This is a fantastic song. We're doing this song at Easter this year.
Its a shame the recording is mashed to pieces by the drummer going into "stadium rock" mode. I'm a sound engineer and drummer in church for 25+ years - so I know what drummers should and shouldn't do…
Church drummers take note. Here's an example of how *not* to play.
I agree with Kari Jobe about this: I think this is one of the Lord's favorite songs, because He always shows up when we sing it at my own church- Spirit of worship is so amazing....EVERY SINGLE TIME!!! What an anointed lady of God, to pen such timeless lyrics!
to Eliane: Jennie Lee Riddle is a songwriter from the US. I believe she lives in Texas. She's a wonderful, down to earth woman, who writes from the perspective of the church singing to the bridegroom Jesus.
I discovered this song a little while in the version in Portuguese in the voice of Ana Paula Valadão Bessa. I would like to know who is Jennie Lee Riddle. I appreciate anyone who can answer me and if you want to know about Protestant Christianity in Brazil just ask ??????
This version is just a little too soft. You need more percussion, distorted electric guitars, a wall-rattling bass line, and a chorus of powerful voices to get this thing rockin' the way a happening praise song should be. If you are gonna really praise the Lord God of hosts then you better be ready to make some noise.
@Floraiton I was just being a little tongue-in-cheeky. When the praise band at my congregation tried this song out they couldn't do it justice either. After all, the lights didn't get dim when at the crescendos, so it couldn't have been loud enough!

Marty you are partially correct, but as noted, God looks at our hearts.

no need for instruments in this song it stands powerful enough in just the lyric alone.

@MartySchrader not necessarily. God looks at the heart. It's ok to make some noise but that's NOT what makes a song work. This girl has a nice voice.
