  • "While continuing to work to turn the national economy around" really? By turn around do you guys mean stall?

  • i can absorbed obama speech so easily. i remember when bush was the president i actually never listen to his speech rather than his face expression and laugh.

  • its not the business of the government to create jobs. The governments business is to get out of the way.

  • @patfealy - gov't get out of the way... if I get robbed, damn it leave me be!!!

  • Nice try. Keep it up check out esteembpo + com for social media marketing. GFYFG

  • Watch "The Obama Deception" in HQ! This is the truth about Obama that you must know!

  • WATCH CHEMtrails VIDEOS!!! They're spraying you w/ HARMFUL CHEMICALS by planes on a daily basis, just look up to the sky if you don't believe me, you know tilt your head once in a while!!! These are NOT CONtrails which vaporize right away!

    THIS IS ELITE's DEPOPULATION PLAN!

    Google: HOW TO STOP CHEMtrails!

    ALSO CHECK OUT: infowars. com

IT IS the INFO that ELITE DOESN'T WANT YOU TO KNOW! (like the TRUTH about VACCINES which is also part of DEPOPULATION plan!)

  • Obama is da SHIT!

  • Michelle Obama for president 2016-2024

  • hmm.. sounds good, your doing a great job Mr. President

  • the next new President NinjaSkillsKilla!!!!!!!!! wooo put your hands in they air=

  • there are PhD profesionals geeting laid off because someone in india and china is doing a lower quality job with a fraction pay. more training is good but not sufficient as long as jobs are going offshore. we need to do what our ancestors did in this country, have a vision for future, design and manufacture, letting people in china or india do our job won't fix nothing. first step should be to stop corporate greed and outsourcing.

  • The job losses due to outsourcing is not limited to people who have a PhD. My ex husband lost his 15 year career to outsourcing in the late 90's. There is no quick fix. I believe the president is taking steps to try and cut down on some of the greed you speak of and I am sure he will succeed. Have you not seen the latest where many of the rich were recently busted hiding money overseas and not paying taxes?

  • My god this poor man has so many issues to fix. Thank god he did not think of the election as a popularity contest, he is working SO HARD to fix this. My hat is off to you President. And I am part of the unemployed.

  • Close the Border Obama. I just got replaced by an illegal Alien

  • Did u work at chucky cheese? Lol no offense but how do you get replaced by a guy who can't read, write or speak english? Thats just pathetic.

  • all of you obama haters are in the same cloud

  • Michael Scott... .lol

  • lmao The Office.I love and live by that show

  • Great!

  • i think this is a good plan. that's why i'm going back to school too! i'm happy that president obama is doing so much for students and adults wanting to go back to school.

  • If you are single and perhaps have one kid, it is a good plan and you may be helped. It won't help me. I can't pay my mortgage and expenses for a wife and three teenaged kids on $1,210 a month unemployment. That's why there's just single or members of two-family households speaking. They can afford to go back to school with what we're giving them. Myself and the rest of Americans in my situation can't. This presentation, IMO, amounts to nothing more than an Obama ego prop.

  • you can still afford the internet

  • Obviously. I get a paycheck so why not?

  • Instead of complaining about your unemployment cut expenses that arent necessary, like your internet, Cable TV, ect. Budget with what you have, Ive had to do it, everyone has. Boo Hoo

  • I'm not unemployed....yet. I took a 20% pay cut in January. You might want look for those comments among the others. I'm quite sure they are here. ;-)

  • you stupid obama lovers have your heads in a cloud that is located in your asses. pull em out before its too late.

  • Given that current career paths have more frequent job changes than the past, its a needed change.

Adapting past skills and training new ones around others is the type of support system that would re-engage workers more effectively.

Rather than the lonely process of resume sending and self-search, this would put seekers directly in a place with others to re-train, re-engage, and discover supportive information, like employment trends, so they can better navigate back into income.

  • President Obama; you are the man!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Keep up the good work President Obama

  • did she say michel scott?? lol

  • barack obama will go down has the best president ever******

  • I think this is payback in a way. I remember in 1985 when my then girlfriend's dad got laid off from his steel mill job due to cost advantage in Japan. I told him "Why don't you take advantage of the training programs offered and go back to school?". He said it would be much harder since he was 48 at the time. I can totally understand that now.

