UKG is dead (in my view)....certain peeps ruined it (won't name, unless challenged), tracks like 'magic' will always break trough, personally thought 'reasons' and 'raise it up' smashed...but shows how long I've been out...

I shall name So Solid Crew, Pied Piper (and the Master of Ceremonies), Sweet Female Attitude, Craig David, Luck and Neat, Wiley, Dizzie Rascal as just a few who brought and end to UKG as we knew and loved it.

Commericalised and totally ruined it. Some may disagree, but when they took it into the mainstream they totally ruined it for me. UKG as I knew it died in about 2001. Sad, but at least we'll always have the memories of Colosseum, Bagleys etc.!

I see where you're comming from. Even though I liked the early days of "Grime", it became more saturated when people like So Solid and Roll Deep became popular but Garage has been commerical in the UK since 1997. Before then, it was underground.

The peak was 97-99, those were the years.
