  • what if i cant do pullups?

  • there is a video showing you how you can do it. You step on something to get you up. Then bring yourself down

  • no what i mean is im not strong enough to do one.

  • right and the way scoopy shows in another vid is for those who are not strong enough

  • dude i love your vids, but whats with the hat?

  • Great video, I do pullups xD

  • Due to my phisical job the latt on my left is 3 times the size of the right wud u advice me to just train the right to even them out

  • just do the same thing as he does here except use a dumbell for your right side only.

  • ye thats what i have been doin just making sure i was doin right cheers

  • stop masturbating with your left hand and start using your right LOL

  • lol is yours the same :)

  • same here pull ups are the best and ez way for back muscles

  • You are a machine scoob. Love all your vids. I'd love to be ripped at 48!

What is your height and weight stats? How much cardio do you do and what sort?

  • sun cream win

  • hi scooby..!! aside from pull ups and inclined rows.. what are the other back exercises that you can recommend??... pull overs??, back extensions??, seated cable row??

  • Hey scooby.. i have a question. I've been working out for like 7 months or so and i've been feeling post-exercise soreness 1 or 2 days after the workout..

But recently i don't feel any soreness and i could be wondering if im not gaining any progress from doing the exercise or not moving on at all.Does soreness necessary mean that your workout is effective and you're actually gaining mass?

    Please reply.

  • I used to have muscle soreness usually after a leg workout, when I had a long break before..

Personnally I think that you should feel muscle soreness after increasing the weights or changing your program, but not after every workout, and not feeling any does not mean you will not gain any mass, that's for sure.

  • YOU ROCK SCOOBY !!!!!!!!!

  • You talk. But NOT TOO MUCH. You show and talk or give USEFUL Knowledge. You're the man.

  • scooby is the best! no doubt. thanks for all your knowledgable help!

  • I do have a slight issue with the incline lat row. It hurts my chest. I saw a video earlier and saw you doing a bent over row while seated. Thanks! I cant wait to try it out!!

  • This is a fantastic exercise. I do these with dumbells!

  • Thanks for your time in making this lat workout video Scooby. You're the man!!

  • Scooby is the best instructor I've found in youtube.

I have followed his instructions for two months now, and since then my muscles developed nicely. Especially for me who always do the home workouts.

  • yea i've been doing his beginner workout plan for about two weeks now using his techniques although i haven't seen any dramatic results, i've never felt better, scooby is the best instructor period!

  • WOW ur jacked.

  • could you tell me a few upper chest exercises?

  • Check out his channel.

  • incline bench press, incline dumbbell press, incline flys...

  • Thanks for the effort and dedication Scooby!

  • I injured my rotator cuff recently, and have to take 2 weeks rest so will be focusing solely on cardio and no lifting except for maybe legs. Should I maintain my high protein (180-200g protein per day) diet during this time?

  • With a fully saturated protein intake you probably need to be extra careful about putting on gains in new muscle areas. Your ligaments need extra time to catch up. Maybe this is why your rotator cuff area got injured?

  • Thanks for the reply, I'm almost positive the injury was a result of bringing my arm back past the torso whilst doing chest press on a home gym, and was aggravated over time with shoulder press and side raises, with what was probably too much weight too quickly, like you suggested. I'm going to be more careful with these exercises along with the regular shoulder stabiliser exercises that Scooby reccomends.

  • scooby got tan!

  • Hey scooby most of the time my muscles will get doms the day after(muscle soreness) but once in a while it feels completely fine the next day no matter how intense the workout was. its not like im overtraining the muscle group...could the time of the day that i workout have anything to do with it or is it my nutrition? also my middle part of my sholder never gets doms either. never ever. :( only the front from doing stuff like push ups, press. can anyone help?

  • As in my experience, we only get DOMS when trying to do what our body (or muscle) not used to or haven't done in a long time. It maybe beginner train for the first time, heavy lifter work on endurance (high reps) or high reps lifter work on heavy weight, too much overload, a trying new kind of exercise. So even if you do intense exercise but with the same routine for a while then most likely you'll not get DOMS. Just rest for a week, or change your routine and you'll get the GREAT DOMS.

  • Good video he knows what he's talking about

  • Seems like a good exercise, the lower back gets worked out in so many other exercises (squat, DL, even bench to some extent) that i try to eliminate it from other exercises as much as possible.

