While you bite and devour one another over who is most Calvinlike Satan has a good laugh. Rather than holding forth the word of life you are holding forth Calvin's word. Calvinism is the gospel? Are you insane? The wisdom that descendeth from above is pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be entreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy. If ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth. Know Christ Know peace
Now that John W. Robbins has passed away, I wonder if Monty Collier thinks that he is the only living person on Earth who understands the essence of the Gospel... Well, Fred Phelps might be another enlightened believer, but MC's biggest criticism of ol' Fred seems to be that he subscribes to Lordship salvation. Oh, the humanity.
I'm not a Calvinist, but people like Monty Collier make "Reformed" Christianity look COMPLETELY unloving and heresy-conscious to the point of theological paranoia.
The amended 2008 Copyright Act states a person automatically has a legitimate copyright and any work is their legitimate intellectual property if the material was published 1) on the internet and 2) as an individual. Furthermore, the Penalty Section of the Copyright Act prohibits filing "false copyright complaints" against individuals. They can only be filed against corporations.
In a way, I'm actually glad this happened, maybe in this way his supporters might finally see RedBeetle's true colors(no pun intended), and if they still don't, well, then, there is really nothing more to say other than, "I would appreciate that you make an about face and continue marching to the direction from whence you came, thank you."
Wow, Monty is more and more depressing than ever lately. Nobody is going to take him serious any more. It's like he's version 2 of that AndrewCBain guy, remember him?
LOL! The footage of Pryor (& Dennington) got me. As always, excellent video. Hope you get that resolved. My moto is - if I put something on the net, it's everybody's property.
@6qrents You make a good point. At the same time, did Monty Collier do anything in this recent tit-for-tat that was edifying?
I admit that some of my videos haven't been that way. Yet I still have them up. I need that reminder that the Lord can use me to put together stuff with regards to doctrine.
Thanks for the info Mark. I'm surprised that RedBeetle would do something like that. But then again, based on some of his videos, I have to tell ya (my opinion), the fact that some 'believers' would spend more time and energy looking for theological arguments, and constantly quoting theologians rather than the Bible, makes me wonder about one's spiritual status. But that's just me.
I've stayed out of the back and forth acrimony that Monty Collier has been involved in over the past few months. It's not because I didn't want to take sides, but it seems like there was more confusion than anything else. It seems to me that Monty is obsessed with logic more than he is about proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I am also troubled about the manipulative way that he has been taking some people into his fold. I can't put a finger on it, but some things just don't add up.
First a "Monica Dennington", now he pulls...not sure if I should call it a "(Insert Name of [Almost] Any Pulpit Pimp Here)" or, in my case, a "Kerrigan Skelly".
I understand LS just perfectly. Tell me, how many good works are necessary and how "good" must they be? Have you ever done a truly good work? Could you say that you have, for even one moment of your life, ever truly loved the Lord with ALL of your heart, soul, mind and strength? Have you ever done a work that was 100% for the glory of God alone? And if not, who the hell are you to talk about doing good works?
LS folks have a lot of problems, and one of them is that they do not understand the depths of human depravity. They go on and on about "good works" and yet if they were truly honest with themselves they'd have to admit that they've never done a truly good work in their entire lives, and that even their best works were done with a sinful heart. Yet somehow they think these puked-stained, dung-infested "good works" actually count for anything with God. What a bunch of deceived fools.
@ATLpirate It seems that you do not understand what LS teaches. LS teaches that one regeneration occures by the moergistic power of the Holy Ghost, good works WILL follow. You seem to think that it teaches that our good works is what saves us. Wrong. Do you believe that good works will follow after regeneration?
"The gospel that Jesus proclaimed was a call to discipleship, a call to follow him in submissive obedience, not just a plea to make a decision or pray a prayer."
Do you agree with that?
If the gospel in its proper sense is a call to submissive obedience then I for one have no hope whatsoever. Yet this is the gospel according to LS's most prominent teacher, John MacArthur.
Perhaps (and let us hope this is the case) it is YOU who does not properly understand and embrace LS.
I dont want to answer for October31st1517, but let me ask you, when you read the 4 Gospels WAS JESUSES CALL a call to discipleship, a call to follow him in submissive obedience?? You know it was. cont...
Jesus never said here is the Gospel in its proper sense. Justification is ONLY by Faith alone NO WORKS, but justification is only one aspect of salvation, there is election, the call, regereration, conversion, justification, sanctification, glorification, everyone of these are essential to salvation you take away one of these ingredients you have no salvation.
In other words take away election then you cannot be justified, or take away regeneration you cannot be justified, or take away sanctification you cannot be justified. Also take away justification you cannot be elected or sanctified ALL must be there or you do not have salvation.
@1689Baptist Jesus never said here is the Gospel in its proper sense.
All that I mean by that is to distinguish between the gospel in its broader sense and the gospel as it relates to salvation. We're talking about the latter, that which Paul wrote about in 1 Cor. 15, and that which you must believe in order to be saved.
So with that in mind, do you agree with MacArthur that the gospel is a call to obedience? This is a very easy question.
@1689Baptist "WAS JESUSES CALL a call to discipleship, a call to follow him in submissive obedience?? You know it was."
What does this have to do with anything? Unless you're agreeing with the heretic MacArthur that the gospel is a call to obedience, you're off on a rabbit trail.
Are you not called to follow and obey the ten commandments? Are you able? Do you know the difference between the indicative mood and the imperative mood? Is following a set of commands in submissive obedience part of the gospel (which is indicative, NOT imperative)? The answer to that last question is a resounding no. If, however, you disagree, I suggest you renounce your false claim of being a Calvinist and go join the Roman Catholic church where you belong.
@ATLpirate "Genuine sanctification will show itself in habitual respect to God's law, and habitual effort to live in obedience to it as the rule of life. There is no greater mistake that to suppose that a christian has nothing to do with the law and the 10 Commandments, because he cannot be justified by keeping them."- JC Ryle- Holiness, Pg. 26.
Seems Ryle, a well respected "Calvinist", believed in obedience as well. Or was Ryle a Roman Catholic?
We can deal with all that later, the question I asked is a simple yes or no answer. "WAS JESUSES CALL a call to discipleship, a call to follow him in submissive obedience??
I know I'm splitting hairs in some ways, but that doesn't seem to be what's implied at the end of the video. I truly think that there are two sides within the LS camp, even if some of you guys don't see it.
I know that Oct31st and you are brothers in Christ. But there is another side that has a very heavily works laden gospel. They themselves judge the souls of men based upon the perceived performance. They'are quick to condemn anyone who sins; not much diff. than open theists.
First I'd like to say I am on your side of the "issues" that Red has brought up. I completely agree with everything you've said thus far and praise God for your understanding and clear teachings on such subjects.
But I am glad to hear that you are stopping the back and forth arguing over the subject. It's obvious that Red is unwilling to listen and understand the biblical teachings of Lordship Salvation.
Stay strong brother, and keep proclaiming the Good News!
