It's actually R.I.P. Criss. They were both name Christopher so one adopted the name Criss the other went with Chris, Criss Oliva was killed a car wreck, R.I.P. Criss, and Chris with his sexy self , ;) , is still touring with TSO, his solo career and trying to work with Savatage who, like Chris said in one of his interviews, is dormant.

You are correct. Gibson's first V prototype was made in 1957, before Dean was even a concept.
