The TRANE compressor is a screw/gasket connection that might leak... Do you think this stop-leak will stop a compressor seal leak? I have a tall, high effeciency split unit that is a bear to get to the compresssor connection (condensor wraps completely around the compressor and the coil is about 4 to 5 feet high!), so maybe this seal will help... What do you suggest?
Hello, I've heard this kind of product will hurt the equipment in a long run. Depend on where you are putting into this chemical, but I keep hearing bad comment on using this kind of products for a quick fix. I guess it is depend on which brand makes a big difference? I have my house AC freon leak and the AC guy could not detect the exact leak spot and recommended me to use something like this... not sure what to do.
@Rcb2875 The hose that comes with the leak stop has a low loss fitting to keep the hose in a vacuum after detaching it with the vacuum pump.

@ckjohnsonp I don't really recommend using this product as a means to prevent roto-coupling from leaking.

@urkingod I have found that it works great on extremely slow leaks. I recommend that you fix the leak if you can find it.

@ALAMEDAMECH It's hard to say when I'll have to replace the oil in a system. More than likely I'll have to wait until the cooling season.

Seems that Rover agrees how frustrating it is not to find the leak. He can usually "sniff" them right out!
