I have an iMac OS X 20" as my primary computer and will be receiving my Air in the mail in a few days. Honestly, for college, the Air seems to be a much, much better choice than the iPad. Worth the money.
4:14 Are you now using your airbook as your primary machine? Could you give an update on the current state of affairs now that you have the machine for over a year?
I've been toying with the idea of getting this as my secondary laptop, the iPad just doesn't cut it sometimes. You helped me make up my mind, great machine, great review, thanks!
I think for everyday use its perfect, I´m selling my iPad and will get one of those for college but I do have one concern, the thunderbolt port, how am I going to do presentations with it since 90% of college projectors still use VGA ports, is there any adaptor for that?
@2011applestuff I know you asked him but I figured I'll say something. I used to use my iPad for everything that I didn't need a printer for, but only because our really old Mac took ages to load, now I have the MacBook Air it hardly takes any time to turn n, so I find myself using the MacBook more.
@2255elli depends what you use it for... I do web designing with iWeb so for me, the air would be better... if you don't use it for this like that, and just wanna play apps and what it for facetime, movies, pictures, games etc... then maybe the iPad 2 is better. I always tell people, if you don't know what you like best, go to the apple store and just try them out... don't buy anything too fast cause unless you have a bottomless bank account, but try out the products and see what you like best
Awesome review. I currently have an '07 white MacBook and I'm considering buying a new computer in the near future. I'm considering buying one of the new 13" MacBook Pros, but I'm also considering an 11" Air. I mainly use my computer for web-browsing, emails, and writing papers for school. My thought was, if I were going to purchase the 11" Air, I would purchase an iMac sometime down the road to use as a primary computer. What are your thoughts? Thanks!
I use a custom built desktop I made for Photoshop and gaming, I love my macbook air since I can use photoshop on the go to make little things like logos and stuff, some games do run perfectly fine, only prob I have is battery life and hd space. I bought an external hard drive, might get an external battery soon.
Love the World Sticker on the Wall? Or is it painted. Also what city you located in Australia? You need to do some more vblog its a lot easier, i have found reading posts tiring these days.
WiZeR911 - thanks for the feedback. Yeah the focusing on the GF1 is touchy - although turning AF off I find it's either in or out and you can end up with whole vids completely out. The GF2 that comes out next month looks to have improved this - looking forward to playing with it!
Thanks Darren. Two points. Firstly you need to turn auto foucs off in these videos. Also I much prefer this camera angle for your videos than the extreme close up head shot.
Great review Darren, i too purchased an 11'' MacBook Air to compliment my 17'' MacBook Pro and have come to the same conclusion as yourself - sensational little machine!
thanks for the thoughts. The air does look nice, I have been considering one for a while but it is hard to justify with a 15" laptop, ipad and iphone already :)

@MrCheesebear Yush xP There's VGA adaptor. You can get it at the apple store for $29. I'm really considering on buying one too.
