALL WHEEL DRIVE, not that dinky front wheel drive. So no I'll take my S4 and you can drive around in your toy.

Oh yeah, before anyone says "but that S4 beat the SRT-4" just remember that a 50 trim is a small turbo for a 2.4 liter. You could run a 500 WHP BW S300 on something that size and still have enough low end for a daily driver.
As a B5 Passat owner, I certainly have bias towards Audi products, however the reality is that an SRT-4 will probably come out on top most times. With a 2.4 liter engine to spool a big turbo and far far less weight than an S4, the SRT-4 is going to be the faster car. But it just depends on what you want in a car. SRT-4 is faster, S4 is refined, choose your poison.
@PassatMrT you do realize that a s4 is a 2.7l v6 with twins....it has a bigger engine and a lot less lag than a big turbo srt-4. Its lighter than the s4, but the s4 is only 3300lbs which isant feather light, but its pretty low. Not to mention its awd, no traction problems like the srt-4 has. its cheaper to mod the srt-4. But at the end of the day its a neon with a turbo....not like an a4 with a twin turbo v6
@crzygutrsnobrdr Not saying that the S4 isn't quick. I have a buddy with a Frankenturbo setup (about the same flow as an RS6 K04 hybrid setup). T|rugh is, a well tuned stage 3 S4 (at sea level) puts out about 400-450 WHP. However, there are plenty of SRT-4's that put out that power as well. Curb weight on an SRT-4 is 2970, curb weight on an S4 is 3380 to 3700 lbs depending on model year. 400-700 lbs is a big disadvantage. So, if I do the math, physics pretty much says it all.
@PassatMrT ut still with a simple ko4 s4 can run low 12's or high 11's depending on some variables. If you had a 380hp srt-4 it would have to be running on slicks to provide a time like that. Weight isan't that big of a factor for the s4 because of the imensce torque it has, and how quick it can put it to the ground...and no turbo lag, but this conversation is pointless, like all of these on youtube.its more of a suit yourself deal, and I respect what you like, and I hope you can say the same.

B5 s4 with tial 770's, big turbo evo, fully built supra (built it with my dad) and am test driving the rs4 right now as a daily driver....I think im going to go with it, other wise its going to be an e60 m5......m5 is way to expensive to own for my liking, even tho it has the sweet v10 sound and a lot more power, the rs4 looks better, love the v8 sound with miltek exhaust, manual,awd which i live in minnesota so get a ton of snow. all about driver

@mikhailSRT4 yep. I drive an S4, so, in a hard acceleration, you're in third gear in about 4 seconds (stage II). Shorter gears, quicker shifts, less inertia for the engine to overcome, faster acceleration than a 5 speed. Generally.

Exactly, and if you have the money for a 50 trim and supporting mods, you should also get yourself a DSP. With a good DSP tune and 50 trim with supporting mods you should easily be at 450HP... I've even seen a 50 trim SRT lose to a stock SRT because they didnt bother tuning it.

I think you can find a descent garrett turbo for not much more then a k04 but your right money is a big factor these days and hopefully you'll get a good build on the 1.8t so it will compete with the big turbo srt-4 ;)

I have a friend with a 900+ RWHP supra. And I never see him racing from a dig or a 20-30 mph roll. Why? Cause he has to much power and will spin.Even when he was at 600RWHP he was still spinning. No different in any other car , Your setup and power will determine traction. FWD have it worse of course but from a high enough roll there isnt a problem. or like I said throw some slicks on it and be done.Like I said Its not crap just a lil more complicated.

I dont think your grandma's Jetta spins through 1st and 2nd either so whats your point. And no It doesnt take more looking at and testing to make a FWD fast, it takes more looking at and testing to get traction with a FWD. You only run into traction issues with FWD cars when there modded, if so get a EBC that allows you to set boost by gear. If your having traction issues with a FWD car and the car isnt modded, I say learn how to drive.
its not just normal everyday stuff. like i said before with snow.. my gti was spinning in 4th going 30.. its not always driver error.. and it spins through first and second on dry summer days.. and i dont think her jetta spins in normal weather but in bad weather yes.. this isnt always about racing and how to be faster its to have a car that has traction when its needed.

T|rugh is, a well tuned stage 3 S4 (at sea level) puts out about 400-450 WHP. However, there are plenty of SRT-4's that put out that power as well. Curb weight on an SRT-4 is 2970, curb weight on an S4 is 3380 to 3700 lbs depending on model year. 400-700 lbs is a big disadvantage. So, if I do the math, physics pretty much says it all.