  • ITS OFFICIAL!!! I now despise Barack Obama more than George W. Bush. 1He refuses to appoint a special prosecutor to punish Bush for his illegal WIRE TAPPING and TORTURING ways. Its becoming real clear that our government tortured detainees not for information but for forced confessions. 2 He's NOT pushing for Single Payer Health Care. 3 He's killing innocent civilians in Afghanistan 4 He's going to waste even more billions on the God Damn banks. I can't believe i voted for this LYING hack.

  • she sounds hopeless now lol as she speaks!

  • Several said "LEGALIZE MARIJUANA. You want job creation? Go ahead and take a wild guess how many jobs will be created once you end prohibition."

Legalizing marijuana will create jobs such as paramedics, coroners, grave diggers, police, accident investigators, claims adjusters, lawyers, etc.

But, the biggest thing legalizing marijuana will create are more Democratic Party voters!

  • Instead of re-training, why don't you just bring back the millions of factory jobs we lost to China, India, and Mexico? I'm 45. My mind isn't the clean slate it used to be. So, I'm supposed to go back to college and get another 4-year degree? Just fulfill your campaign promise and bring the jobs back home or give me $2 million in bailout money so I can retire.

  • why and how would you bring factory jobs back? That doesn't make any economic sense. It's cheaper for factory work to be outsourced. That kind of work will never come back and bringing it back would be economically inefficient. Blue collar workers are going to need to retrain no matter what. Is it such a bad thing to learn how to do something new?

  • It's not bad to relearn something new. However, If I want another 4-year degree I have to start from scratch. Unemployment will pay me $1,200 a month max. Then I have a wife and three teenage kids to feed. So, the American people will have to cough up $4,000a month for me to make my mortgage, etc. Then Pell would have to cough up an additional $10k a semester so that I can attend the school I graduated from. Think that's gonna happen? Then, you have to ask yourself why is it cheaper..(con't)...

  • (con't from last..) Why is it cheaper for companies to employ workers overseas? Number one reason is, of course, they'll work for less, but there are other reasons. The EPA and congress passed strict environmental laws. China has none, if any. This costs companies billions of dollars. Also, companies in the U.S. are taxed higher than in other countries. Andymu86, let's see...86..I'm guessing you're 22 or 23 without looking at your info. Try being 45 and going back to school. You have no idea.

  • (con't from last comment) All I can really do is hope things will get better. And I think they will since we are Americans and we always find a way to survive and thrive in the face of adversity.

  • Andymu86, I'm with you on hoping things will get better soon.

There's many things about the gov't I don't understand. For one, it seems like for years politicians have been trying to sabotage the country. There's been lots of corruption in play from both parties. This lousy economy was caused by the government in the first place (especially under George Bush's watch). Since the government caused it, I really don't trust them to fix it.

  • but when people want to be taken care of and just sit and watch the boob tube what can you expect but for a strong arm government that does not care about the people only in growing larger and larger government.

  • CK beleive it or not thats the situation me and my wife are in now. We have three kids 10/11/13 and my wifes going back to school, just finished her first year of school with one more for her culinary degree. Its not easy but doable. If we want to compete in the world market we need to educate till death im afraid, the rest of the world is doing it.

  • Grudge, sorry to hear that. A culinary degree will do OK in our "I shine your shoes and you shine mine" service-based economy. My job is in electronics. We lose bids to China all the time. Right now I'm working for a small business, having taken a 20% pay cut in January. Continuing education for an increasingly aging workforce will mean a person's income will decrease over time since learning ability decreases. That's hardly a good thing. "Hi, welcome to WalMart. Would you like a buggy?"

  • lol actually shes got her real estate license, and mortgage broker as well. I work at a pharmaceutical manufacturing facility so i understand high tek training. Its something that needs to be pursued constantly to keep yourself valuable to the market. We have been a country that has been around 80 percent service industry for around 10 years now. Its just about rolling with the times.

  • Grudge, Do you suppose while you're re-educating yourself, someone(s) in China or India is getting the identical education? So, the person/people/country who can go through the most (and quickest) educational iterations in a lifetime wins? The practical benefit of that doesn't make sense, to spend a big chunk of your lifetime going through recursive educational loops at your (and maybe taxpayer) expense.

Obama promised he will bring jobs back. What's the holdup? Inquiring minds want to know.

