Great tutorial. I've just been drawing a black line around the character I want to extract, then selecting the background with the appropriate tolerance level that allows the section to be selected and deleted. The problem was I still had a tiny black line, and tracing the with mouse was time-consuming and hard on the hand. This is much better.

yes, but u need the convert point tool to do it also on the other 2 anchor points