@PassatMrT ut still with a simple ko4 s4 can run low 12's or high 11's depending on some variables. If you had a 380hp srt-4 it would have to be running on slicks to provide a time like that. Weight isan't that big of a factor for the s4 because of the imensce torque it has, and how quick it can put it to the ground...and no turbo lag, but this conversation is pointless, like all of these on youtube.its more of a suit yourself deal, and I respect what you like, and I hope you can say the same.

B5 s4 with tial 770's, big turbo evo, fully built supra (built it with my dad) and am test driving the rs4 right now as a daily driver....I think im going to go with it, other wise its going to be an e60 m5......m5 is way to expensive to own for my liking, even tho it has the sweet v10 sound and a lot more power, the rs4 looks better, love the v8 sound with miltek exhaust, manual,awd which i live in minnesota so get a ton of snow. all about driver

@mikhailSRT4 yep. I drive an S4, so, in a hard acceleration, you're in third gear in about 4 seconds (stage II). Shorter gears, quicker shifts, less inertia for the engine to overcome, faster acceleration than a 5 speed. Generally.

honestly i think the srt4 should have taken these easily.. the k04s even with high boost arent capable of very high power... whereas the srt4 can.. im getting a k04 for my 1.8t and even after cai, 3"exhaust, and being chipped i probably wont even be running 300whp... by the way i love the srt4.. got a 1st gen neon which blows but i want to do an engine swap... just have to wait and see..

I am lightly modded running low 11's at 132mph and they say they lose cause they can't hook up and keep breaking their poly mounts due to massive wheel hop. Whatever, I have a personal hatred for skittles. Even on the road they try and time their BOV to go off as they fly by me. FWD + drag = fail. And no, I do not want to race from a roll against a 12/13 second car. I have a friend with one, and they do hit 11's. They are not fanboys and win/lose with sport

I have a friend with a 900+ RWHP supra. And I never see him racing from a dig or a 20-30 mph roll. Why? Cause he has to much power and will spin.Even when he was at 600RWHP he was still spinning. No different in any other car , Your setup and power will determine traction. FWD have it worse of course but from a high enough roll there isnt a problem. or like I said throw some slicks on it and be done.Like I said Its not crap just a lil more complicated.

no but regular life to.. i have a gti Vr6 fwd.. in the winter it couldn't even get up the driveway.. thats the only problem i have with fwd.. its not for when it gets bad outside.. i mean the srt4 is cool but now they are puttin more hp in it.. with regular tires.. just gonna spin and spin..

Could be driver error on your part IDK. Theres plenty of FWD winter drivers out there. You put ice under the front wheels of a FWD car and gas it guess what, its gone spin. put the same ice under the back wheels of a RWD car and guess what , its gone spin. Whats your point? Ive witnessed plenty of RWD cars just spin down the track at drag strips. Its all about your setup.

my point is not toward RWD because thats horrible in snow to.. my point is that on a dry day a 300 hp fwd will spin if you gas it to hard.. and a 300hp RWD will spin but not as much ( same tires and such.. not talkin abouta race track ) but a AWD car won't spin with 300hp unless you launch it.. and when you canNOT get up the driveway it isnt driver error.. its called Ice.. and the audi's get up it just fine.. and so do the heavy FWD. but my gti couldnt ( well my bro couldnt.. then i did it.

Your still not listening. I'm not arguing that AWD isn't the best, All im sayin is FWD isnt crap, just the worse of the 3. Your argument about AWD is plain common sense. I said it depends on your setup with FWD. With the right setup you can set boost for each gear, Spinning problem solved! So you got the car up the drive way and your bro didn't, does that not explain driver error? C'mon man, Your GTI is not even setup to drive in snow , you don't see me rally racing my SRT!

I dont think your grandma's Jetta spins through 1st and 2nd either so whats your point. And no It doesnt take more looking at and testing to make a FWD fast, it takes more looking at and testing to get traction with a FWD. You only run into traction issues with FWD cars when there modded, if so get a EBC that allows you to set boost by gear. If your having traction issues with a FWD car and the car isnt modded, I say learn how to drive.

its not just normal everyday stuff. like i said before with snow.. my gti was spinning in 4th going 30.. its not always driver error.. and it spins through first and second on dry summer days.. and i dont think her jetta spins in normal weather but in bad weather yes.. this isnt always about racing and how to be faster its to have a car that has traction when its needed.
