@m443100 I know Sean Bradley occasionally makes a couple of ODST suits from time to time. All of this stuff is home made though, no major production stuff aside from the low-quality Rubies suits (which are overpriced IMO). You can look around the 405th.com classifieds section to see if anyone is offering anything or check on e-bay, but otherwise you would have to commission someone privately. Considering the amount of time to make a custom suit, the price can be steep though.
Yeah...hah, it's very game inaccurate and held together by duct tape and hopes and dreams. Hopefully can make a better one some day. Helmets did help raise some good money for the Childs Play Charity though!
I know this video was posted a while ago but I was wondering how much the ODST suit cost to build and roughly how long? I was interested in building a suit of my own and wanted to get an idea of what's involved. Totally agree with your argument though, that guy is a douche
@MissSophia80 I would estimate I spent around $500 and 1-2 months to build the ODST suits using the pepakura/fiberglass method. Generally in costume/prop making the "you can have it good, fast, and cheap, but only two of those traits at any point in time" rule holds, so if you're on a budget and willing to take your time, you could likely build one cheaper. I'm not on this channel too often, but if you have any questions, I'll be more than happy to share any knowledge I have.
@stardust2803 It would be! Just make sure you take a lot of safety precautions, since most molding plastic and fiberglass isn't built to take a paintball hit. If you build a helmet, be sure to build it around a facemask that meets paintball safety standards.
@325zech 24. And considering Microsoft/343i eventually hired the REAL makers of the suit to build the Halo 4 costume, I think it's important to care enough to recognize and give credit to the correct people. I'm touched you care enough to comment as well, fuckass.
@torridestsnake6 Hah, well these suits are hard to run around in (except the ODST, since I based it off of modern military armor layouts), and they can't take BB hits too well (fiberglass splinters and fragments), so if you're going to be invincible, first thing is to make sure you use a safe facemask as a base for protection!

@The666Reaver Glad you like it, and thanks for the compliments! There are several 405th members in the UK you could probably talk to and find out how to make things on that side of the pond. You might look into sculpting and molding as well.

If I ever build another suit like it, i'd definitely go the sculpt, mold route. I had an idea for using a semi rigid foam liquid in molds, that way the suit would be flexible and more durable. Keep up the good work.

@RedHawkHiddenFace Too heavy for me! And I've run around with full body armor (SAPIs) and ruck before. Nobody uses steel body armor these days for good reason. It's all about composites. =P
@gmg921 Do you see how the skull is scratched in? Some of those scratches go all the way through so I can see through the slits. It's not perfect, but it was a little stopgap measure just so I could wear it at a con.

@bfvweltfrieden Clone warrior armor is awesome! The 501st costume group has a lot of neat examples. If you play with softair, just make sure to design it with safety in mind by using paintball masks, etc. in the design.

@AirsoftMike999 I just hot glued or velcroed it in...not the best method since it needs to be repaired regularly! Good enough for con, but if you're looking for airsoft, you might consider little bolts, screws, etc.
none of these suits hold a candle to the ones made for the "Halo Reach: Deliver Hope" Trailer best suits ever, Search "making of deliver hope" so awesome

@PhotoShopwh0r3 Correct. The creators of those suits, LegendaryFX, are better known as the world famous Stan Winston Studios. Check out their behind the scenes docs! I was lucky enough to help 343i with their suits in Seattle. Amazing craftsmanship and....believe it or not, they're made of foam.

@AirsoftMike999 I just hot glued or velcroed it in...not the best method since it needs to be repaired regularly! Good enough for con, but if you're looking for airsoft, you might consider little bolts, screws, etc.

@PhotoShopwh0r3 Correct. The creators of those suits, LegendaryFX, are better known as the world famous Stan Winston Studios. Check out their behind the scenes docs! I was lucky enough to help 343i with their suits in Seattle. Amazing craftsmanship and....believe it or not, they're made of foam.
