  • That said, it is likely better to have a person subscribe to an established moral code than not. In the case of the religious subscriber (RS), outsiders and insiders can at least attempt to hold the RS to a set of rules or codes. If one is held to the standard of the law alone, then conduct may be justified by what the politically powerful set in place instead of on moral behavior. What is moral can be gleaned by placing self or loved ones in the other's shoes and asking, "Is this good?"

  • Acts 11:26 "And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch." These disciples were followers of Christ - a way of life, not a religion. American Religion (AR) is ceremonial but not a way of life that is patterned after Christ. AR is an organizational affiliation whereby its members, in most cases, can behave in any way they desire as long as these members contribute monetary funds and attend meetings. One can find lots of religious people in America, but scarcely a follower of Christ.

  • 90% of all Americans believe in a higher being, 75 are Christian. 50% believe in devils and angels, 1 out of 5 Atheists believe in God. Atheism makes up 2-4% of the population, even less if you discount Pantheism. Atheism has never been liked by anyone in the US, I bet Gays probably hate you bastards too. gays are becoming Christians, Science is joining Christianity, Atheists are hated more and more each day.

  • 1.How stupid do you have to be to think an atheist believes in God?

2.The percentage of American atheists is more like 15%. Do some research.

3.Being a hater is rather old fashioned. It does not reflect highly of you.

  • He's right you know. How can atheist be athiests if they beleive in god?

  • Are you saying atheists believe in a god? Because even by his made up statistics, he admits at least 4/5 don't.

  • No,no. I'm saying that Atheists do not believe in god. But how can Atheist be Atheists if they believe in god?

    Am I missing something here?

  • Ah, pronoun confusion. I didn't think you would address me with a 3rd person pronoun.

  • Oh sorry about that.

  • Are you a fucking dumbass? some peopel who believe in Gdo are considered Atehists, example is Pantheism, it's considered Atehistic but they believe in God. moron.....

Lmao you say atheists make 15% of America?!?!?! You really are a moron. Do soem research 15% is the ammoutn fo non-believers, Agnsotics outnumber Atheists 5:1. Morons liek you that think they have the smallest ammount of inteligence make fools of themselves on youtube.

  • No, pantheists believe everything IS God. That's the exact opposite of not believing in a god. Fail #1

Agnostics is an umbrella term: either you're a agnostic theist who believes in a god but isn't sure there's actually a god, or you're an agnostic atheist who doesn't .

There's a reason those agnostics on censuses are listed as irreligious. Fail #2

You've pulled your "5:1" ratio right out your ass. A 2006 Harris Poll found 11% were atheists and 16% were agnostic. (hint: 25% irreligious)

  • "No, pantheists believe everything IS God. That's the exact opposite of not believing in a god"

Whata moron, I just said that you fucking dipshit. Pantheist are considered Atheist when they aren't!!!!! That's how 1 out of 4 Atheists believe in God. Failure 1!

    "Agnostics is an umbrella term"

is this a serious ? The res of what you said was compelte stupidity, not all Agnostics are irreligious you moron. They are considered secular not irreligious. failure 2!

  • You would be recommended to change your argument against atheism based on % of believers vs non. It's fallacy: ad populum. Might want to address that.

I did say you could be an agnostic theist:

"either you're a AGNOSTIC THEIST who believes in a god".

And they are listed as those under the religious section of surveys.

Please read comments before replying, you fucking moron, sir.

"Pantheism, it's considered Atehistic but they believe in God".

    Says who?

  • It's just now occured to me:

    "secular not irreligious"

    They're the same thing!

  • ogirv101, you've ignored your being an intolerant ass.....unless you're proud of that.

And don't forget your comment was entirely a fallacy (ad populum).

And your spelling and syntax could really use some help before you start calling others morons.

  • Well structured argument. And it's not just America - I'm from the UK and religious people do much the same here, and I would guess it's pretty similar throughout the Western world.

  • I love this video. The picking and chosing is refered to within the pagan community as the eclectic faith, and all forms of christianity are infact eclectic because some pieces of doctren were kept, other discared and all completely morphed by interpritation. So infact, all religions are the religion of me. That is the basis of a "living" faith. It changes with the times and interpretation. Oral Traditions are the most subject to this living faith change over time. It's how religion works.

  • BRILLIANT! well put vid...

  • ALL RELIGION IS BS

  • Wow. What a load of stereotypes mixed with a mocking, arrogant attitude.

I'd also like to know what is 'wrong' with the adaptation of a violent religion to coincide with a peaceful time and culture that values diversity. Its not about individuals warping personal religion, its about adapting religion to survive in modern times. If it doesn't, you end up with the Middle East, world-wide.

I'd like you to point out a country without issues, then. Give me one country that has it 'right'.

  • Finally!

I've have been looking for some atheism on YouTube for so long now, but all I found was Islam, Islam and Islam.

    Subscribed!

  • The great American dream, why the hell can't they just wake up? Stop dreaming and come back down to reality.

  • As a nation America is infantile; its history is not that old. The people have been fed superstition and dreams (the American dream). I think the next coming decades we will see America start to grow up - that is inevitable - unless I am wrong. American culture is the flag (the dream) and the Bible.

