Firstly,i am a HUGE Eddie Vedder fan and PJ are my favourite band,and I'm sorry to everyone,but Ed kills this classic Aussie song.Hearing Mark Seymour sing it on his own with an acoustic is just magic.

And as Aussies,we dont throw shrimp's on the barbie! Steaks and chops mate,then shitloads of beer :-)

@leesmartin I don't know. I felt the same about the Hunters and Gatherers but then found out Mark Seymour was gay so I couldn't identify with his version as much. I appreciate the sentiment but whenever I hear Mark singing it I get the visual of him being with another man and it changes the tone too much for me. I love vagina too much I suppose. PJ rocks!!

Sound on recorder too high when recorded. It should be down all the way. I don't think it was the reverb of amplifier that the band was using, because they usually record well.

this is a nice rendition... it really is! it doesn't have Ben H, it doesn't have D*A*A*S amazing harmonic accompaniment, it doesn't have the gritty realism of the original, but as it stands, and considering it's live, this is a truly heartfelt rendition, listen to his voice, he means every bloody word whether he wrote it or not!

I like the slight key change he uses on the chorus, but I wish he wouldn't fuck up the second verse. "I touched your head and touched your feet" gives the song the emotional imagery that makes it. I do however prefer to be kissed in 155 places rather than jusr 4, but that can be done in the daytime just as well! Powerful song either way.