This exercise as well as sitting down for shoulder press are things which are really helpful, THANKS!!!

  • very nice and helpful:)......thanks scooby dooby doo:)

  • at 2:54

    "ahh that feels good" hahaha

    But great workouts man, thnxx

  • hey scooby, do you know any lower back work outs besides deadlifts?

  • can u perform this exercise with a flat bench?

  • Awesome video =)

I think you should make a video explaining the importance of recovery and rest, I learned that the hard way =P

Keep up the good work, and by the way, you're starting to have fans here in Portugal too!

  • Great video Scooby, but I've got a question for you. What's your opinion about pulldowns and rear pulldowns?

    I mean compared to pullups.

  • hey scooby ive been wanting to ask this question for awhile im a vegetarian and i want to know if i can still gain muscle even though i dont eat meat?

please reply id appreciate it : )

  • Sure you can, Rserafin1104, but you do need protein powder (contains no animal parts, what so ever), since you need a stabile dosis of protein while you're building your muscles. This is because protein is stored very poorly in your body, unlike fat, and thus you need it regularly. Scooby suggests you get some protein every 2-3 hours if you want to gain muscles.

  • hey there,

If I were you, I would go for milk, and nuts. Soy is pretty okay, but its also naturally produces estrogen(female hormones) in your body, so you might not wana turn to that. But my personal favourite would be milk.

But, if there is any way that I'm wrong, please correct me (:

  • I was just wondering what video editing program you use and where could I find it. Whats its name?

    Thanks and Great videos

  • Scooby uses iMovie and Final Cut. I don't know where to find these, sorry bro.

  • scooby i have been banned from your forum twice the first time because of repeated abusive language and the second time it says i used abusive language but i didnt the second time and i even created a new account , i need to ask you some questions too this isnt fair help

  • rofl :P

  • why don't you make a video about supplements?

  • lmao

  • Hi Scooby, i have two questions, first i have read to take protein after a workout, and carbs before, and carbs after and protein before. which one is better? and second, i have gone on your website and pretty much looked at EVERYTHING on there. you said 18 and up for working out, uh i am practically 17..haha but my dad used to workout a bit and he and some other people i know who work out have showed me correct form which i MAKE SURE TO USE when i work out...what do you think tho? shud i stop?

  • You need protein all the time. Choose slow digesting carb source for pre workout. The only time to avoid carbs (imo) is your last meal of the day which should consist of slow-digesting protein.

  • Hey man thanks! i appreciate it! and i will do that too

  • Thanks for posting Scoob! One thing, was that a straight bar you were using or EZ curl?

  • I was using a straight bar for this but would rather use a ez-curl bar. Trouble is, my machine needs a longer bar so the weights dont hit the stands when I do the exercise.

  • dude scooby ur muscles are awesome. and very beastly

  • now this is what im talkn about this is wat u call a natural bodybuilder.

  • hi i have a qustion i train for 6 monthns now

  • Scoob HELP ME: I have problem with my vision and i have to wear glasses ,especially at night when my vision is worst. Should I wear my glasses when i go running or not? I'm afraid that they'll fall and turn into pieces but it's sort of risky not to wear them ...you know..dogs...thieves... Please REPLY!

  • just get yourself sport glasses...

  • are you living nearby the airport? By the way.. i want to strengthen my wrist... advice me the proper way on how to do it...

  • Yep, I live under an approach path to a major airport.

  • Can you reply at my question? I'm going to cardio in 1 hour. Sorry for the rush....Thank you for your help.!!

  • I wanna know if you think 8 small meals a day is too much?

  • man ur not 18 ..ur a senior.. ..retard

  • "...amplified by HD." Yeah!

  • Thanks Scooby!, I get a lot out of your videos. I've even told my brother about you and he likes them as well.

Its always a shame to have some pinhead like HenningAllianz to leave an idiot comment on you tube. I wish there was a way to screen these jokers out.

  • your hat looks gay...and your muscles are smaler then your first video...that sad

  • He's 50 years old, dude.Shut the fuck up. When you'll be 50 your name will be found in dictionary near wheel chair and beer belly.

  • Thanks again for another great video.

  • ok i have one question so scooby can u answer me or anyone else can i take with 17yr creatine?

  • not gay, but this guy looks good. very thick but not anabolic steroid thick.

  • is that... bill nye the science guy?

