Carlos was killed, and his final wish was that Marcus take care of his little brother, Dom, and to be sure nothing harmed him. Marcus could not protect either of the Santiago brothers. Dom was my main for the whole Gears trilogy (played co-op) so naturally he ended up being my favorite. When this scene happened it took a while to sink in and I just sat there speechless for a couple hours. xD The characters are so in depth it really did feel like a loss once he passed and it was difficult not to feel a little tearful.

A few things they could've done: jump out of the freaking car and take cover, just take everyone out of there with the 2 cars & gtfo out of there and use the vulcan to let the tank explode. But they were in Maria's hometown and Dom was already in a bad emotional condition. Guess this was Epic's way to show how desperate they are and how sad everyone is, I mean, if someone like Carmine died, alot of people would've been like: "yay for Gears traditions!" but this is so emotional for alot of us :(
