It's a home built replica of a B777. We use MS flightsim 2004 for the flight model and outside view. The avionics are all custom pieces of software that interface with flightsim.
All of the switches and lights are fully integrated into the system and effect the sim in realtime.
And that's it really... you need a stack of chipboard or MDF, serveral networked PC's and monitors, a projector for the outside view, some off the shelf flightsim software, a bit (ok, a lot) of programming knowledge, several miles or wiring and about 5 years of spare time.