  • Hey pruanelover4ever, that is the nicest comment I have ever got! Bill Nye the science guy is my hero!!!!

  • I use a belt when doing rows. Nice video, more advance videos scooby.

  • Hey Scooby, I just have one question and I hope you aren't offended by this. Have you ever, ever done any steroids? I certainly don't believe you have, and I even if you did I don't think it would matter that much. If you didn't, which I doubt you did, then props for you man. Best natural bodybuilder I have ever seen :)

  • hey scooby and viewers. im just tryin to find a video that scooby would be checking regularly so he can answer this for me, it's a question about chest. for my chest im doin press, flys, incline press, incline flys. my question is should i be doing the flys back to back or is it better to seperate them like i am

  • 1:14 hits bench with bar

  • Scooby I have an important question: in my country (Netherlands) there is no mention on nutrition labels how many calories come from fat. All the label says is the contents per 100 gram product. For example:

    Per 100 gram:

    KCalories: 55

    Fat: 0,3 grams

    Protein: 9 grams

    etc. etc.

This is off quark. Is there any way for me to calculate how many calories come from fat with this information?

  • 1 g of fat has 9 calories, therefore 0,3 x 9 = 2.7 kcal.

  • Thanks, but can I ask what source you have for this?

  • thats a friggin awesome tank.. nice exercise too.. and the video transitions are cool

msg me for a free invite to lockerz

(join before the site goes public)

  • whens the teens workout coming out?

  • thanks scooby! very helpful. I've never really liked dumbell rows either

  • да это ж гомосек XDD

  • he looks like a scrowny guy guy then muscle

  • Looking good Scoob!!

Ive been working out for 4 months now and Im already getting complements about how good I look.I used to be a skinny guy.

Im going to try these today!!

    Later gotta go workout.

  • he looks buff but looks saggy!

  • Can you show yourselves from the side?

  • lol.... like a cobra

  • like a cobra.... nice....

  • Scooby is it true that for women to get your abs to show you body fat has to go down 17%, and for men around 8%. I was told by a personal trainer.

  • are you gay?

  • how come scooby has weird skin?

  • he's like 49 or something like that

  • sun burn

  • My skin is actually normal, the color balance on the video is off. Havent quite got the new camera dialed in yet.

  • bud- don;t worry- no would have noticed- please keep posting-! i have introduce soo many people to you.., just an insite; my dad is my #1 motivator- your my next inspirational/motivator for self improvement! your just awesome! (my poppers is 54- competing in the canadian body building nationals this weekend in B.C.)anyways-- keep posting!

  • hey scooby thanks for the helpful video

Im wondering if you can answer my question. Ever since i got my bench i only bench pressed when i have a spotter, but when i dont i use the dumbbells instead. I was wondering if it still has the same benefits as using a straight bar?

    thanks

  • hey watup scooby, i wanted to ask you a question regarding to cardio is it good or bad to do your cardio like running with plastic trash bags on?does it enhance your fat burning? i'm also open to any one elses mature response.thanks.

  • it will make you sweat more, raise your core temp, not sure a bout heart rate tho but probably so it would burn more fat

  • I think that would just make you sweat water weight off... kind of like not drinking water

  • Sorry, you cant sweat fat off. The weight loss from sweating is temporary and its just water. To lose fat you need to eat less and exercise more.

  • what is a good work out for the trapezius muscles so it looks good in dress shirts

  • shrugs are the most basic execrcise for traps but cleans work great too. i recommend hang cleans or seated dumbell cleans as they will work your shoulders as well. you won't really need power cleans unless your a football player, a wrestler, or some other strength athlete.

  • scooby I have been working out really hard for about 4 weeks and I have gained about 3 pounds do you think its muscle

  • And yet another great video :)

I used to suffer from back pain that gave me nasty headaches, too. Finally, after 6 months, I found a physio who helped me fix it. I then decided I didn't want to go through this ever again and had to do something to prevent it from recurring. That's when I went looking for suitable exercises and found your vid's, showing how to *not* injure oneself. Surprisingly, after only a couple weeks I could do pullups. Me, chronic-back-pain girl.

Keep up the good work :)

  • PS: Amongst many others, your video in which you're reading that 'Bianca' romance thingy, is one of my favorites. I translated many of them. Hence the back pain, I guess. But like I said, doing some of your exercises 3 times a week and I'm just fine, despite sitting in front of the computer for 8 hours a day.

