I've lived in Canada my entire life and have literally never met anyone who wasn't deeply proud of our public system. We do not regard our taxes as onerous; our government spends less money on health care here than the American government. We are a happy, healthy people with high quality lives and relatively low tax rates. Sorry to say, we consider the whole debate in the US absurd.

Government run healthcare is good only for the lazy, freeloading, deadbeats, who are too lazy or unmotivated to provide for themselves and their families. have you ever even talked to anyone from Canada? their system is absolutely bankrupt, and altogether a disaster. I know someone whose mother died in a canadian hospital HALLWAY because there weren't enough doctors and funds to pay for her. When gov't takes something over it gets a budget. Budget=limited amount of care=rationed care/decreased quality care. You can't add 50 million ppl to a system and not add doctors or nurses or hospital staff. Not true. A surgery to remove morgellons disease fibers from my friend's spine in Australia cost a total $2000 USD, his cost was $750 USD. Here, the same surgery would cost $30,000-$45,000 USD. In Australia, they have Medicare for all, so there's no inflated prices from INSURANCE COMPANIES!!! The Medicare is FREE for ALL in Australia. Everyone gets quality healthcare at a reasonable price.

Do your homework before you knock single payer. My guess is, you'd be better off.
