Okay, this stunt has smaller ramps and less run up, so that accounts for some of the inaccuracy when landing. They also used a computer in the Bond film to generate the calculations. Furthermore this stunt was done in 1972 at a fair before Bond and then tested 6 times before "Bumps" even touched the wheel.

If all he had to "be at the right speed and hit the ramp head on," why not set this up and do it? I mean it's just a few calculations right? Trivializing this stunt is a misinformed venture.