    Greetings from Germany.

Oh, and kind regards to Hans!

  • wish all people wer fit

  • Hey boooomchakalaka, as a vegan you have a big advantage. You already know a lot more about nutrition than your carnivorous friends, you have to. Lots of challenges too, first because the protein density of legumes and soy is much lower than meat you need to eat much more of it. There is no room for wasted calories in a vegan diet. I would do some more research on soy, I think you may have prematurely written it off. I believe that negative press has been refuted.

  • i've been following scoobys excersizes for 3 months now. and have genuinely seen some brilliant results without spending lots of money. hes site is really good too.

anyway just wanted to say thanks to scooby.

  • As vegetarian, try to gain your neccessary protein household by consuming low-fat milk products. In my view, as I eat meat aswell, I love to drink a lot of milk because it's even good for the bones, makes them tougher.

  • "Aah, that feels good!"

    5/5

  • eat meat. be a vegan is a bull$shit imo

  • im 26 years old and 5'6 1/2 i do invertion table and body building for 2 years, and take all kinds of multivitamins like centrum magnecioum and calcium and L- arginine can i still grow at least an inch in about a couple of years of doing this? some one please

  • Sorry elgoose2003, There is no reason to believe that any of those things will make you taller. 5'6" is a great height for a bodybuilder! Its much easier for you to look massive than taller folk. If I were you, rather than spending time on your inversion table I would take up some fun sport.

  • nice vid man but it looks like u got alot of bady fat,u could much more defininition if lost some but thats my opninian and what is the difference between wide grip pull ups and narrow grip pull ups just meassage me on youtube plz thx

  • His Body Fat which he has little of, keeps him from looking nasty, i personally don't wanna see all my insides along with my muscle and wide grip pull-ups are ALOT harder to do then narrow grip

  • Cool fish tank.

  • i enjoy watching your exercises in hd. some of the most crystal clear videos on youtube. thumbs up for the quality!

though i missed some farting in this video...just kidding ;)

  • Hey Scooby! You are THE MAN! haha i am 16 years old, i have been lifting on and off, i started up about 6 months ago and decided to STICK with working out this time, and i did...but i was very discouraged after a while as i wasn't feeling sore the next day like you should, i didn't quit working out though, and searched repeatedly for answers.. i found some good advice from another bodybuilder and it worked, but i saw your one bicep workout and followed it....boy am i sore today!! thanks scooby!

  • any1 no where to get apull up bar in central scotland?

  • play ground bars?

  • Use a tree. I'm not fucking with you. It works.

  • Get them from argos and places like that

  • im in paisley, and your best bet is the internet.. hundreds of places on there.. or you can pick a cheap one from like argos or something.. i'm sure asda does one too

  • hey thanks scooby but i wanted to ask if im 26 and still goin to changes in my body like growing new body hair and thicker in areas that i didnt had any hair, does that mean im maybe growing still a litle later than others?

  • ty man

  • scooby you are the man keep up all the good work on all your vids i realy like them

  • I dont have a pull-up bar ,but i just use my shelf cub board as my pull up bar,but some times my hands hurt lol.

thanks for this video scooby,u rock.there is no wonder calling you as arnold

  • hey Scooby your workouts and schedules on your website and youtube are doing great for me, what do you think about kettlebell workouts and crossfit?

  • before i say anything i just wanna get this out of the way i'm 15 and can only do 2 -4 pull ups at a time ... should i use the lat pull down till i get stronger or should i do sets of pull ups of 2-4

  • you could try assisted reps until about 8 reps on your own. or you could do negative reps. get on abench or a chair or whatever you have at your disposal, then while in pull up position jump so your chin reaches the bar and then lower yourself slowly and repeat. either method should help you build up to regular pull ups.

  • lol two words "No Homo"

  • Was lookin' at that smeared white mess on your back lol ALWAYS protect against the sun! Thanks, Scooby!

  • Did you oil yourself up? God, your videos make me sad. and I've only been weightlifting for 6 years =(

  • my bad samberg

  • you look like ripped version of andy sandberg.

  • Hey scooby one simple thing go on youtube and look up sandow the world's strongest man and look at the link to the website let me know how much of a rip off it is

  • hey scooby dooo - are you gay?

  • Can lat pulldowns be substituted for pullups? Im sick of using those belts and dangling a 45 plate between my legs for increased weight, and its only going to get more uncomfortable as I get stronger.

