Nice reading.... Winner takes it all is a pretty good splitting up song but this one pulls no punches... Great songs are great songs no matter who is singing...
Thanks for posting! Elvis has said that Knowing Me, Knowing You is the greatest song ever written about divorce. His rough-hewn voice gives the song even more pathos. (Though the original, with Agnetha Faltskog and Frida Lyngstad's harmony on that soaring chorus still gives me chills.)
Fantastic! I have to admit, I think this song would have been a hit almost regardless of who had performed it, though it certainly would have if Costello's version had been the first.
Wow, I'm amazed any of this gig at the Royal Court was recorded. First time I ever saw Elvis live and such a great fun concert with the whole spinning songbook concept.
He's always gone on and on about the ABBA / Armed Forces thing, but this here's a brilliant demonstration. Aww, it's perfect! Thanks for posting, Lpstd1!
Any video of Elvis covering The Name Of The Game? He has been quoted as being astonished by the chord structure of that tune.

I am a huge fan of Elvis , but after listening to Marshall Crenshaw's version it's hard to buy into this one. Too much crooning.

Man, Elvis makes this song sound good! Thanks for post. Would love to hear what he'd do with Dancing Queen.

It's like his revenge against schlock. Must be a reaction to Linda Ronstadt covering him earlier.

naw bro. Elvis loves Abba. listen to "Oliver's Army" and think about "Dancing Queen." he's admitted that he stole from it.

Oh, and to clarify, by "he" I mean Elvis, not Edissodead.
