I like old and new sugar ray. I just want to say this as a guitar player and singer, I don't know the reason sugar ray switched styles and I do wish they would do some harder stuff but as a musician myself(not pro) I do get bored playing all heavy stuff and really enjoy playing my acoustic guitar a lot more as I get older than I used to idk if it was the same for sugar ray or not but I am just saying playing the same thing all the time gets boring maybe they just want to mix it up?

But I still like the old school Sugar Ray better because it really takes me back to the good old days of rockin out to their first CD with my friends and skateboarding and everything. The first time I discovered Sugar Ray was before they became commercial when their video "Mean Machine" aired on MTV's Superock back in 1995. I doubt it if Mark and the boys will ever re-group and jam like the old ways.

I think there are three kinds of Sugar Ray, and I like them all. Grunge, lounge, and pop. For example, this song, the cover of Abracadabra, and Fly. They each have their place, and all 3 are uniquely refined for their genre. Clearly they're capable musicians with their fingers on the pulse of popularity.