  • I can reply for you. Scooby will say exactly this: there is no substitute for pullups. So lat pulldowns are no go either.

The guy really means it. No substitute. At all.

  • Of course, the reason I dont suggest lat pulldowns is that very few people have access to them. Lat pulldowns are good for the very strong and the very weak. If you have several 45s hanging from a belt though, you will run out of weight on the pulldown machine too.

  • Scoobs thak you for your grass roots workout regime. It has helped me very very much. YOur focus on diet and exercises are tremendous

  • scooby you're famous!!

  • Which is the right milk to choose, i can't buy non-fat milk? 1,5% fat or 3,5%? i want to gain muscle but not loose weight.

  • how can you not buy non-fat milk? It should be right there next to the other milk types.

Anyways, if you can't for some strange reason, I suppose 1.5% is probably your best bet. If you are overweight or have a lot of fat, then yes you will have to lose the fat and build back the muscle. What would you rather? Weigh 200 pounds and be fat, or weigh 175 of pure muscle? Get the fat off and build the muscle back.

  • Where can I buy the hat ... I want it to say "Hat by Scooby, Body by Hard Work."

  • vielen dank fuer alles herr scoob hehe

  • i think you try to hard on your speech. great videos though

  • jUST FACE IT PEOPLE YOU CAN NEVER LOOK LIKE THIS MAN HE WAS BORN THAT WAY SOME PEOPLE WERE BORN RIPPED AND SOME WAS BORN FAT AND RIPPED PEOPLE WILL NEVER BE FAT NO MATTER WHAT THEY EAT AND FAT PEOPLE WILL NEVER BE RIPPED NO MATTER WHAT THEY EAT.jUST LIKE HAVING A BIG PENIS IF YOU ARE NOT BORN WITH IT THERE IS NOTHING YOU CAN DO PROTEIN SHAKES ARE THE BIGGEST WAST OF TIME AND MONEY YOU WILL NEVER GET RIPPED UNLESS YOU WERE BORN THAT WAY

  • its all about dedication you moron.

  • wrong

  • Maybe there is one person on the planet who is born with a fantastic physique and can maintain it without doing anything, the other 4 billion people have to work hard to getting and maintaining a great physique. Time for some tough love here, stop making excuses and start sweating - nobody is going to give you a great physique, you have to build it with hard work.

  • Hi , your videos are great .but i wonder to know how many times per week it is best for me to train , plus i'd like to know how man hours per sestion , because i'm really becoming tired

  • check out the Ask Scooby forum. Your questions will be answered there.

  • i agree , especially regarding the protein shakes

  • thanks Scooby

    very informative

  • Write a book Scooby!!

  • is funny !!

    lool

  • God bless you scooby

  • Scoob looks more and more ripped everytime I watch another video .....!

  • Scooby, i just did this exercise for the first time 2 days ago, the next day my lats didn't feel any very sore, however my entire shoulders have been extremely sore ever since.......feels like i did an intense shoulders workout....i'm guessing i did something wrong

  • i doubt you did anything wrong. if your new to rows then it safe to assume that your rear delts were holding your lats back. since rows are compund excercises they rely on more than one muscle that would include your back, biceps, and rear delts in order to lift the weight. dont worry just continue to do the excercise correctly in a progressive manner and everything will balance out and you'll be able to hit your lats harder

  • you were born looking like that so stop fooling people into thinking they can look like you

  • not rlly...i was 182 lbs..with 34% body fat..n thnks to this guy who inspired me...i lost weight..n gained lean muscle mass...im at 10% body fat at 133 pounds..juss cuz ur too lazy to workout dun put others down...he is 48 n hes maintaing tht body..which is remarkable..nobody is born with a six pack.unless ur dad was like a steroid chugging body builder...u hav to earn everything in life.

  • as a kid i had a gut and skinny everything else. it never changed til i hit the gym and started lifting weights. within a year everyone was complimenting me, asking me what i lifted, and if i was interested in competing. Honestly, the human body is an amazing tool. But only a few people have the willpower. Obviously you don't.

  • if you look at his website you can see how his body has changed over his whole life....

  • how far apart is a good grip for this exercise, shoulder width?

  • Use an underhand grip (palms facing forward), you elbows brush against your sides. Use whatever grip width lets you use that form.

  • alright, thanks for the help
