@dotcomdotauatfake I met my personal guide there, LOL. Anyway,there is a backpackers area by the Mekong in Vientiane called Mixay district. There, you will be able to coordinate all the travels by using the many services around there.

@knehredlum The name of the place is " Pa Nhorn", the river is Nam Nheum. It is like an hour drive from Vientiane. I just went by there again the other day.

My trip to Lao from February 01, 2010 to March 04, 2010 was also my first trip back after 30 years too. I don't remember much, but it was very beatiful. I love all the fresh fruits, food and so many places to go for sightseeing. I am going back in 2012, start a business there. I've recommended a lot of people give it a try...stay tune.
