And Death Shall Have No Dominion/ Dead men naked they shall be one/ With the man in the wind and the west moon;/When their bones are picked clean and the clean bones gone/They shall have stars at elbow and foot/Though they go mad they shall be sane/Though they sink through the sea they shall rise again/Though lovers be lost, love shall not;/And Death Shall Have No Dominion....
It's just the opening. Pictures of a happy family and impressions of nature. Absolutely wonderful film sequence. In my opinion, one of the best ever made in movie history.
This is achingly beautiful. Thank you for your wonderful use of music and image. I included this in my blog piece about my second viewing of "Tree of Life". I hope you will visit.
this is staggeringly beautiful. have loved taveners music for years. this music , and of course the movie, is an indication that the matters of the spirit are very much in peoples minds. the movie is like a beautiful meditation. see. it.
"There were two ways through life – the way of nature and the way of grace. You have to choose which one you’ll follow. Grace doesn’t try to please itself. Accepts being slighted, forgotten, disliked. Accepts insults and injuries. Nature only wants to please itself. Get others to please it too. Likes to lord it over them. To have its own way. It finds reasons to be unhappy when all the world is shining around it. And love is smiling through all things." from The Tree of Life by Terrence Malick