  • Actually if America continues on it's present heading you will see it degrade.Want to see whats coming?Look at what the universities are teaching.

  • change the title to "organized religion". dogma has killed a good way of life. "one day is to God as a thousand years" that was the highest number they had back then and only for collecting taxes and counting sheep. evolution is real and so is God. do not condemn others on the basis of "religion". churches are a tax free haven and they have an agenda. that doesn't mean i can't know God without belonging to a church. open your minds, please....?

  • Commendable effort!

  • If religion brings out good qualities in people, and isnt used to take a self-righteous pride \ zealous violence, than its fine by me.

Religion means a relationship with God, so if people are closer to God or other humans because they indoctrinate the good values of religion than great.

Personally i like to think of us all as one. I think all that rings true with Love should be accepted.

And micro-evolution is proven not macro-evolution. So learn the facts b4 you believe. Including me!!

  • there is only evolution. No such thing as micro or macro.

  • Comment removed

  • How does the fact that micro-evolution is proven not lend itself to proving the possibility of evolution, or evolution itself? Didn't God supposedly create EVERYTHING according to Christian delusions?

  • i don't believe in you,but i don't slander you.....think.

  • You don't have to believe in me, because I can be proven to exist.

  • In theory

  • I really like this video. I think you got it right on. It's very interesting for us to percieve how commercialism has affected religion in general.

  • Point well spoken PotheadPundit. I don't know any religious people who haven't done this. Accept is people, there is no god.

  • Religion altogether needs to be scrapped. When you start killing in the name of your supposed "God", that's when your religion should be over with. No MAN will ever be able to tell another man where he'll go when he passes. Where was I the day before I was born into this world?

  • Half of you was in an egg in your mother, the other half was in a sperm cell inside your father.....

You have to go further back than just a day.....But I get your point :D

  • Amen, brother.

  • The christian cross is a sword. Constantine used it to conquer the earth.

  • Constantine was a Roman Emperor.

His ancestors, not him, conquered a good proportion of Europe. Furthermore, his ancestors did not do it alone. They merely commanded millions to their will.

    You are ignorant.

  • You get your shi$#t straight.......Constantine revealed in his dream an image of a cross, and on the cross it said "in this you shall conquer"

You are ignorant and incorrect. He started the process Noob...

  • good video man i like the pics in the end reminded me of a mad tv scetch great vid tho

  • lol hang in there

  • The term is solipsism.

  • Those people could just abandon religion altogether. Why make up more bullshit to confuse others.

  • "The American dream. You have to be asleep to believe it." - George Carlin

  • I was all prepared to argue with you but I find I agree. There's nothing wrong with having a belief system that fits you, it's much better than making yourself conform to another's system, just as long as you understand it's your system, and not the one and only Truth. It can't be, since you just made it up.

  • The Word is translated, then written and translated again, by men. They could have just made it up. More importantly, left things out.

  • I agree totally. I'm speaking to people who follow some kind of orthodoxy as well as people who make up their own religions. I was just specifying them there.

  • great vid!

  • You say that like it's a bad thing.

  • I made my own Religion, and I must admit it is quite self centered...

    Theistic-Scientific-Existentialism...

    Great vid...

  • Another good one, PotheadPundit!

  • This is hardly specific to American.(no I'm NOT American). Check out the Unitarians - they believe quite openly that people should learn as much as possible from various religions as well as science, philosophy etc on their own personal quest for meaning.Over a third of the congregation near me are openly atheists. They frequently debate. Not everything must be all or nothing.

  • I like unitarians :) But it is an absolutely crafted religion completely outside the realm of what is actually written in the Bible. It is interpretation and reinforcement of what people already want to believe, and then using a labeling system to categorise it.

  • Unitarians stemmed from Protestantism but has evolved and is no longer considered a Christian religion. Unitarians who also identify as Atheist or Deist etc out number the Unitarians who also identify as Christian. Very few of them consider the bible the direct word of god - they are more likely to quote historical figures such as Helen Keller than Jesus in their sermons. They are more likely to read from a philosophy or science book than the bible at a sermon. Questioning is encouraged.

  • ok. fair enough. I must admit I've never been to a unitarian service. Maybe I'll have to check it out :)

  • Yeah, I'm not sure how big the Christian-New Age phenomenon is elsewhere in the world, but I'm pretty sure it's not just Americans who practice that kind of cognitive dissonance. In fact I think pretty much all Christians are like that, since few of them practice stoning anymore.

  • that girl from Iran is actually from new zealand, she's a Maori, not a middle eastener

  • oops. I guess that proves the efficiency of google image search. Thanks for the correction.

  • I was going to say, that looks a lot like Keisha Castle Hughes!

  • All hail the whale rider! :) oops. but you get the point:)

  • Interestingly she played the Virgin Mary in the Nativity Story this last year. Weird.

  • Thanks for this video, it reveals the inner hypocracies that go along with a lot of mainstream religions.

  • Well... I prefer these deluded dupes much to those who are serious about their religion, *including* Leviticus!
