hey guys does anyone knows the name of the music that plays during a scene when Dr Manhattan is dressing up his suit...a little bit before he puts the photo in his pocket and teleports
I really like Pruit Igoe! I downloaded the Watchman soundtrack. I like classical music that conveys a darkness. If you like Pruit Igoe you guys should try Mozart- Dies Irae
Man goes to doctor. Says he's depressed. Says life seems harsh and cruel. Says he feels all alone in a threatening world where what lies ahead is vague and uncertain.
Doctor says "Treatment is simple. Great clown Pagliacci is in town tonight. Go and see him. That should pick you up."
It sounds a lot like Pink Floyd's ''Atom Heart Mother'' I love it! was a little embarassing when my GF walked in with me passionately listening to that.
@FireKracker44 Whoa i don't rememmber why i wrote this....this was so long ago....i know 3:38 I saw the movie and I know that part. I don't know why I wrote this....
I don't know if anyone else concurs but, I immediately reminisced on Ecco the Dolphin 2 for Sega Genesis when I heard this soundtrack, something short of what space and time stand for...
I have played games since I was two years old and I have never played anything that had so much impact like Ecco 1 and 2
The scores went perfectly with everything...the graphics-stunning, plot-unique...it was the game that would let you save the world and have a pet dolphin at the same time...as a matter of fact, one of the levels is named in tribute to Pink Floyd's "welcome to the machine"
who many, I believe, would concur that pf is otherworldy like this very score here.
36343438 - may be tipping my all time top list. What a plot! I thought the bit were Dr Manhattan was created was nothing short of incredible - from the accompanying soundtrack to explanation behind his creation, superceded only by the line - 'this is the last time I feel fear' as the last second of his life ticks away.
his whole character was well portrayed. But i think zack did a great job as you say directing that sequence. I love how Manhattan (and the actor) are so quiet and balanced unlike the other hero.
He can silence everyone with a sentence.
my fav is something along the lines of
"My father gave up clock making ever since Einstein discovered Time is relative" its so true. And when they talk about the doomsday clock. "It means as much to you as a picture of oxygen to a drowning man" sry been a while
Ok sonny - let's consider his situation, which is, he believes he is about to die; now explain how 'consideration of this situation' can make a significant difference between the sentences "this is the last time I feel fear" or "I feel fear for the last time". They both have exactly the same implications i.e. he will never feel fear again after that time! Explain, if you can.
Koyaanisqatsi was the film this was originally composed for. I think the chose this song as Dr. Manhattan's theme because basically the film Koyaanisqatsi is pretty much how Dr. Manhattan views the world.
yeah that film is really really strange i have it on DVD and when i watched it i had like no idea what was going on but now i do :) there is another film in the series isnt there :)
Its actually a trilogy. I can't name the other two films off the top of my head right now because I haven't seen them but I'm sure they're easy to look up. I first saw Koyaanisqatsi on a big screen in an experimental film class so it was quite the experience. Nothing else like it really.
Wow i adore this song! And the movie's even better! Definitely one of the best, PERIOD. Screw everyone that doesn't like it, it's a masterpiece in filmmaking no matter what you say. In reality, and this case, your opinion doesn't matter. Because it is FACT that it was made nearly flawlessly. Thank you for uploading this.
I mean, some people were talking shit about this movie (specialy fanboys- hard to please, arent you?) because some things changed, but, damn it; the soundtrack fitted perfectly, and yes, somethings were changed, but its not like that doesnt let you enjoy this great graphic-novel adaptation!
Things about pieces of music like this. They never stop stop stiring up the emotions of that time. Philip Glass reminds me of the threat of nuclear war, ecconomy in toilet and all sorts of other issues of the day.
I'm asking myself? Do you have made a mounting of the two songs wich are from Pruit Igoe & Prophecies and take a bow by an orchestra? Or is it the real song?
Where did you got that version of Prophecies? I have been searching for it like crazy.
