hey, i would like to know where you can get some 1/35 scale model figures, that are already painted. It would be highly appreciated if you would reply back.Thanks.
@fishingtrashcan Well, if your interested I sell painted figure occasionally on ebay, many other people do also, my ID on ebay is daspanzerman, but like I said there are plenty of choices, there is also a company called Oryon, that sells metal 1/35 figures, they are pretty good, but in my opinion, lack detail, but I'm kind of anal about that, lol, I always make straps and lots of photo etched pieces, depends what your looking for. good luck bud!
@sultanpuppy26 -I would normally use Vallejo Model color-chocolate brown as the base and some yellow and tan color to to create the wood pattern.Metal parts are in black, grey and white as highlight.
For Vallejo acrylics there is a something called a retarder. When you apply this onto your paints, it would slow down the drying process. This is great when you mix of paints.
I have some nive WWII German Busts coming foor xmas so i'll hope over to your website and take a peek, i've only ever painted Fantasy/Sci-fi so it'll be a nice change. Again another nicely painted figure. :)
That's cool mate. I hope you enjoy painting the bust. German WW2 mini's are a top seller. They really make very nice display too. I'm still trying to find more to time to paint some more military mini's. I hope I can squeeze some here soon. :)
You have inspired me to try my hand in painting miniatures again. Last time I did this was 20 years ago and I ended up leaving the figures unassembled because I just made a mess of them. Lack of talent? Maybe. Lack of technique? Definitely!
Thanks for sharing your experiences... saves us all a lot of time. I just went out and bought an 8 figure set for practice. I am just unsure about using superglue instead of tamiya cement as some modelers seem to favor lately. Any views there?
Thanks mate. The tamiya cement is more favourable for me now.The ultimate model glue for me is called Faller but it's very damn expensive. Take your time with the mini's, it'll definitely pay off. Happy modelling.;)
You are the type of person that really pisses me off, like you make it look really simple and the end product looks so amazing and I know if I go out and buy some 1/35 German soldiers mine will turn out like crap, but thanks for a great video.
Just being truthful, most people who do not paint figures at the moment would find it hard to do work at your level first off, in saying that I am going to purchase some 1/35 soon and give it a go cheers for the insperation..
brilliant idea to do the timelapse and nice choice of soundtrack...takes me back to the 70s when as a teen i painted dozens (maybe close to 100 total) of tamiya figures, though never getting close to your masterful level. gave up models while at college but decades later miss it still. thanks!
hey.. just wanna ask a lil coz i'm a newbie in this stuff.. how to actually paint these 1/35 guys? coz i screwed up my painting.. It wasn't perfect like yours.. i used small paint brush to paint.. is there any better way to color these guys or perhaps i really suck at painting?
This figure is by Tamiya and is used to recreate mini scenes n dioramas for display. U can get these at ur miniature hobby store or online hobbyshop. I use this type in military modelling competitions.;-)
For highlights you can use either the basic color (field gray in this case) mixed with some white or, if you don't like mixing, some lighter color that matches, light olive green or light grey for example.
I recommend drybrushing it on very gently to not leave streaks of color, but there are other techniques as well, just try...
I use oil colors as well and when they shine too much I use matt clear varnish to get rid of it.
Lifecolor LC 27 leaves a really matt surface, but use sparingly!
so do u just put the same bace color on with 1st 2nd shade cause im painting brit 8th army to look like Australian Infantry 9th Division "Desert Rats" should i use acrilic thinner and can u tell me if
Good job ! Nice blending btw the high and lows on the clothes.
Looks like a typical dusty summer soldier.
I would add some losen paint and scratches on the helmet, exposing the steel underneath and maybe abit more contrast on the face, perhaps more rosie cheeks and some dark toned grey/blue to get a slight feeling of unshaved. Thanks for the upload :D
hi thx for the video.

i am currently painting 1/72 revell miniatures. how do you get the darker shadows on the clothing mate ?
ZakB1991 2 years ago
Thanks. Just use a darker shade of the base color. Also apply a black wash for the seams in the clothing helps too.
