I've beem considering buying that guitar, but it looks like it might be uncomfortable to play, and I'm not a fan of the BC Riches I've played. If I could get someone's opinion on the guitar overall that'd help me out a lot.

it's actually very comfortable to play. you can rest it on one leg like a strat/les paul, or use the back cutaway to sit it up like a v. the only complaint i have is that it should have it's strap locks positioned better, as the balance is off. if u pay more and get the real signature one, the straps hold up better.

i love bc rich necks. it's thicker than a jackson, which i like, cuz jackson necks feel flimsy to me. that being said it's a lot less thick as you get down the neck and is way more shredderific than most guitars. as for roughness, the cheaper necks are kind grabby at first, but once you wear it in, you'll be sliding up and down with ease.

i would say that u shouldn;t get any digitech metal pedal unless u get the the distortion factory(df-7).it has a metal zone setting that sounds better than the boss metal zone and only costs about $120. it's not a multieffects unit, its a stompbox,but it has 7 dif. dist. sounds including the metal master and big muff pii. i would also recommend the line 6 uber metal pedal, as it is awesome. as for our other gear, i mention it in another comment on this page.

it's a gibson les paul studio,and he's playing through a crate 2x12 combo, but he bought a peavey half stack that he plays through now, and it sounds a lot better. i'm playing my bc rich kerry king warlock through a kustom 35 watt combo, but i usually play through that amp and a 30 watt kustom bass amp, and it sounds killer, even compared to my buddy's half stack. thanks for the comment, i'm gonna check out ur stuff too.

yeah, we basically write stuff and keep it simple so that if we find a singer or something, we have intro, verse, chorus and interlude riffs to sing or add parts to. we've always used our videos as rough copies so we can change them at any time. personally, i like simple stuff where u just lock in to a groove and play, but alot of people say its boring. i bet if there were drums and lyrics no one would say anything about repeating parts too much. thanks for the comment.

too long of a pick slide and try to use alot more vibrato on the bottom strings that is a great key on writing metal

the pick slide was too long and we stopped playing it that way a couple months ago. the vibrato thing really only works well on the slower parts, or at least thats when i use it most. sometimes on a fast riff you want all the notes quick and staccato. thx for comment, i'd like to see what kind of stuff you write.

try a line 6 uber metal on the insane setting or digitech's distortion factory on the metal zone setting(it has more bass and less noise than a boss metal zone). turn up bass and gain, lower your mids and keep your highs at 12 o'clock, then just hit those strings as hard and cleanly as you can.