  • cknight, honestly, its been not even 4 months. I dont know about the china thing. I do know that even when the job market is thriving in the US. Most people have to keep themselves certified, trained, etc on all the new changes to their particular career field. No matter what your job is you need to keep educating yourself, weather its college or new methods at your profession.

  • Grudge, I don't mean to sound too pessimistic, but my job is too specialized. It supports electronics manufacturing. Engineers in China with the proper education and experience (~5-6 years) can do the same job for 1/8th the pay. More education in my specialty isn't going to help in this situation. If I had a job in cosmotology, accounting, or similar then you would be spot-on. Thank you for the suggestion, though.

What initial steps has Obama undertaken to bring these jobs back from overseas?

  • I hears ya. I dont think hes had much time to anything extensive in his first 110 days in office. I think its mostly been about stabilizing the economy to try and stop the bleeding. In the tax stuff there is supposed to be a mess of incentives to create more jobs here and bring more back to the US. I'm sure there's a whole lot more coming but it has only been a couple months.

  • I agree with you. Supporting a family is no easy task financially while trying to learn something new at the same time. It is also hard to balance your attention with going to school in addition to taking care of a family. I'm glad Obama is at least trying though...but I don't think what he is saying is practical or will work unfortunately. And you are absolutely right I don't have a clue about having family responsibilities or going back to school to have to relearn things at your age. (con't)

  • you know will have to start you all at a real low rate of pay but will get more money as we the top dogs hahaha

  • LEGALIZE MARIJUANA

You want job creation? Go ahead and take a wild guess how many jobs will be created once you end prohibition.

  • I'm so proud to have this man for President.

  • Nice to hear Jill finally will do something

    in public I mean

  • LEGALIZE MARIJUANA

You want job creation? Go ahead and take a wild guess how many jobs will be created once you end prohibition.

  • LEGALIZE MARIJUANA

You want job creation? Go ahead and take a wild guess how many jobs will be created once you end prohibition.

  • What about stopping Outsourcing?! I just found out that GM which was bailed out with our Tax Dollars and which the damn Union got paid back for getting BO Elected owns 55% Now GM is going to Outsource jobs for cheaper wages and lay off Americen Works whose tax dollars bailed them out. How nice!

  • 06:17 - 06:20 could be cropped to be part of a funny video

  • lololol

  • Thanks to the stimulus money Illinois highways will again be lined with flowers! If that doesn't revive our economy I don't know what will. Keep up the good work Obama.

  • LOL I'm really getting sick of morons parroting that nonsense. You never saw how speakers used to have either note cards or whole sheets of paper to read their speeches from? Just like these women speaking! Obama just uses a new way of doing that. It's TECHNOLOGY. And I know EXACTLY where you got that from. Think for yourself, man!

  • hahahahahaha i guess you think he should eat ketchup on his burger too lol presidents have used teleprompters since they came out dude you need to calm down with this idiocy all you racist idiots are looking for any stupid reason to bitch about he could run with a limp cause he hurt his foot or something and you guys would be like OH NOES HES GANGSTER WALKING your trash and hopefully you stupid redneck pig fuckers get swine flu and die

  • He might be the teleprompter President, but atleast he can read the teleprompter, unlike our last President....

  • and he speaks proper english!

  • LOL, yeah that's true!

  • I'd rather have a President that reads from a teleprompter (like every President does) then a President who can't read at all. *coughBushcough*

  • lol. People have been lying to you. Stop listening to right wing talk shows and analyze the current situation on your own.

You may have noticed that Pres. Obama isn't fazed by irrelevant right wing talk show hosts. He's just plowing through his commitment to an active government that works on behalf of the people.

    It's uncomfortable isn't it?

It's okay though... you may not agree with everything he's doing... but you can't deny that he's somewhat likable...

  • Is that your educated analysis?

    Dipshit.

  • good deal with it for 4 years and you will deal with half of what we had to put up with but unlike your president he will do well if we can get all these racist republicans out of there

  • Call you a WHAMBULANCE!!!! I guess you must be a fan of that war monger Bush.......small brain

  • You probably don't like yourself either....

  • You don't know President Obama.

  • President of sac? lololololol

    laughed irl.

  • did she say "sac"? ha!

  • ooooooooooh wow i'm fourth (shit dont nobody care stupid.)
