Yes, it does. The alter-ego (Maria) is actually honest about her emotions, transparency. When we "Talk like lions" it is just to try to cover our transparency, but, alas, it always fails. I know I have trouble acting "normal" (whatever that is) when I'm nervous, I believe everyone does. The lyrics do have many layers and underlying meanings, we will never know these magnificent lyrics became; nonetheless it is obvious that there is conflict within ourselves.
