  • damn i wanted 2 c the bit when he splatted on the ground:(

    great song, GREAT movie

    1 of my favorite quotes:

Ken: We shall strike a balance between culture and fun.

Ray: Somehow I believe, Ken, that the balance shall tip in the favor of culture, like a big fat fucking retarded fucking black girl on a see-saw opposite... a dwarf.

    haha:P

  • thats my favourite quote too :)

  • Found it a bit racist myself.

  • i actually think that would be funnier if it stopped at the word culture. still a funny bit in a great movie though

  • 2 manky hookers n a racist dwarf...im goin home lol

  • haha that is one of my favourite lines from the film!

it's just incredible don't you think? this scene is so beautifully done.

  • goosebumbs!

    great song, brings back memories

  • hearing that song.....its been such a long time...brought a tear to my eye when i heard it watchin this film.....brilliant

  • This movie is one of the most hilarious movies i have ever seen.

  • cried to this seriously

  • The Great Patrick Kavanagh!!

Truely beautiful words from one of the most underated poets of the 20th century!!

  • what?? its luke kelly not patrick kavanagh

  • Patrick Kavanagh wrote it and Luke Kelly put it to the music of "the dawning of the day"

  • patrick kavanagh wrote the words and asked luke to sing it

  • I totally agree there pal...Im studying him for the leaving certificate and it is a joy everytime I open the book and indulge myself in the genius world that is Kavanagh.

''We are in too great a hurry...it is on the days in which we are idle, that provide us when no-one is looking with all that is memorable''

    What words!

Tá cuid mhór stuff ar Gaoth Dobhair agat a 'sportymike' nach bhfuil?

(I just remember you have a video of Gweedore people speaking Irish at the crannog)

  • the song suits the seen perfectly

  • jesus i love this song n this movie!! UP CO.DERRY LOL!

  • dis scene makes me cry...pity i didnt show d rest of it :(

  • me too, it made me cry in the cinema, emotional scene....

  • I Found this a great movie right from the beginning. But when this scene came up with one of my favorite songs, RAGLAN ROAD, it got even better!!!

I like ireland, the people, the music...

  • great to see such an epic irish movie, great use of raglan road aswel

  • Best film eva!10 out of 10!!!

  • Brügge sehen...Und sterben? Now isn't that al long title for a movie =) *German release

  • This was the first film i saw with the firs guy i then fell in love with. Yet nothing lasts forever...

  • YOU MISSED THE SPLATTTTT! lol...mint film, love it!

  • absolutely love this film, can't wait for more martin mc donagh movies

  • This made my hair stand on end. When I think of bravery I think of this.

  • i cried at this part in the film love in bruges love brendan love luke

  • I agree totally. It's easy to dismiss this film as a light-hearted vehicle for Colin Farrell, but scenes such as this have a great pathos that only features in phenomenal films. In Bruges is a minor masterpiece

  • too right credit to Martin mcdonnagh fantastic writer and amazing director he really made a film that is hilarious and also touching on the more dark dramatic aspecti really think irish film making is one of the best if not the best another example is damien o donnell with inside im dancing again humour and true emotion with love of live love of a girl and deep sorrow i jus think irish writrs and film industry deserve more recognition for their amazing work

  • yes, inside im dancing is another amazing irish film. such unrecognition, its rather sad, this film is amazing, i cannot stop listening to this song, i think a minor masterpiece is the best way to put it.

  • In bruges is my favorite film, i think Irish films are among the best in the world and i cant see why this film wasnt released in other countries. Masterpiece is the perfect word to describe In Bruges.

  • who is singing in the movie?? :S :P

  • Luke Kelly

  • ok thanx ;)

  • Not a problem. You can search for a couple versions that he sang. Also Mats Sundin is the greatest hockey player ever!

  • hehe okey. haha yeah!!

  • When is ol' Sundin coming back, I took a gamble on him in my hockey pool, he better not let me down

  • @abasanti It's the dubliners in the movie.

  • @abasanti I thought it was the Dubliners? Do forgive if Luke Kelly is their singer!

  • @lillejagen

    The Dubliners

  • patrick kavanagh fell in love with a woman on raglan road called hilda moriarty, she was 19 and he was considerably older, she was beatiful also. When he says her hair would weave a snare he means he knows this relationship wont last and that she will leave him,she is too beatiful for him but he doesnt care and he takes a chance and "passed along the enchanted way"

  • This was the best scene!!! So sweet!

    Thanks!

  • Raglan Road was wrote by Patrick Kavanagh the famous Irish poet, but could anyone explain it all? i.e.What exactly is he saying?

  • What a film :)

  • Wonderful song , perfect movie and a pretty much moving scene.

  • What a brilliant film!! the best iv seen in ages!! thats a brilliant scene! its sad and it makes ya proud to be Irish!

  • best film in years. I watched in the cinema and when this played i nearly cried. Absolute Genius work.

  • Best filem this decade! (there I said it!)

    feckin beautiful song

On Raglan Road of an autumn day

I saw her first and knew

That her dark hair would weave a snare

That I might one day rue

I saw the danger and I passed

    Along the enchanted way

And said let grief be a fallen leaf

At the dawning of the day

  • brillant song, brillant movie thanks aot 4 putting dis up

  • Yes..Best Movie I've seen in a long time..great scene and wonderful song * * * * *

  • Best film of the year!!!! Maybe even best performance of the year (Brendan Gleeson)

  • I agree. Let's wait and see what happens.

  • If you are waiting for an approval by Academy awards, it is quite useless. They are very unpredictable sort. All stupid committees are ;)

  • love this movie. Colin Farrell is so hot, being Irish i love this song.
