You know it, I saw this at the cinema back in '78, it was also shown on TV a few times after, the last TV showing was I believe back in the early 90's, unfortunately because of the new one it probably won't be shown again, the new one has better special effects of course but I much prefer this 1978 version.

yeah.. the special effects were cheap.. but i have to admit, they were VERY good considering this was early 70s. This episode had more wall walking than most.. most of them you didnt get to see spiderman but for maybe 2-3 minutes.. it was mostly peter walking around trying to figure out what was going on heh. There were several of these episodes made.. then it was canceled.. and ill never understand why.. it was great to see super heroes on TV. I miss Spiderman, captain marvel and Captian America on the Sunday afternoon movie. =(

Because Nicholas Hammond was a turn on to women and some men as well, producers felt it would be a good idea to play porn music as the audience masturbated and then once they had time to finish it would go back to normal. But they knew some of the audience would start again so youd have another sequence. It was very thoughtful and made sense from a marketing standpoint but there just wasnt enough scenes of Hammond with porn music so the series was cancelled. And people had to go back to porn!

that's because in `77 they thought the effect looked great and showed it A LOT. The actual stunt climbing was amazing, but the chroma-key stuff is a little weird looking. I think they took "wall crawling" a tad too literally. Even as a 6 year old I remember thinking there was something not right about this show, although my friends and I were mostly upset by the wack-o gigantic webshooter.
